Gyro Hero

Decided to try out this new place that replaces Tom and Chee for lunch. They seem pretty popular for people for take outs. I was surprised that nobody decides to sit there and eat.
They didn’t take credit card which is not ideal, not sure if it’s just because they are new and don’t have the equipment yet.
I got the Chicken platter, it is a large portion for the cost. The chicken is flavorful. Salad taste fresh. Only complaint is the rice is kind of hard. The food came out pretty quick.
Good option for lunch.

I stopped in for a quick mid-​week lunch. I walked in and the smell of yummy seasonings filled my nose making me more hungry than I already was. I walked up to the counter and was a little disappointed to see that the credit card reader was down, but luckily I had enough cash on me to purchase a gyro wrap, I would have gotten the gyro platter had the reader been working. I ordered my food and waited for about 5 minutes to get my order.
When I got back to my office, I unwrapped my food and was a disappointed at how little meat was on the sandwich. The flavor was good, but I’m still hungry…

In and out with my delicious lunch in 5 minutes. ok maybe just a touch longer but not that much longer. Quick service and delicious food is a great recipe for success! Gyro Hero was only opened this year and they’ve already seemed to amass quite a following and I can see why. I got a bountiful lunch for under $ 10 on the go. Greek fries which are pre-​seasoned (aka the good kind of fries) with greek dressing feta cheese were pretty bomb. The gyro hero wrap is typical of what you’d expect. Pita bread, onions, lettuce, tomato and filled with delicious gyro meat. Notice that I’m missing the tzatziki sauce… the tzatziki is the only reason this isn’t a 5 star review. The homemade sauce was scant… and tasted really sour? I’m fully aware that this might be because I’ve only ever had mainstream (read: bastardized) tzatziki but it wasn’t very good… nonetheless the delicious gyro meat deliciously compensated for it. Gyro Hear, we will meet again! Many, many times!

Yum and I mean yum. Finally a place that knows how to make gyros. The spicy is my fav. I’ve eaten here twice in two days. I’ll be back.
