C’est magnifique! I don’t get the opportunity to eat french and so the menu was full of options but I was after the French Château burger, the #15 burger on the Cincinnati Magazines list of best burgers in town. I was not disappointed. This things was huge but I ate the whole thing, plus I had the chocolate tart accompanied by a French press pot of coffee. Great meal. Great atmosphere. Plus the table next to me had the Absinthe drip which I’ve not had the pleasure to experience. Next time maybe.

Okay, but underwhelming and in need of better service. Was told ahead of time that our 6 pm table would be needed by 8 for later diners. Okay no problem. Ordered quickly and had a good salad and nice glass of wine. Bread was very good, basket promptly refilled. The place was not very busy yet but it took way too long for our entrees to come out. I am patient and understand Saturday nights are hectic, and French style is often slower between courses… but don’t rush me then take 40 minutes after my salad is taken away to bring the entrée. The waiter apologized for that and for the water he spilled across the table. The entrees were a miss. The duck was average at best with the sauce a bit bland. My wife’s entrée was the filet on special which was much undercooked and tiny for the price. We had been planning on getting desert but skipped it to get out of there quicker. Adding to the mess was our table being under a cold blowing vent. Ugh. Disappointing for a nice night out.

Ok, this is a hard 3 star review, because the food was fantastic. However, the hostess and waiter were«just aok». When you spend near 100 dollars per person on a meal, you’d think things would be magnificent, but not so much. The waiter tried, but he forgot so many things. We had bread and butter, but when the butter was gone, I carefully placed the dish on the edge of the table, suggesting more. Totally ignored. After 3 visits, I suggested, «maybe more butter?» Certainly, he said yes, and did so, but again, why did I need to ask? Similarly, the hostess came by, asked if things were ok, but grabbed the wine list away without asking(we asked the waiter to leave it for perusal). similarly, remember the bread/butter? The waiter made his apology for the butter by bringing a «second» bread basket which was hot out of the oven. The hostess shortly thereafter grabbed it away as «you don’t need two bread baskets!» Certainly, we could have protested. But you should not need to do so in this calibre of a restaurant. Finally, again, the food was fantastic. However, I ordered«sweetbreads and lobster» only to find out that I got«sweet BREAD and lobster». Ummm? What? An elegant French style restaurant doesn’t know what sweetbreads should be? Final nail in the 3 star coffin.

Jean-Robert is one of the most talented chefs in Cincinnati. My boyfriend and I frequently dine at his restaurants, and everything that I have tried is excellent. My favorite dish is the Duck Breast and he does a great job with selecting seasonal vegetables and sauces for the entrée. My boyfriend loves the French Château Burger with fries and delicious aioli. JR trains his staff well. After witnessing him inspect/add the final touches(garnish) to every dish that comes out of the kitchen, it’s apparent that he takes pride in his work. The staff are wonderful as well!

I love coming here for dinner because the service is always excellent and the food amazing! This dinner did not disappoint — almost. We were seated promptly and waters were always filled. We were attending a show at the Aronoff, and the waiter was mindful of timing issues. Because of this we went straight for the entrees. Hubby had the duck breast, and I opted for the local chicken. He raved about his; I thought mine, too salty. Sent it back, which I hate doing… and the second round was much better. Would I order it again? Probably not, but I will be back to experience their innovative menu and their lovely ambience!

Bartender disinterested 20th anniversary. No one cared. Wow asked the waitress what the chef recommended and she said he was really busy. Never again. It was sad. I will never go again nor would I bring any corporate clients. Unreliable. Made me feel uncomfortable.

Went with family and did the whole experience. The food is very, very french(butter and sauce everywhere) and the service was absolutely some of the best in the city. Our server put up with a bit that night(birthday celebration and alcohol) and did an incredibly good job, the entire bus staff was also on the top of their game. Everyone ordered a variety of food, and we can definitely say the appetizers were better than the mains; duck confit with mac and cheese was exceptional, so was the foie gras. They had fantastic bread as well. So while everything was awesome, the let-down was with the main courses. Scallops were had, lamb was had and I personally did the filet. My filet was… well, impossible to cut. Not something I’d expect with a restaurant of this caliber. The weird thing was that it was cooked perfectly… it just refused to cut. The overall flavor on the dish was fine, but I attribute that mainly to the sauce. That could very well be said for every other main dish we had; the substance was bland, but the sauce salvaged things. Good and worth a trip!

We went to Jean Robert’s Table last night for dinner and it was fabulous. The atmosphere was warm and inviting with a nice mix of industrial, rustic, and high end glass lighting. I was surprised that for a Wednesday night we were only able to get a reservation for 2 at 7:45 or 6:00. All of their other time slots were already filled by the time we called around 11 am the same day. The food was interesting and well balanced. Myself and my coworker both ordered the specials. I tried a piece of cod covered with puff pastry in a cream citrus sauce and my coworker tried the fillet special with bacon polenta. Both dishes were great! We also had the chocolate macadamia nut dessert which was good bit perhaps too rich after such rich entrees. Overall a very nice experience!

