There’s a dearth of great dining options in the Mariemont, Terrace Park and Milford area to begin with… hence my sustenance struggle. We want to love the Dilly and have been regulars for 3 years basically out of pure laziness and necessity for food after a long day at work dealing with other peoples problems and an allergy to the kitchen. Tonight will end that streak… hubby says never again. I now have to learn to cook and shop at the shitty Mariemont Kroger. Damn you Dilly! This could have been so beautiful for both of us. My wallet + your convenience = together 4ever! The scent alone… think frat house — combination of beer, mold and sweat. Like college, but… now without the quarter beers. The food is subpar as usual. The only reason Dilly gets away with this is because there are no other local options of quality. It’s like the opposite of the Oz principle but for food. Lower the bar, stay below the bar. It is indeed a romantic Mariemont fantasy to have this clever cute little town and restaurant. Aw! This place is a dump and would close in Chicago faster than a Kardashian can drop her underwear.

We had reservations this week for a party of 8. When we arrived(on time) were told that«it was complicated» but they had just given the table that was set up for us to another group who were VIP’s. I guess we were not important enough to eat in their restaurant! We left and I will never go back. We went to the nearby National Exemplar where we were told we were VIP’s to them! Skip Dilly.

Beer is not very cold. They did not have any light beer in the cooler at 8PM. Service is subpar, took an hour for a table on a slow night. Chicken wings are great so maybe worth the wait if taste is your only judging point.

Such great food and fine wine or craft beer choices. You can even browse their select wine store at retail and open at your table for a minimal corkage fee. We met Chuck, one of the owners, today at a Patricia Green wine tasting — what a great guy. Never had a bad meal or experience at the Dilly in Mariemont. Live music, too. Summer time — enjoy the patio!

I love Dilly. I love that it’s a guaranteed good night out with a few glasses of wine and some decent food. Granted, the food can be a little on the pricier end(under $ 20 for most entrees, maybe a few bucks more for specials), but this place is local and the locals come here to hang out so I can feed into that. My boyfriend and I have been here probably at least seven times for lunch and dinner. Their food is always fresh and homemade, and their service is always friendly. I love that they have daily specials and 9 times out of 10 there is live music playing. Their attached wine store and take out beer selection is pretty great as well to meander around if you’re waiting for a table. Onto the food… Their Bourbon burger with sweet potato fries is most often times what I get. I love the beer cheese with the bacon jam, and the fact that it is juicy and cooked correctly to my specification. It tastes fresh, and not like it was some pre-made frozen burger. Their sweet potato fries are extremely crispy and not too greasy, just how I like them. Their crabcakes are also amazingly fresh. We ordered them as an appetizer and I was extremely impressed with the articulation of the plating, the great medley of flavors, and, again, the freshness of the crab. We normally get their Korean BBQ wings to start, which have amazing flavor and aren’t super greasy like some wings can be. Wednesday is wing night so come try these out then to get a deal on them. Thursday is wine tasting night as well, which I will mention is a really great value. I have had a cup of their white bean curry soup, which is velvety and delicious with it’s little kick of curry at the end. They have lots of healthier options too, and not the«fake» healthy options where it might be a slab of salmon, but it tastes like they used around 3 tbsp of butter to cook it is. Their salads are fresh and large as well if you want to go that route(great for lunch). Again, their food is really great, but nothing really out of the box. I think if they continued to «jazz» things up on their specials then this place could be even better. I really can’t really say how much I enjoy this place’s atmosphere. They keep it relaxed, unpretentious, yet with a homestyle feel with really great food. This is a place you might want to take your parents who are visiting, or where you might visit with some friends to kick back and have a «relaxed» Friday night with some wine and wings/burgers/crabcakes… I must mention I love the village of Mariemont as well. There are so many cute shops and restaurants, and even taking a walk around the neighborhoods is fun and appeasing to me. Stop at Dilly’s for a bite to eat, sit out on the patio and drink some wine, and take in the great surroundings around you!

We are regulars… may think twice re returning, however! The pecan chicken salad looked old and was runny; tasted old, too; with dated ingredients. In the past, it has been fresh(white) and tasty…‘using a mayo base, most likely. This has been my go-to meal. My lunch mate had the same but in a sandwich. She commented the same. Also, the amount of salad was skimpy. The puréed white bean soup was just okay. Chef should have left some beans, whole. Service: attentive, good. In all, a VERY disappointing visit.

