Love the selection here! I will never go to another optical store again. I was shocked when I saw the negative reviews of this place. I felt the staff here worked with me and gave me their honest opinion, and as a result I walked out the perfect frames for me. Keep up the great work. You have a customer for life!

I’ve been stewing about this for a few years, but judging from the reviews here and on Google, this place hasn’t changed since my terrible experience here. I grew up in Hyde Park and am well aware of how snobby it can be, but I never expected to be literally followed around this small store as if I were trying to steal something. I was not greeted at all, so don’t assume I misunderstood and someone was trying to assist me; I had money to burn on a cool pair of Oliver Peoples frames, but got nothing but stink-eye and bald suspicion from the clerks. For friendly service in the neighborhood, try Dr. Guappone on Observatory. He’s wonderful and the employees working in the shop in the front will go above and beyond to get you the frames you want. A note to the employees: high-class customer service means friendly, gracious attention to everyone who is a guest in your store. Take a note on warm service that earns its high prices from Knickers down the street.

I have purchased 5 pairs of glasses here over the last few years because of the quality and name brands of the frames they carry, however, as a return customer who has spent a significant amount of money, I can say that the customer service is rude and pretentious. I visited today to purchase new glasses and was greeted without a smile, then left without assistance to try on frames that are in locked cases, while the woman who greeted me moved on to help another customer who entered after me. I even requested the other salesperson to come out and help me and was told, «in a few minutes». I finally gave up and left. Walking across the street to Holte eyewear, where I hope to have better luck.

Given the horrific, rude service one encounters at Eye 1, I honestly don’t know how they remain in business. Their selection is broad, but there is a great deal of repetition among the styles, and the snobbery of the place borders on the absurd! They seem to be trying so hard to appear«sophisticated» that they have no awareness of how crassly they are treating their customers. Cincinnati has much better places to shop for terrific frames!

Their«vast assortment» of frames is largely due to the same style in 10 different colors. I also agree with Ragpicker about the customer service. After waiting at the counter for 5 – 10 minutes with two women employees helping one woman pick out glasses, a male employee quickly came out after viewing my impatient shifting in their monitor. After fetching my glasses… read ragpickers… same exact thing. All this«great» customer service for a $ 700 pair of glasses. NEVERAGAIN! I get better service at LensCrafters and pay LESS than half that for better made glasses.
