Current at The Banks

Just moved to the area and Staying here for temporary living while I find a permanent location. The location is great, lots to do. The apartment is okay… You can hear the people above you and on the street which is kind of annoying. Overall, for the price I don’t think it’s worth the location… The apartment is a pretty standard cookie cutter feel.

I so love this place! The view, the cleanliness of the place, the smell of each floors/​level, the people that stays and live in the apartment and the party place below! I am so satisfied with the service of the apartment staff. Response time is so fast, I really can’t believe it!
Being in the center of everything is not bad! You get to experience and witness everything but at the same time if you want quiet time, the place is so quiet. You seldom hear noises! Good soundproof. I will definitely go back if given the chance. Pricey, maybe… but it’s all worth it! Try this place and I guarantee that you will not be disappointed :)

I can be a pretty tough grader (as evidenced by previous reviews), but I have to admit that I absolutely love living here! I’m on my second lease, and as pricey as this complex is, it’s worth every penny. First of all, the location is unbeatable. I can see the Ohio river from my patio, and walk to most of the city’s popular places. The apartments are new and well maintained. But the best thing about this place is the service. The people who work in the office are so pleasant, and do everything they can to help address any questions or issues. I’ve had to call the «after hours» service three times in the past year for various problems (lockout, fire alarm beeping despite taking the battery out, and the A/​C not working), and someone has been at my apartment to fix the issue within 30 minutes every time– — even at 9 PM or 6:30 AM! WOW! There is a good mix of residents– from young professionals to empty nesters. To top it all off, it’s puppy friendly (yay!). The only thing that could be a bit better would be guest parking (extremely limited). But hey, for downtown living, you can’t ask for much more!

I have lived at The Banks for more than a year and have been very happy here.
Pros:
— Location, location, location. I can walk to work, so it’s great. It’s close to everything and more restaurants keep opening.
— New, clean apartments
— Covered parking
— Areas at both buildings to sit outside and grills for use.
— Safe and secure
— Office staff is wonderful, helpful and prompt
— Views. i don’t have the same complaint about the windows, because I don’t have that issue with the model of the apartment I’m in. I think this greatly depends on which one you choose to rent.
— Friendly neighbors
— Pet friendly (though, if they are scared of noises, beware of the Reds fireworks)
Cons:
— Price, but again, you’re paying for the location and the «new» place to live. This shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone
— The pool (like others mentioned). Wish it was bigger, but it’s still nice to have it
— Noise (pending your location). Again, goes hand in hand with where you’re living, but certain apartments will be louder. I don’t have a noise issue with my apartment
— Parking for guests. However, the parking garage right below is $ 4 max on non game days, so not much to complain about there. Also, you can call in advance and get a guest spot in the garage for free
Overall, I really like living here and would recommend it!

For Cincinnati this place is great. Cost is acceptable for rent which helps keep the place nice and secure. Parking is very good cost wise and a bargain for city parking. Apartment sizes are good for city living and being within walking distance to nearly all events, attractions, restaurants downtown. Guest parking is paid parking. Good people everywhere. It will only get better and it’s great now.

There are awesome things about this place that can’t be denied, mostly having to do with view and location. This is about as prime property as we get downtown, between the suspension and purple people bridges and the stadiums, but the developers decided to save money in the wrong places…
The view, as astounding as it is, was not leveraged. The windows are too small and too few. The sun deck, though appreciated provides a pool that is neither deep nor wide, another loss. Speaking of the pool deck, the chairs are appreciated but where is the hot tub and grills available for the residents? As to the apartments themselves, it is apparent that they decided to save money in all the wrong places. The apartments are small, the carpet is questionable and the walls are thin.
Why not make it the quality deserved when buying into the view?

This is the biggest travesty in Cincinnati, and I’m shocked that we haven’t stormed this place with pitchforks yet.
The Banks is built on the most desirable real estate in Cincinnati, and possibly in the Midwest. Really, there’s no getting around how great this location is. I have no doubt that the original intention was to put something spectacular on it. But then the economic downturn hit and the developer clearly got cold feet. The result is absolutely disgusting.
The Banks is not worth half the money they ask. Let’s run down the reasons why this is a terrible, terrible place:
1) The windows. Oh god the windows! They took this great location with great views and they built something with portholes. You can never appreciate your view because your windows are tiny and let in very little light. Someone should be shot for doing this. Cruise ships have bigger windows
2) The pool. Again, oh god the pool! It’s absolutely tiny, to the point that the agent showing us the building apologized beforehand and told us not to get excited. There are about 10 chairs around the pool, too, so expect to have to fight for space in the summer
3) The quality. Cheap. Extremely cheap. The hallways bounce as you walk, the carpet is terrible, and there’s no hardwood option because they were too cheap to soundproof. These look like Motel 8 interiors. (I know it looks like hardwood in one of those pictures, but it’s a laminate that they claim is «just like bamboo.» It isn’t, and it’s only in about 5% of the apartments.)
4) The space. There is none. The apartment floorplans are shoeboxes with walls creating rooms.
5) Parking. It’s fine as a resident, though you pay for it. Guests, though? No street parking and the garage is $ 8. Don’t expect anyone to visit you.
We should have run the developer of The Banks out of town tarred and feathered. Honestly, I can’t express my anger over this enough. It’s ultra-​expensive for the area and ultra-​low quality. The windows will prevent you from ever seeing sun. I’m shocked there’s so little outrage over this. Cincinnati, have some pride!
