Good atmosphere, friendly staff and great selection of booze. Unfortunately overpriced, both food and drinks…

I went to FB’s tonight with a few friends and had a good time. The bartender knew how to make the drinks, the food looked good even though i didnt exactly eat any of it, it was a chilled atmosphere, and there’s a good selection of drinks to enjoy during happy hour. Bottom line is it’s a good place to be at.

I’ m a Cincy native who had been living in Indianapolis for a couple of years. Came to FB”s for my birthday weekend 2012 and had a blast. There is a spot in Indy called Tiki Bob’s that has the same kinda louge-y feel. That night, everything was on point. the DJ, the Drinks, lovely women(other than my date) and just a great time. FB’s is the spot to chill, drink, dance…

So i’m fairly sure i’d never venture here during the weekend(because they charge a cover. In Ohio. Which is … ridiculous). However, I came here for a Unilocal Elite event during the week and it was pretty quiet and chill. This is such a cute little spot! Love the furniture and the over-all ambiance of this place. The big yellow chair is my favorite :)

FB’s is a pretty cool place to go downtown. It’s right in the midst of casual, trendy, and upper-class. Inside is loungey and dark, with a decent sized bar and lots of couches/places to sit and chill. They usually have a DJ playing at night, which is kind of in a weird spot in my opinion, but I suppose it works since it’s more of a lounge than a club. There’s really not a lot to say about the place except it’s a nice spot to bring someone that’s maybe from out of town or someone that doesn’t go out a lot, but wants to keep it classy yet semi low-key for a night. If you’ve seen pictures on FB of people sitting on a big yellow leather sofa, this is the place. Anytime I’ve been in there they have something going on(liquor reps giving tastings, free champagne for ladies, etc). I’ve never had their food, so I can’t speak on behalf of it, but anything I’ve seen/heard definitely seemed good enough to try. I’ll have to check them out during the day and post a food update. Oh and they usually have cool signature drinks, if you dig that kind of stuff.

FB’s is a lot of fun on the weekends for drinks and hanging out with friends. Great music for dancing. Unfortunately I’ve never been in for dinner, so I can’t say if their food is worth writing home about. Review update coming soon hopefully.

WOW. I totally misjudged this place. I’ve been here before just to go out and it was fun, but I’ve never actually eaten here. Do yourself a favor and try their food, they just got a new chef and whoever is back there is cookin’ up some seriously good grub! Came here with a buddy after an extremely long day and just wanted a good meal. I was reluctant to even eat here because I just thought, bar food. I ordered a burger and their mac n cheese, my friend got a salad. The food came out pipping hot and the presentation was beautiful. Modern décor, and crisp clean plates does make a difference. We dove right in and my burger was cooked to perfection. The fries were actually seasoned. Usually no matter where I go the first thing I have to do is season the food, but this didn’t need anything. The ingredients on the burger were fresh, not wilted. The bun was grilled and buttered. The fries were battered and soooo freaking good. The mac and cheese’s texture was lacking, I think because it came out too fast with my burger, but I didn’t care because the flavor was there and it was actually hot. The service was 5 stars. I would come back here any day. It was a real pleasure to be dining here and I was blown away at the quality, and inspiring food. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because the basement is just not my taste. I came here back in the day when it was dark and they had the Tiffany blue couches, and live jazz. It was the perfect spot, but now its 70’s décor and just not my style. But the upstairs bar is still chic, and fun. Props to the chef, and owners. This place is definitely on my radar now ;))

I have been to FB’s many times and I usually have a great time. The drinks are tasty, I love the music and the interior décor is awesome. I went this past weekend with a group of friends of a different demographic(i.e. black), and we were told at the door that my friend was not allowed in because he didn’t have a collared shirt on(he had on a sweater). We understood that clubs have dress codes, so we went home to change. When we returned we were allowed into the club with no issue, we went on to have an ok time. The rest of our friends came later on, and we gave them the heads up to wear collared shirts. When they arrived, they were told that it was a private party, so they couldn’t get in. I was confused because we were in the club and there was no private party going on. I immediately alerted the GM(Morgan), who told us that this is never their policy and that it was the bouncer who made the call. He also said that I should tell my friends to come back and he’ll make sure they get in and he’d even give us a bottle for our troubles. At this point my other friends were over it, so they ended up going to Righteous Room. Whether it was a miscommunication, or a shady racist bouncer making up rules, that night definitely left a bad taste in my mouth about FB’s.