Incroyable! I honestly can’t say anything bad about this place. We went there for dinner on impromptu one week night, and it was simply unforgettable. The service, the food, and the cozy ambiance, all add up to a pleasurable experience of deliciousness and warmth! The wine selection was also superb. We also got to see the chef, Jean Robert himself, and he looks just like how you would expect a French chef to look – utterly eccentric and extremely passionate. The food still makes my mouth water – and it’s been week since I’ve been there. I can’t wait until I find an occasion to go back!

We stopped in for their special All Star Week Happy hour. Wow! We have been meaning to come here for a while and this was exactly the incentive we needed to get in the door. The décor is very fun. Love the brick arches that create private nooks. The bartender was excellent and we even saw JR himself who told us to enjoy. Swoon. We started with a wonderful glass of Cotes du Rhone. And then there was the food. While you are waiting they bring you amazing delicious bread and butter. Then they bring you more! It was quite hard to exercise self control when you have a basket of the most perfect balanced French bread next to you. It was crispy and soft. Amazing. Then came the French Onion Soup. You expect it to be good but it was like a bowl of heaven. Yum. The notes of sherry and the melty cheese; I don’t think I will ever be able to get French Onion any where else. We also tried the cheese plate. Fabulous. It was served with a sweet and spicy jam that paired perfectly with one of the soft cheeses. Those two spread on the bread should have been illegal. We also tried the sliders. The BBQ was good but very Blue Cheesy. The seafood cake was delightful. Flavorful with a perfect texture. But the star was the burger. The flavored were strong but balanced expertly. It was like a party on your taste buds. We will definitely be back for dinner and very much hope they add a regular happy hour. If they do, we will be there quite a bit.

What can I say? Every single time that I leave after having a meal at Jean Robert’s Table I instantly begin to dream about the next time that I will be able to pass through the door. Being someone that believes nothing can be perfect I wish I could find an area in which to be critical of this restaurant, but alas, after several visits I can’t think of anything bad to say. Most of my visits have been during their lunch hours, but I was also fortunate enough to recently dine at Table for dinner as well. To begin– let is not a an afterthought here. I find that many restaurants of this caliber tend to let the highlight be on dinner, but not Table. The French Lunch tray, at $ 15.50, is completely unmatched by any other establishment in all of Cincinnati in regards to their lunchtime offerings. Where else can you receive a salad, soup, entrée and dessert all made with top quality ingredients skillfully put together by a master French chef? I have found myself daydreaming about wandering downtown to have the lunch tray. For starters, let me discuss the soup– a creamy mushroom soup, strewn with meaty exotic mushrooms and laced gently with herbs… a melt in your mouth butternut squash soup that brimmed with the taste of fall– both were spectacular. The other soups were great as well, but those two were extremely memorable. To tackle the question of the salads provided on the tray, well let me say that I have an aversion to bleu cheese but Jean Robert’s blue cheese cream that so delicately dressed the greens made me a believer. Entrees included pork cabbage rolls with a demiglace so rich that I wanted to lick the plate and a bay scallop pasta with scallops so sweet I thought I was dreaming. The actual lunch menu is just as good– the Poached Ruby Trout BLT was a stand-out. The fish is cooked perfectly, rich and delicate– but not overwhelmed by the punch of bacon and a creamy horseradish sauce. Be sure to give that one a try! Dinner was a supreme delight as well. The spring ravioli that I had to start made see peas in a whole new light. The sea scallops were seared to perfection, not a second over or under-done. I thought that the accompanying red wine risotto sounded a bit odd, but again the chef had proven me wrong. It was rich, creamy and perfectly al-dente– with the red wine just providing a gentle backdrop of fruitiness– truly stellar. Of course I couldn’t pass up the crème brulee for dessert and it was textbook perfection; I really can’t say much more than that. Otherwise, the restaurant it beautiful– Gorgeously decorated without being over the top or garish. The service is consistent, friendly and familiar without being too forward. The wine list is well thought out and has good variety of price points. Overall, this restaurant is not to be missed. Do yourself a favor and take the time for a visit to Table, you won’t regret it.

This is a great French Bistro style experience. The staff are professional and knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients. They try to use as much local produce and meat as possible which we love. I have never been disappointed and will keep going back for more when we are down in Cincinnati.

I love all things French and had really been looking forward to trying Jean-Robert’s Table for some time. It’s only appropriate that my husband and I stopped by on the anniversary of his proposal, which happened in Paris. It It happened to be a Monday when we went, so we had the place mostly to ourselves, which was actually nice. I have my anti-social moments and given the intimacy of the venue, it was nice to have some breathing room. The menu is seasonal, with lots of fresh French options and a ton of nightly specials. Presentation is nice and the flavors were all very carefully selected. I wish I could have sampled the wine, because based on the other reviews, it sounds fabulous. I would recommend again. Heck, I’d go back just to split some appetizers and wine! Bön appetit!

Jean-Robert’s Table is a fantastic beautiful restaurant! I went once many months ago, and more recently for their lunch tray. This review is for the lunch tray. Make sure you tell them you’re there for the lunch tray, because it is only served at the bar. It is a $ 15 four course meal which includes a salad, soup, entrée and dessert. Everything we had was delicious and perfectly cooked. Not exactly a first date kind of lunch though. Everything is served at once, and it’s meant to be quick. Great for a lunch away from the office if you’ve got the time, or a meet up with a friend! I can’t recall the first meal I had here, but all I have are good memories of the place!
