As I browsed the Cincy Shop’s seemingly endless amount of hats, outside the store I heard a mom tell her son, «It’s just Cincinnati stuff.» As they walked away, I scoffed inside my head and though, «Oh, if you only knew.» In my life I’ve probably been to the Tri-County Mall 12 times, give or take two, but once I discovered the Cincy Shop I have made sure to stop there every time I’m at the mall. While the Hat World(Lids) down the wing has a large collection of hats(more than the Lids in Kenwood), they don’t even come close to the selection they have at the Cincy Shop. I would guess that the Cincy Shop has between 750 and 1,000 different hats(and thus thousands of hats overall) in the store, not to mention the duplicates of each one. They have all the latest Major League Baseball styles(and other sports), plus different styles of each team. If you are looking for a Reds hat specifically, I will guarantee that you won’t leave the store empty-handed. I counted the different Reds hats they had and I was over 150 before I decided there were just too many different Red styles for which to account. 175 or so hats from just the Reds… ridiculous. On top of that, they have easily the best selection of college team hats as well. There have to be at least 75 or 100 different teams(and three to four different hats per team on average), and they were even alphabetized as well. They also offer custom embroidery for adding a personal touch to your hat. The Cincy Shop also has a lot of Bengals stuff and jerseys/clothing and collectibles from other local teams, but nothing that really distinguishes it from any of the other stores with similar merchandise. Hats, however, are a completely different story. Hands down, the Cincy Shop in Tri-County Mall has the largest collection of sports hats of anywhere around and it is simply, um… hat-tastic!
