Awesome food and good service! I asked for medium to spicy– however spice level not there. Flavor was excellent! The Thai tea was awesome. Definitely recommend the lunch specials lots of food and very filling!

Service is nice. Interior is fun and exotic so if you’re looking for a nice ambience this has it. Food was just… ok. Pretty sweet and one dimensional. Our noodles really just had the one flavor and didn’t have many vegetables mixed in. Just noodle, protein a few nuts and a few pieces of onion. So, it seems like the food is catered to a more American palate without the normal nuances and kick(this was not spicy at all even though we asked for medium spice). If you want a safe intro to Thai food this might be a good place to start.

Their pad Thai and fried rice are okay. Their pad see ew is nasty so don’t get it. The sauce have too much peanut in it so that’s all you can taste. It was soaked in the sauce which was unappetizing. It’s not the best Thai restaurant but it’s much better than Bangkok bistro and Wild Ginger.

If you are looking for some good pad thai, look no further. I always start with edamame as an appetizer. From there I move into a salmon roll, then a tuna roll and finish with a crab stick roll. Then comes the pad thai. I always go with the chicken pad thai which is amazing. The noodles, sauce and chicken are cooked to perfection. They also have a great sauvignon blanc selection of wines as well.

Hyde Park has an overabundance of sushi and Thai restaurants. Some offer half price sushi, some have a hibachi table, some are super trendy; but Green Papaya is just solid. It’s been around since the before the others and they have it down. Their sushi is very good and the presentation is always pretty. Their Thai food is tasty, too. We usually get a combo of sushi and a Thai entrée to split. That’s the perfect amount of food and a great way to sample their offerings. The original room is a bit more pleasing than the addition, it just still feels a little cold. Watch where you park, they really only have about 10 spaces, the rest are reserved. Be safe and just park on a side street.

They will make fried rice without onion if you request it, which is awesome. Good spring rolls. However, the pad Thai(my favorite Thai dish) is not that good. Portions seem to be smaller than other Thai restaurants I’ve been to.

Not half bad, I popped in here on Christmas Eve and found the food above average. There are better Thai places in the area but I’m not opposed to this one. Their sushi boats look neat.

My favorite chicken fried rice in the entire Nky/Cincy area! It’s not greasy or artificial, and doesn’t leave me feel uncomfortably stuffed. Go here for a delicious, lighter, fried rice option.

This is the best thai food I have ever eaten, and there have a lot of places popping up all around Cincinnati and it’s neighborhoods. I had the Crazy Noodles last time with thai iced bubble tea, and I would defiantly order it again if they didn’t have such a large menu with so many yummy things I have yet to try. They have such fresh veggies and hand made noodles that will make you wanna come back everyday. The prices are reasonable, generally around 8 – 10 $ for a lunch sized portion. I only wish it was closer to where I work :(

Food is delicious. We tried a little bit of everything. Sushi, apps, and traditional Thai dishes. The coconut soup was delicious. It’s the perfect thing if you’ve been sick and want something other than chicken noodle.(I’ve been sick all week) Dessert was my favorite part. We had the green tea ice cream with deep fried bananas. Service was average. They were pretty busy. We will definitely be back.

The food quality has seemed to go down. Seeing this in front of the restaurant makes me wonder what else is going on at Green Papaya. EEK!

2 ½ stars. So I’ve been here many times. Probably six times in less than a year. To be honest it is/was my go to Thai place. I’ve never really been anything other than satisfied if not happy with the food and the service and before tonight would’ve given them a strong 3 ½. Tonight changed that. So I ordered a to go order. Went, picked it up, walked out. The order included a Thai tea. I get to my house, go to pick it up out of the drink holder and realize that it had spilled a ton in the holder and had now spilled on me. Apparently they knew the first cup was cracked and instead of putting it into a new cup they simply placed the old cup inside of a new cup. I just spent nearly twenty dollars on an entrée and a drink and you can’t even just find a non-defective cup??! So anywho, not only was the liquid from the first cup being pushed up the sides and coming over, but the second cup had the same defect and so was leaking from the bottom. As you can probably imagine, I was irritated. Not just at the mess I would have to now clean up, but at the absolute laziness that the folks there had shown by not just finding a cup that didn’t have a crazy in it! So I call and explain the situation and the woman says(with an attitude) «so what, do you want a credit?» And I was like, NO I want an apology! Anyway. All that to say, I’ll be trying out Ruth Thai next time I want Thai.

I went here with two friends(and one’s young child) after a long day, with big appetites. One had been here before and knew instantly what she wanted, which included hot tea and a side of rice for her son, the other went with a bowl of fried rice, and I spent about 10 minutes weighing all the amazing sounding options on the menu. I ended up going with the Sashimi platter, that included a ginger salad and miso soup — it seemed the most food for the money, and that’s what I needed at the time! The salad and soup came out quickly, along with the side of rice, but the hot tea took awhile to come in(multiple requests, which the server was always very polite about but always forgetting). Anyways! The salad was a little too over-dressed, but it had a really good ginger flavor and wasn’t overpowering despite being overdressed, the soup came out piping hot with good chunks of tofu, but a very flavorless broth. Our dinners came out very fast as well, with the fried rice bowl being a decent size for the cost(smaller than what I would prefer, but my friend was happy with it), and the chef’s choice sashimi having a good variety of fish(Pictured). I personally was very happy with the fact that you could tell the sushi had been worked by the chef recently, they used their hands well to get the fish to a warm temperature that was perfect for what you would expect in good sashimi. The rice was great sushi rice, with a good size serving for each fish. As a whole, for a sit down experience I was very happy with the sashimi platter. 4 stars because I think the food was good, service prety quick and polite, but there are Thai places within the city I prefer over this, but Green Papaya is a solid option with a good price: food relationship for the area. Oh the other thing I forgot — parking here kind of sucks, very small lot in a residential area with a busy road adjoining it.

