My boyfriend discovered this place when he was hunting for some specialty spices and boy am I glad he noticed they sell lunch in addition to having the spices we wanted! We love the falafel wrap and samosas so much it is hard to try anything else but I think I am going to make a special trip for lunch there just so I can try the flatbread with fig jam and goat cheese that I saw in another review. Also try the mango lassi, you won’t regret it!

Dean’s is my go-to shop for spices. I buy all of mine from the massive selection of loose spices kept behind the counter in big jars. You just state which spice you want and how much and they scoop it into a bag for you. There are individual spices and spice mixes and dry herbs. You can pick an amount visually and just tell them when it looks like enough or you can go by the ounce since they weigh it out on a scale. There are a few popular spices like whole black peppercorns and ground chipotle pepper that they have already packaged in little bags probably due to their popularity. They also have some spice mixes sometimes packaged in plastic tubs. They have everything you can think of and spices you didn’t think of so stop in and try out some new flavors. I buy paprika, smoked paprika, black peppercorns, white peppercorns, curry, cumin seed, ground cumin, ground turmeric, ground chipotle powder, nigella seed, Cajun spice, oregano, cinnamon sticks, ground cinnamon, whole cloves, and probably some others that I am forgetting. Olive oil is the other item I come here for. Dean’s carries a large selection of olive oils in different sizes from three liters down to small bottles. Most of the oils come from the Middle East and northern Africa but there might be Spanish and Greek ones in there as well. I currently have a Tunisian olive oil and in the past I purchased Syrian olive oil. I use a lot of oil so I always purchase one of the 3 liter cans or 3 liter glass jugs. The store itself is tiny and packed full of stuff so the aisles are narrow and it gets cramped when it’s busy but that doesn’t bother me. There is a big variety of other products on the shelves and a refrigerated section at the back as well. Other miscellaneous items I have purchased from there are capers, olives, pickles, dates, figs, mustard, bread, Mexican chocolate, nuts, halva, and samosas. But the list of things they carry is so much greater that it can’t all be listed; yogurt, tea, jam, pasta, etc. The halva is homemade and absolutely delicious and they usually have a couple flavors. The most recent time I visited I saw that they now have a menu to order food from. I am looking forward to ordering something from it next time I visit.

Who knew they had a lunch board? Not me! During a recent trip to Findlay, I noticed their a-frame on the sidewalk touting lunch items, so I stopped in to check it out. They have a nice selection of unique wraps and flat breads. I opted for a flat bread(which was kind of more like a quesadilla) with fig jam and goat cheese. There was supposed to be kale and additional items, but they seemed to have been left out-even though the cashier specifically asked me about them. The woman just prior to me ordered a couple of flat breads, so I’m going to assume that there was just a small mix up. It was still good, and I was happy to add another option to the Findlay lunch list!

I have so much love for this shop. Incredible assortment of mediterranean goods, pantry things, nuts, cheeses, pre made salads and dips. They even have homemade halvah!!! But the thing I cannot stay away from are their incredible dates. They are insanely good and kept in the fridge in the back. Buy in bulk. They also have wonderful date shakes. This place is a gem and will surprise you with how much of your standard shopping items can be found there(ex. pasta, high quality canned tomatoes, spices, frozen produce if needed).

Nice selection of Mediterranean ingredients, including dried whole and split favas, which I haven’t been able to find anywhere else.

Great place to shop for spices, Mediterreanean items and grains in bulk. I usually try and stop in whenever I am at Findlay to see what they have new. The employees are always friendly and more than helpful. Plus it’s nice to get a professional discount.

Well, there’s nothing else to say but that this is a fantastic store, bursting at the seams with all kinds of great Mediterranean(and not so Mediterranean) foods. I come here for: olive oil, balsamic vinegar, high quality chocolate, capers, dijon mustard, samosas, baklava, puy lentils, feta cheese, good bread, paprika, brilliantly spiced mixed nuts, and most importantly, the expertise and good humor of the man that runs it all, Dean. He’s the kind of guy that remembers his regulars and what they like(even though there must be thousands). This is the reason I give this store 5 stars — the service is top notch, and the selection is eclectic even in these days of find-anything-you-want-on-the-intertubes. Nearly every time we come to Findlay Market, we come here, if only to buy some cashews and samosas. One of the best browsing stores in town, with an owner who actually knows his customers.

Mediterranean delights, indeed! This is a fun store to come into on a busy Saturday afternoon. You step into the door and get to do a strange shuffle and awkward smile and switch places with people to get down the aisles. Then there is the excitement with each new thing you see, bulk spices behind the counter, bulk nuts(raw almonds $ 7.39/#, not too shabby), bulk lentils, couscous, and other grains, and so much more! Lots of interesting Mediterranean treasures to discover.

I love all things Mediterranean. Dean’s Mediterranean Imports was a fantastic place for me to end up in Findlay Market. The store is extremely small but it is packed with all sorts of Mediterranean delights. We were looking for feta in the store and came upon the fridges in the back. My wife is allergic to milk, but it’s limited to cow’s milk for whatever reason. The first thing that caught my eye in the fridge was the Buffalo feta. I’d never heard of that and thought it’d be fun to try. The consistency was completely different from any other feta I’d had. It didn’t crumble, but was closer to cream cheese. Either way, I thought it was delicious and worked well in the recipes we had for it. There is, of course, plenty else to be had in the store, but this is a good idea of the unique stuff you can find there. One of the nicest aspects of the store is the ability to buy spices in large and small quantities. Make sure to visit here if you’re at Findlay Market.
