I’ve been here three times. The first was with my sister-in-law when she needed some new running shoes and wanted some advice. I’m not sure I really needed to be there because the staff here really knows what they’re doing – they’ve got a treadmill in the store and a camera at the back of it for gait analysis on top of the knowledgable humans in the store. The other two times were recently for some shoes for myself. I found some Brooks – I’m normally a Newton fangirl – and fell in love with them. I fell even more in love with the shoes, store, and staff when my $ 100+ shoes rang up at less than $ 50. I came back the next day to get another pair because WHYNOT?! Such a good price for good shoes, I just couldn’t resist. I won’t be needing any more shoes soon, but I might plan on getting my next pair here during a family visit because I love this place.

Bob Roncker’s is where you go for workout shoes. Whether its walking, running, or the gym. I accompanied a friend here who had recently started walking and going to the gym and was wearing out his cheap tennis shoes super quick. He was a bit intimidated about going somewhere and spending money. He was quickly put to ease here though. The older gentleman helped him out, got the right sizing, asked what he was using them for and came back with about 5 boxes. He put 2 different ones on each foot had him stand off to the side before and after to size up his stance and had him walk to see his gait. And then it was process of elimination. Do you like the left or the right better? Which feels more comfortable? And the least fav was swapped out for a new one until a decision was made on comfort. He went over the«mileage» the shoes will go through and how to take care of them. And they even brought out sale ones, so there wasn’t a lot of pressure. To me, being a runner of years, running shoes are expensive, which sucks but the prices are average. They’re not super expensive but not all that much cheaper here either. They have other types of workout gear here too. They also have a rewards program where you use your phone number and get discounts and money off after you spend so much there, so make sure you get set up on that! And you can use one number for an entire family as well. No matter your level of working out, beginner to advanced, they can help you out. They’re no pressure and will answer the«stupidest» of questions with no judgement.

I’m a big fan of Bob Roncker’s for multiple reasons. The staff is extremely knowledgable, but also friendly and approachable. I’m a novice runner at best, and specialty stores can be intimidating for people like me. But the people at Bob Roncker’s have always been wonderfully welcoming and helpful. The gear at Bob Roncker’s is reasonably and competitively priced, and it comes with excellent advice and recommendations. I’ve never been disappointed in anything I’ve purchased here – shoes, socks, water bottles, etc. One of my favorite things about this store, though, is their free injury clinics. For zero dollars, you can sign up for a half hour appointment with a physical therapist for a consult about injuries or other concerns. They’re extremely helpful, and it’s a wonderful resource. I’ve never tried any of the training programs Roncker’s offers, but I’m sure they’re just as excellent as everything else. I cannot recommend these stores highly enough. They offer the perfect combination of local knowledge and expertise.

I needed new running shoes so instead of going to a chain shoe store and being helped by refs my mom and I walked up to Bob Ronckers in the village square. Everyone was helpful and I tried on at least four other pairs of shoes to determine which one fit me best. My mom even got a pair of shoes that day. Support a local shoe shop. This store also has running clubs that meet during the week at a given time and run for about an hour or so.

If you’ve lived in Cincinnati and know anything about running or running shoes, chances are you’ve heard of Bob Roncker’s Running Spot(and New Balance Cincinnati) in O’Bryonville. Bob Roncker started his running store in 1981 and it has been the top«spot» around for many years, although Fleet Feet Sports in Blue Ash is doing quite well now too. In 2002, a New Balance Glendale store was opened in the Glendale Village square, but roughly six months ago it changed and became an actual Roncker’s store with all brands. Bob Roncker’s Running Spot in Glendale is much smaller than the O’Bryonville store, but they still offer the same great expert service and many of the same products. They definitely have less out on the floor, but being connected to the other Running Spot, of course they have the resources to display only the best and most popular products. Shoe brands include adidas, Asics, Brooks, Mizuno, New Balance, Pearl Izumi, and Saucony, and they offer both running and cross country style shoes, as well as spikes for track. The«other» Running Spot also has running apparel(including a few 2008 Olympics tops), water bottles, Gatorade and Cliff Bars, foot products such as Foot Rubz massager, and even some running magazines and the listings of local races and events. They also have a buy three pairs of socks, get one free deal, although that requires a shoe purchase. The main Running Spot is really a great store, and while I do like the Glendale location, it doesn’t stack up to its fellow Roncker’s store. That’s not to say I don’t like it(because I just said that I do in the previous sentence), it’s just a lot smaller and doesn’t offer as much. Like I said, though, they are able to bring in the best products, so maybe it’s a good thing that you don’t get overwhelmed with countless shoes when you stop into the Glendale Village store.