I went on Thursday, karaōke night, for my friends birthday party. It was exceptionally busy because there was a game that night and a there was a huge influx of after-game beer drinkers. There also seemed to be a lot of out-of-towners so there was a mixed bag of experiences to be had. It was my first time I ever did karaōke and I was sooo nervous, but I got through a whole song, «Misery» by Maroon 5, and people clapped and cheered for me, and some even boosted my confidence by coming to talk to me later about it. There were ladies from Hennessy there giving away free drinks, I got mine, and my friend gave me hers, I don’t recommend getting Hennessy cocktails though, they are not very tasty, but if you want to get drunk fast, they seem to do the trick. After the free drinks(like I was going to say no to free drinks) I got a couple Malibu coke’s after and those drinks from the bar were made very well! The ambiance of the place is like Alice In Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass, lots of cool furniture, fancy rugs, mirror ensembles, nice bathrooms, and there is a bar in the basement too, so there are lots of places to mingle and get to know people. People did seem very friendly, chatty, and I danced some with my friends and other people who were having fun with the karaōke. I would definitely go back! and reccomend it to others!

Couple vegetarian menu options. American fare. Pricing is on the expensive side. Some impressive beer options. 1⁄3 of the liquor selection is flavored vodka. Can’t quite tell if it is more of a young yuppy college type bar with an ironic hipster vibe created by décor choices. Trying to be funky, but maybe comes off as everything from the attic rather than quirky eclectic chic. Sort of small and loud with a 50⁄50 mix of girlie drinks and beginner beer aficionado options. Definite low key singles scene, but make sure you have your image correct, because that’s going to be the most important factor to how you’re received. This is the place where all your downtown party friends have been snapping photos of themselves and friends draped over odd and extremely proportioned chairs for Facebook envy posts.

I have loved the food at FB’s ever since I went there for the first time during Unilocal Drinks week. Their menu items were unusual and wonderfully spiced. Chef Jimmy Gibson created a menu that brought me back again and again. So imagine my disappointment when I went there on a recent Saturday and saw all of my favorite menu items gone! No more Avocado Goat Cheese Mouse, Moroccan Bus Stop Chicken and Waffles, or Long Tall Blonds! We asked the server about the changes. She told us that their new chef has decided to put a new spin on the menu. Complete disappointment! Instead we tried the salsa Margarita(pineapple salsa), the frites(fries), the pizza appetizer, and a sandwich…(Sorry for how vague I am being! They haven’t updated their menu on the website!) The sandwich looked absolutely amazing, but my friend reported that the bread was dry. The fries were good but came with a very odd tomato salsa instead of ketchup. The pizza was far more crust than topping. The salsa was pretty much just cut up pineapple. All in all, I was disappointed. If you are going to get rid of my favorite menu items, please replace them with things equally amazing. I will give this place a chance again, but am concerned that I am about to lose one of my favorite eateries!

Walking through the front door is like crawling through the rabbit hole into Wonderland. The design of the place is really cool, and there’s a super large chair that’s like 12 feet tall — fun place. As plain as day, this is a bar, but it’s not like your normal bar with all the superficial girls walking around. This draws a normal crowd of people to a very kitschy kind of feel. They have some food options, but I think it’s more just snacky type foods, and they do karaōke — I’d like to see the bars on the strip do that.(Wait do the bars on the strip do that?) If you do order food, there’s some appetizer that’s like guacamole, but a different consistency — I can’t quite remember what it is, but it was very yummmy… ummm…nom nom nom. Sorry…didn’t mean to go all cookie monster on you. The only thing that’s a little sad is that it feel off the beaten path — it’s located right below a skywalk a few blocks west(and maybe 1 or 2 blocks north) of the action scene in downtown Cincy.