Came here for dinner the other night hoping to get my Thai food cravings out of the way. First off, the atmosphere of the restaurant is very spacious and welcoming. Our server however, wasn’t very welcoming or at least that’s how I felt. You can tell that she didn’t want to be there. They have a huge menu! They also served sushi and some of their rolls do sound delicious from their description but I was there for some authentic Thai food. Appetizer Crab Rangoon, it was oookay… nothing really special. I ordered Pad Thai with chicken the holy grail of thai food cuisine. Unfortunately, this was the very opposite… it was really greasy and very bland. There wasn’t any flavor at all. Ordered a bowl of Tom Yum Koon again, bland… there wasn’t any of that spicy, sour, flavor at all. Thankfully their Thai tea was point. Maybe I came on a night? I would try this place again for their curry. Hopefully it’ll be better.

Green Papaya has amazing food! We eat a very strict way and most restaurants end up making us sick, but Green Papaya left us feeling great and satisfied! It is fantastic being able to have international cuisine in a healthy way! Their menu has a wide variety, from curry to sushi. The prices are also very reasonable for healthy ethnic food. They offer quite the variety of drinks to top it off. I highly recommend Green Papaya!

I’ve had both the green curry and crispy pad thai, while dining here. The food has been delicious both times and the portions are often quite large. The only reason that green papaya looses a star is because of the slow service. It can take forever to get your order placed or receive your check, so I would advise anyone to plan accordingly if you are short on time.

BLUF: My curry was awesome and you can control the spice which is nice.(to go order) Got it to go but it was quick and easy and the price and staff were great. We all got curries and we all loved our meals. I am weak when it comes to spice so I got mild and it truly was mild. I have no complaints about the food. It was great but I didnt really experience the place since I got takeout.

I am glad I decided to give Asian food in Ohio another chance. The outside is super cute right now with Christmas lights up. There is a very small parking lot so I had to park on the street. The staff is very friendly and my friend and I got seated right away. Nothing unique about the indoor environment, just simple. Although I think if you sat at the sushi bar, that would be fun. I tried the vegetable dumpling soup and pad see ew. Both were delicious! The soup was nice and warm. I wish the dumplings were bite size though because when I cut them in half some of the inside deliciousness came out. However, the soup was good too so I still got to taste it all. The pad see ew was yummy and for those who have a soy allergy, they told me the«special brown sauce» does not have soy. It’s more of an oyster sauce. The presentation of the dishes were all awesome. My friend had the pineapple fried rice, which I got to taste and also loved. The waiters were all friendly and did a super job keeping our water glasses full. I am so glad I finally gave Asian food another try here because this one is really good. Now I understand what my friends have all been raving about. Definitely check it out!

We ended up having lunch at Green Papaya after struggling to find a place that did not involve a lengthy wait to be seated. Paul and I love Thai food, so we were both excited about trying a new place. Highlights included atmosphere and service. I especially enjoyed the bamboo growing inside. Our server was friendly and quite quick. One of the first things I noticed was a somewhat overwhelming menu. When a restaurant offers page after page of selections, I wonder if they do anything exceptionally well. I ended up relying on Unilocal for tips. Some of the food and drink were very good. The avocado in my avocado roll was perfect. That might sound silly, but avocado lovers appreciate perfectly ripened avocado – beautifully green and textured like silk. And OMG, the Thai iced tea was amazing. It was a gorgeous redish orange hue, slightly sweetened, and tasted of coconut milk. The Tom dYum soup was not yum at all. It’s supposed to be hot and sour, but neither of those characteristics were apparent. It was cloyingly sweet and included a few slivers of bland chicken. Tom Yuck! The Hot Thai Spicy was okay. The presentation was quite beautiful, and the vegetables were good. I ordered mine«medium» heat-wise, and they got that part right. Unfortunately, the sauce left something to be desired and the beef was almost non-existent. The bit of beef that made it to the plate was rather chewy. Paul had Lunch Box 1 and was rather disappointed with it. The salad was dressed with something that tasted vaguely of ginger, but it was hard to tell for sure. The veggie fried rice was bland, the spring roll was average, and he complained about sushi skimping(small pieces). I disagreed about the size of the sushi, as I appreciated having manageable bites. Before I close, I would like to point out a rather odd feature in the women’s restroom. The soap dispenser is located about a quarter inch above a safety bar located above the toilet. There is not enough room between the dispenser and the bar to fit a hand, so when I pressed the dispensing apparatus, soap squirted onto the bar, not on my hand. I tried several times, gave up, and opted for the trusty hand sanitizer in my car. Now that I’m mentioning this, I feel creeped out about the cleanliness(or lack thereof) of employee hands. Ugh! Please fix it! If I return to Green Papaya again, it will likely be for tea and sushi.

This is a gem in my neighborhood. I can not wait to come back to get a great sushi roll and a ginger salad. We stopped in after the pool one evening and was sat right away though it was a bit busy. We got some special rolls as they were suggested like the Tri-State and Green Papaya I think it was called. The server was great and very friendly and very funny. We will be back soon :)
