I will never again visit this store. In all three of my visits, I left disappointed with the service that I received. No employee has ever approached me, smiled, or asked if they could help me with something. When you ask them questions, they appear annoyed that you’ve interrupted them, and if you bring up any kind of issue, they refuse to make it right. Two of the times that I have visited the store, items have rung up incorrectly from how they were priced, and I was essentially told that I could pay the price they were ringing up or leave. So I left and found a much better fabric store in Newport. It’s worth the drive to get some real customer service…

Small, usually dirty and very hard to get someone to help you. I wish there was another fabric store close by! I usually just get all of my supplies at Michaels next door because they are much friendlier and better staffed.

Worst experience ever. I generally try not to leave bad reviews, but trust me, save yourself from having to work with this store at all costs. Most of the employees seem to not care(which is surprising since there are so many people who are passionate about crafts). We placed a custom order for fabric instore, and while we had our credit card ready to pay, the employee told us we pay when we pick it up. We are ordering almost $ 500 of fabric. We asked how long it would take and how we’d know when it was in and the clerk said«One — Two weeks. Call us or we’ll email or something when it gets in.» The next day the manager called and said that we should have paid at the store and that our order hadn’t been placed. We made the payment over the phone and were told it should be in within 7 days but could take up to 14. 14 days goes by. The order isn’t it. We are missing our timeline to get the project complete. No call from them or proactive contact about our order being late. We call the store multiple times to check the status. Most employees just try to get us off the phone saying«We can’t check the status of your order» or «call back later». Eventually after significant complaining they somehow become able to check the status. Eventually we get fed up. I called the store 17 days after we placed the order and was told that I had to talk to a manager about the order. There wasn’t a manager available. Called the next day. Manager tells us it will be in on Monday(day 20 after placing our order). We make arrangements for the project. Monday we are ready to go. We call the store to confirm(because of course they aren’t proactive). We are told it hasn’t actually left the warehouse yet. So many questions about the terrible service. Would avoid at all costs. Now we are in a situation where we have to wait for them because we assumed they would deliver on time. The problem wasn’t just that the order was late, but that the terrible customer service, having to coax the employees to look up the order or check if it was in, receiving misinformation and not receiving any proactive information from them is what made this a truly unbearable situation.

The space in this store is pretty small, so I felt like I was dodging carts or people when I was trying to find what I needed. That’s obnoxious when you are trying to match fabrics or think through craft plans. It doesn’t seem to be that clean, but I found that Hobby Lobby is the only craft store up to par with that. The parking is pretty easy. The staff wasn’t very friendly, but I did find what I wanted to make a headboard. The savings made the trip worth it. I used the app on my phone to apply the coupons and went a few times throughout the month to save over half on the supplies I needed.

While this store doesn’t have the best variety or the best deals around, I have always found the ladies to be extremely helpful in picking out the right fabrics, accessories, and amounts of everything. They are pleasant and sociable to be sure. Whenever I go up to the counter they always help me out and add coupons that I didn’t even know about! Thanks ladies! You all are the best!

A very regular, albeit small joanns. It’s pretty sad that in most of the country this is the only option for fabric. In order of quantity they carry fabric for quilters, home décor, and apparel. While It’s not my most favorite place in the world, you can’t beat the sales. Every week there’s at least one 40 percent coupon, and a couple times a year they go crazy with 99 cent patterns(normally anywhere from 11.00 — 30.00) and a million coupons. But if not for the sales I’m not sure if I would go here. I mean for one thing, they don’t even carry a regular zipper foot. The manager I think told me they don’t sell any so they don’t carry them. Which might attest to the lack of people who are still sewing clothing versus quilts, or maybe attest to the fact that NOONE really likes getting supplies at joann’s? The staff for the most part is really nice. I get the occasional person who is no help at all, or is really interested in what I’m making to the point in which I feel awkward about it. It bugged me about them keeping sewing machine needles behind the fabric cutting counter. It really gives me no chance to look at what they have and is kind of pointless. I know some stores do this with razor refills, but those can be up to 20.00 $. A five pack of machine needles is like 4.50. They also have some issues with the speed of checking people out sometimes. But to be honest there’s few places nana and her huge penny purse like more than a craft store. If I had more money I’d blow it all at places like sewn and banasch, but sadly, I don’t. Which I think is the case for a lot of home seamstress’s. It sucks, but until joanns stop shoving such huge discounts in my face I’m going to keep shopping there.

I stopped in for a *very* quick trip to get Halloween supplies. I was very pleased to find the costume accessories on sale, and they had the perfect set of fairy wings for my little one. I was able to find several lovely fabrics for our costumes and more! I wish I had some more time to browse the clearance fabric, because there were some beauties on those racks. I had no problems with service, but I can see why others have. I think there were only two ladies working on a busy Friday evening. They were at least kind enough to continue to help me instead of the woman on the phone. This store is too busy to have only two people staffing the store! Especially a place where people often have lots of questions — both of the employees were constantly in motion. It is very convenient to have a Michael’s next door. One of my favorite pre-Halloween destinations!

This is the worst Joann’s I have ever shopped. I have lived in several other cities and Joann’s was my go to place for basic sewing supplies – I now avoid them. The biggest problem with this store is the employees. They are incredibly unpleasant, rude and unhelpful. Just having to interact with them to cut your fabric makes your trip awful. This store is much smaller and more poorly organized than others. Their selection is much to be desired once you have been in a bigger Joann’s, but it does the job. Cleanliness is not this stores forte either. It also sometimes has the smell of cat urine(I wish I was kidding). My mom came with me today and she was wearing white pants — when we left, she had dust and dirt all over her pants that had come from brushing up on a display. If you need supplies other than sewing go next door to Michaels. They are more friendly and will even take Joann’s coupons.

Definitely on the way smaller side. Went on a Saturday evening and employees were less than helpful… well maybe they would be if I could find them. For fabric this is a great selection. As far as other craft supplies go next door to Michael’s. The set up is a little all over the place, and they have basic basic’s to some high end know what you’re doing stuff. But not so much the intermediate hobby what have you’s. Lots of starter kits for crafts too, just not much outside of that.

I have stopped in Jo Ann Fabrics on many occasions to find the solutions to many different problems/issues. Almost every Halloween I run into Jo Ann’s to find decorative fabrics for decorating and making costumes… I dislike store-bought ones but still love costume parties, last year I made a Ben-gal’s costume from scratch with Jo Ann’s help! Jo Ann’s is also great for help with specialized gift giving. One of my all-time favorite gifts to make/give is a home-made pillow. These pillows can be easily customized to the liking of the recipient in question… I make large fleece body pillows for friends who are moving into college dorms and nicer satin trimmed square pillows for those who are buying their first apartments and houses. There are plenty of knowledgeable women who work at Jo Ann’s that will be more than happy to answer your questions about craft making! The store offers every fabric you could ever imagine, from silk to satin to fleece to cotton. Jo Ann’s also offers quite a few different patterns for shoppers, ranging from novice to advanced. This store also features scrap-booking items for those who love to craft but aren’t great at sewing.