Do you enjoy extraordinarily attractive, friendly, and attentive servers? This place seems to be chock full o’ dem. And I’m not just talkin’ ’bout the lay-days, I saw some muscular hunks of «oh, he’s just fine» slingin’ whiskey sours behind the bar. Silliness aside, this is the kind of place where you can get a $ 2 High Life or a $ 220 shot of Louis XIV, of which the gentlemen next to me was nice enough to let me sniff what I deemed to be about twenty dollars worth. Perhaps a bit of an identity crisis. It’s got lots of keys and an oversized Alice-in-Wonderland Chair. The decore seems a bit Lewis Caroll Caterpillar, but the crowd’s no bother. A very solid karaōke night, even if they start way too late every single Thursday. Location is totally tucked away under abandoned SkyWalk ruins, I’m sure that doesn’t help, but all told a decent place.

Not a fan. I feel like this is where the Lunar crowd goes before they head across the way or something. Granted I did go back a second time. and it was better than the first time I went. I didn’t realize they had a basement bar as well. The first time I went it was all VIP acting like Alice in Wonderland, Themed stuff and I wasn’t impressed. I don’t get into the being seen type of atmosphere and I felt that’s all this place was. I was very disappointed. But, I have to admit, the other night when I went and was told about the downstairs which was open this time… my tune started to change a bit. I’ve never tried the food so I also can’t give an honest review there and it may change my mind and up the star count. but the basement level. now that’s my kinda place. No VIP, and the super nice bartender were enough to make my tiny heart swell up a size or two for this place. The shot girls were generous, the music was decent and I loved the grandma’s basement kinda feel. Nice. It’s good to know that I can get away from the Paparazzi atmosphere upstairs. I may even give this place a 3rd shot. They say the 3rd time is a charm. perhaps we will find out.

I like FB’s I go here almost every weekend. The Food here is pretty good but I feel like the place is kind of confused, they can’t figure out if they want to be a nightclub/bar or a fine dining restaurant. I like the chicken and waffles they are super good! The bar in the basement is a little quieter and more intimate. The décor is pretty cool. I like how they show a lot of indie films on their T.V.s The place is overall pretty cool and cozy. They need more bathrooms upstairs and down. Also the managers are very nice and understanding when you leave your credit card there from the night before.

FB’s is really three business’s in one. You can start off the night diving into qbg(quality bar grub). The food is not what you would expect but it will exceed all of your expectations. The unique attention to detail with bar food is not something you will find anywhere else. As far as the bar aspect, FB’s has two options that are great for small groups or a girls night out. Upstairs is your typical downtown bar with great bartenders and bass thumping music, while downstairs offers a retreat from that very same downtown crowd. To add to the basements allure, there is a Mug Club that is continuing to grow and evolve. Being a member grants you access to $ 3 drafts of craft beer that changes every month. Whether you are a pale ale fan or have a «go hard or go home» stout attitude, you’ll feel right at home in grandma’s basement.