Have been there four times now. The food has been GREAT each time, however, there is never enough wait staff. The few they have, have too many tables to handle. Long wait between waitress sightings and empty drinks. Need reservations on the weekends.

Black bean burger is just not very good. Reuben is average at best. Fries are just ok. Place has florescent lights so the ambiance feels like you are eating in a grocery store — may be what they are going for. Not impressed

I love the Dilly! Great location, within walking distance of the movie theater. Great staff. fun atmosphere. Their beer cheese is some of the best in Cincinnati. Wing night is always great. The live music on occasion is really cool.

Go early on St. Patrick’s Day if you want the corned beef and cabbage. They ran out well before 6pm. Must be great. Beer cheese is a winner!

I’ve gone to the Dilly quite a few times now and felt the urge to Unilocal about it! This is a great place and atmosphere for both lunch and dinner. Service is a little unremarkable but that’s fine with me. Just keep my water full and make sure have the right condiments and don’t over do it — if you have that kinda attitude you’ll be happy with the service. I like that their menu changes a bit over time but some dishes remain the same — the tried true beer cheese, dilly burger, and fish and chips for example. I also think they have a great selection of healthier options too — black been burger is one of the best in town! As other reviews mention — I love their beer and wine selection and the option to just walk over to the beer and wine shop area to pick something else out if the need arises. The patio is a great option as well — especially in the spring and summer of course and where a band will play most weekend nights. I can’t wait to go back again!

Food is excellent at Dilly. Great lunch. I had the Bourbon Burger cooked medium. So delicious with onion jam and beer cheese!!! My friend had the Club sandwich and enjoyed it. Service was quick and efficient without feeling rushed.

A fantastic place! No wonder everyone loves it. I had a Mariemont Gobbler and a cup of the house chili. Both were good to the last bit. Really loved the chili — great texture, spicy but not overwhelming, meaty but balanced with the tomato base and other ingredients. I already want more and next time I will get the bowl. Others at the table had and loved the Grilled Romaine Salad. No issues getting seated right on time, and the server was attentive without any irritating smother. Plenty of parking, clean environment, and next time I may also browse the craft beer section(extensive). A great place!

This is kind of a strange review because I really like their food, but have always gotten the same thing the handful of times I’ve been there: the meatloaf, mashed potatoes and haricot vert entrée. All super delicious with depth of flavor and a large enough portion there’s enough for a second meal. But I end up getting the same thing every time due to such a small menu. I always go back every couple years wishing there was more on the menu from which to choose or at the very least some different selections from year in, year out. If you like salad, your dinner choices are great, with 14 different salads on the menu, but only 8 entrees and 6 sandwiches! My husband is the same way, getting the fish and chips each time we go. Oddly, fish is then repeated with a fish sandwich, instead of another protein choice on the dinner menu. I’m sure their other food is great as well as the place is always packed. It’s a good place for wine as a bottle shop is attached and they offer live music at times and have a patio and fire pit area.

I had heard about this place for a long time and finally checked it out for lunch on a weekday. I came through the wine shop on one side and thought it would be so convenient for those living in the area. When I came over to the restaurant area I was seated right away. The restaurant was fairly slow but it was just a weekday, so it was to be expected. My friend and I ordered the hummus plate to share. It came with hummus, cucumber, olives, warm pita bread, and a couple carrots. The hummus was really good but I wish there were a few more veggies for the price. I ordered the ahi tuna sandwich with sweet potato fries for lunch. The ahi is covered in sesame seeds and seared on the outside and raw on the inside. The sandwich came with three slices of the ahi on a bun with a dill dressing and arugula. The sweet potato fries were probably the best part even though nothing out of the ordinary. Overall, it was a pretty good meal but a bit overpriced. If I lived in the area I would definitely go here for bottles of wine and maybe an appetizer. This is a neighborhood place for sure!

The Dilly(formerly the Dilly Deli) is a establishment that really defines the quaintness of Mariemont. Located in the square, it is within walking distance from the movie theatre, shopping, etc. I’ve typically been for lunch, and always been pleased with my orders. I went for a work lunch recently and was a little underwhelmed with my Reuben – there weren’t enough toppings and it was just a bit basic in my opinion. I did try the soup of the day as well, a white bean purée, which was phenomenal. A few of my coworkers got the shrimp & asparagus salad, which I am planning on trying next time.