I stand corrected and, cue Arnold Schwarzenegger voice: I’ll be back. That’s what I told myself after finally visiting this establishment. I went in with the mindset that this place was going to reflect the negative reviews and my preconceived notions but after enjoying the food and having a great conversation with the staff and owner, I will definitely make an effort to return. During my visit, there was a photoshoot for the Cincinnati reality show«Queen City» going on and it was interesting to see how much work and behind the scene activity it requires. I first had the Avocado Goat Cheese Mouse, the chips and salsa(get the eFn beware sauce if you like it hot!), and the edamame. The chips and salsa were nothing special but I did like the other two items. It was perhaps the best edamame I’ve ever had. I closed out the meal with the Long Tall Blonde, which really hit the spot.(I just reread that last sentence and realized that could be taken in a couple different ways. ha!) Throughout the meal I chatted with the friendly and knowledgeable owner and some of the bartenders. I really feel like they are trying to keep some of the upscale image yet appeal to those that might come in before a Red’s game(which there were a few guys in shorts and Red’s paraphernalia). I was very impressed by the service and overall ambiance, yet fully admit that I kinda have to be in the mood to be in a «fancy» environment like this. So, if it’s a special night, I would have no problem starting with some food and then possibly staying until the wee hours cutting a rug and enjoying this place. I would also have no problem just sitting at the bar and eating and drinking, and watching some TV. There is an outdoor area where I guess you could go out and possibly smoke, or just escape for a few minutes and have a conversation with your special someone. I did not get a chance to be there during a busy time and when the dance floor was bumping, so hopefully next time I can go, it will be a little more busy and later in the day. Most of the time clubs don’t fill up until 11pm or later, I was there around 7pm. *side note: this location is kind of an odd(read: cursed) one and know that many businesses have come and gone but hope that they continue to be successful. Maybe a supporting business will open up to the right of it. Anyone remember the Ethiopian restaurant that used to be there?

The single best thing about FB is the Alice In Wonderland chair. It isn’t the drinks, it isn’t the over-the-top effort to be cool, it isn’t the self-absorbed staff, and it isn’t the wanna-be trendy basement with the photo gadget. Luckily the one drink I had has wasn’t overpriced. Otherwise the whole thing would have been a mess. I’m open to a return visit, but now I know what I’m in for.

Pretentious. That is the word I would use to describe this place. But once you get past the ostentatious exterior(ok, and interior) of FB’s, it can actually be quite a lot of fun. The place was overly packed the night I was down there, and I was definitely not dressed for the atmosphere as I was wearing a modest sweater dress. Luckily, my crew was VIP and had bottle service, so we were able to relax on couches while everyone else had to fight their way for a drink. My biggest complaints were the line to main floor women’s restroom(which was a single, I might add), as well as the bottle service girls. I was at the bar with friends, not random people I met, and the girls doing the bottle service were a bit snobby and stuffy. It was rather strange as I was the one responsible for them making tips. Hmmm… They also ran out of Ketel One vodka really quick and refused to replace it with a new bottle, which we were wanting to purchase, so we ended the night shooting whiskey, which is probably the reason for me not remembering much of the night beyond this bar. With that being said, I had a pretty good time at this bar, but I am not making any definite plans to return anytime soon.

I am not in FB’s demographic. Not. At. All. Which is probably why I don’t like this bar. A(fake) velvet rope defines the exterior theoretically preventing folks from jumping in line to try and get in the place and the first time I saw it I literally laughed. A rope in Cincinnati? Well, why not? The inside is pretentiously decorated black and white with some scattering of red pillows and it is peppered with impossibly beautiful people that won’t be here in 5 years because they will have all married doctors and gone to live in the suburbs and have thousands of babies… *ahem*. My apologies. The drink prices are normal for downtown, meaning high and the wait at the bar can be long if it’s crowded. I went with a group of friends on a bar hop one night… you need to dress for the occassion and there is some dancing. It’s a young crowd and I wasn’t into this scene when I was 20 some I am sure as hell not into it now. The bottle service is quite good and that is what this bar is for… exclusivity and bottle service. Nice for a night to experience it but beyond that it just doens’t hold my attention. I supposed Cincinnati needs something like this so if this is your thing then this is your place. The stars I give it is more of a reflection that it just isn’t my style which I supposed isn’t a fair review but there you have it. Different strokes and all… And hey, it isn’t near as bad as Cadallac Ranch.