I have eaten from here twice. Once was in the restaurant, and once was a to go order. The food was really good both times, but the portion size was a lot better when you eat in the restaurant. The salads were pricey for what you get and the service was a little slow. Their website menu was not accurate when I tried to order to go. In order to be a better business, they need to fix that.

This used to be the most wonderful establishment, although the food and beer are still ok the wait staff is so unfriendly and unhelpful that it makes for a frustrating experience and the management is even worse. Even the ambiance has been cheapened and marginalized it’s just not worth going here anymore luckily there are many fine restaurants and bars in the area.

We had an early dinner at Dillys. We sat outside while band played nearby. The food was good, a bit slow but our server was nice. Casual food and dining. I had a salmon sandwich while my husband has the fish and chips.

Dilly, formerly Dilly Café, formerly Dilly Deli is a neighborhood eatery in the heart of Mariemont, Ohio. It features casual sandwich and entrée fare that is not all that out of the ordinary, but with a few standouts. One thing that I almost always have to have when I eat there is the Mariemont Gobbler – a turkey sandwich with imported brie and cranberry chutney on a fresh crusty baguette. At $ 10, it’s a bit pricey, but it’s really delicious and comes with potato chips.(no, the chips don’t make it worth it – it’s just good), For an entrée at dinner, I like the Fish N’ Chips – beer battered cod with seasoned fries(why does anyone still do seasoned fries? That’s SOOOO80s), tartar sauce and coleslaw. This is also on the pricey side… I mean $ 12 for one piece of fish or $ 15 for two is a little much for what is essentially street food. But I have to say, it’s really good. I guess if you’re going to eat in Mariemont, you should expect a bit of exclusivity to go along with it. But if you wear your J Crew and Sperrys, you’ll fit right in with the rest of the patrons. Try it once.

Service/hosts friendliness varies but the food and casual ambience can be just right on occasion. Great top 2% wine and beer selection. Some wobbly tables. The food is very good to excellent most times. Soups are great but a bit pricey compared to the rest of the menu. Love the patio.

One of my favorite places in Cincy! The beer cheese is ERGERDDDD! And when the weather is nice, you can sit outside with your dog! Beer list is fantastic and the fries have dill on them! Excited to walk here from our new home!

Although the food is decent, I find it not to be a good value for the money — the prices are too high for the type of food it is or portions you receive. The wait staff here should win an award for poor service —(not rude, just very very slow and don’t refill drinks and that sort of thing) I have gone to this place for 10 years and poor service is common. They have a very large wine /beer selection. They allow pets in their outdoor section which is nice.

I’m sad to say that Dilly is not the restaurant it used to be. Based on our experience tonight it seems as though both the food and service are just not what it used to be. Perhaps tonight was an ‘off’ night but based on my experience I don’t plan on eating here again. For starters, we ordered a bottle of white wine for the table. Rather than bringing a cooler to keep the bottle appropriately cold for our outdoor table, our server poured 4 very large glasses of wine and took the empty bottle with her. Our appetizer — the beer cheese — was as delicious as always. I was happy with the addition of the pretzel stick and as always the apples complemented the beer cheese well. I ordered the seared ahi tuna sandwich. When it came out the tuna was mostly cooked through rather than the red center characteristic of seared tuna. After one bite I could tell why — the fish was old and very fishy tasting. Others at our table ordered burgers, which were a bit overcooked but still tasty. One person ordered a salad and nearly half the lettuce was wilted and thus inedible. Unfortunately our server never checked on us so we didn’t have the chance to tell her about the subpar food. Overall I was really disappointed with the service and food! Honestly the highlight of the visit was the excellent musician who kept us entertained while we waited for and ate our food.

We go to Dilly on Wednesday nights for the live music and chicken wings. Wednesdays have definatly caught on, you’ll need a reservation if you don’t want to wait. They have about 12 sauces for the wings, some are very exotic. We love the choices and have never had a bad one. Dilly is also a solid choice for lunch, lots of salads and sammies. I’ve taken large work groups here with various tastes and everyone finds something. Great spot!

I’m giving this place 3.5 stars. It’s in a lovely location and the servers are pretty friendly. Tasty pink Moscato they have! The food is pretty good, but not mind-blowing. They need to step up their interior décor game, though! I’m satisfied but something is missing.

Quite a nice place, nothing fancy, but pleasant. The grilled chicken sandwich was very good and freshly made, I really liked the red paprika tapenade of some sort. The French fries were delicious! Would recommend for a quick bite.
