Lovely store, beautiful fabrics!
When traveling I love to stop on at local fabrics stores, and was so happy I did a double take and ventured in. The fabrics are high quality and so unique! It was like walking through a library looking for the perfect book; and I found several modern prints that I could not leave the store without!
The owner was very knowledgeable of the designers and collections, too.

I feel like this is a lovely little fabric store. The price isn’t far off from other chain places, and the women who work here are so helpful! I went in to purchase a zipper and the woman checking me out was giving me free advice on how to use the zipper foot with my machine after I’d told her this was my first rodeo in zipper world! That is not something I have been able to find somewhere like Joann’s fabrics etc. It was a really nice feeling!
The selection of fabric is modern and fun loving! I’ve found everything here from fabric for a blankie for my new nephew to fabric for a clutch purse for my sister! A good range.
It is a little small so don’t go in expecting to find as much as you would in Joann’s or Hancock fabrics… but know that the people who work here are extremely helpful and obliging, and I believe be happy to order something for you if needed.
Over all I would recommend this place if you are new to sewing or advanced ! ! !

Great place to find cute, modern fabric. Do not go to JoAnn’s if you can go local. They have limited stock of zippers, interfacing, buttons and other specific items but as far as fabric goes, everyone should find a print that they love, or 5. The staff is usually helpful if they are not wrapped up in teaching a class when you stop in. If they do not have what you are looking for, they will give you a website or another store nearby where you can find it. Check it out! Great gift ideas for someone craft in your life.

I really love this place. It is small but it has a big selection of adorable fabrics! They all seem so friendly and helpful. My sister is the one who has taken classes here and made a doll for my daughter! I’ve only stepped in here a few times with her and once my daughter came too. She was 18 months old at the time and all the staff was so friendly! She dirtied her diaper while we were there and I was a bit embarrassed because it was very stinky and I didn’t want to leave the messy diaper in the one-​room, adorable bathroom. I asked if there was some place I could throw it outside and one of the ladies working there told me to throw it in the garbage in the store since she was about to empty it anyway. See?! Very understanding, very nice. Also they have dolls and pillows made to show what you can do. My daughter really liked that! She was playing hard with everything and the ladies told me it was fine and that’s what they were there for!

When a quilter travels, she visits quilt shops along the way. I called up a list of Cincinnati, OH quilt shops on Google. When I realized that Sewn Studio is a shop that specializes in «modern» fabrics, I put that on the top of my list!
During our visit, there was a class for kids in the sewing area of the store. They were making pillows by sewing 5″ charm squares together.
I was able to grab a few «precuts,» fabric bundles with one of each print. Got some skulls for my sister. Hubby picked up a stack of bicycle themed fat quarters. I asked him if he’d like me to work them into the «Favorite Things» quilt that I’m making for him. He said yes.
I also checked out the solids section. I got the perfect shade of pale aqua and a rich, saturated coral. Two yards of each. I am going to have fun with these! I noticed that the receipt names each of the fabrics and bundles that I purchased. Very helpful, if you need to know what they’re called in order to get more of the same.
There is a seating area for slightly bored menfolk and others who need a quick nap before they hit the road.
I enjoyed this stop, and even the non-​quilters didn’t seem to mind very much.

One day after stopying to get some tea next door, we stuck our head in Sewn and I am so glad that we did. I love crafts of any sort, but fabric types are my favorite. Sewn has a selection of boutique fabrics that are very fun and modern looking. They are priced higher than your average JoAnn’s or Hancock fabrics, but that is to be expected.

I love this place. I wish that I had more time to go and take their classes. The owners are so knowledgeable and their fabric selection is gorgeous!

This is one of the most wonderful stores in Cincinnati. Great fabric and Wonderful Classes. I have taken classes with both Julie and Melissa. They are wonderful, patient, and inspire confidence. We are very lucky to have a place like this so close to home

If you are in the area, stop in and check out this store. Keep in mind they are closed Sundays, which I wish wasn’t the case for those of us who work business hours and use our weekends for hobbies.
Sign up for their mailing list if you are interested in any of their sewing classes. I haven’t taken them, but a friend who is new to sewing took the 101 classes and enjoyed them.
Mill around the desk of back wall for patterns, I found a little packet with all that was needed to make a coffee cozy. Along with a pattern card to make a fun pillowcase.
Word to the wise no matter the fabric shop and I should have known better, don’t buy a remnant piece if you do not view the whole piece. Nothing like getting home to whip up a café curtain and seeing a giant hole in the middle :(

Fabulous independent fabric shop on the outskirts of Oakley’s business district. After having driven by Sewn for over a year, I finally made time to visit in January, 2012. This store, though compact in size, has an amazing selection of quality fabrics and is simply beautiful to wander around. Since my initial visit, I have taken two classes and shopped for fabric on numerous occasional. The classes rate as some of my all time favorite. Julie, the new store owner, has a style of teaching that is refreshing. As an adult relearning how to sew, I was hesitant at first but with Julie’s instruction and level of attention, I have gone on to finish multiple sewing projects. The size of classes are generally kept to six and this is the right number of students for quality individual and group time from the instructors. In general, I have found all the staff to be helpful and friendly. The pricing in the shop is in line with the quality of fabrics they sell. Sales, though limited in nature, are an opportune time to stock up.

For a recent découpage project, my friend suggested we check out Sewn for some material choices. A fabric boutique, Sewn welcomes customers with small room with walls lined with brightly woven colors. Solids, stripes, patterns, holiday, faux fur, and pop art themes are organized by genre and hue. Styles are funky and modern; not your grandmother’s fabric store.
The ladies behind the counter were very friendly, letting us roll out spools to see what a large section of material would look like. They gave us enough space to browse and weren’t hovering over us, but were kindly available when we needed assistance.
All of the selections are vibrant and high-​quality, which comes with a price tag. We bought three yards of fabric which came to $ 30.00. I was hoping to spend half that, but my friend and I really liked the contemporary pattern, making it worth it. I was impressed with how the fabric was cut. Sewn has a tool similar to a pizza cutter that trims fabric from the spool when aligned with a yard stick. One seamless, clean cut. Wonderful!
Sewn also sells buttons, trim, and other doo-​dads. New to sewing? The shop offers a Sewing 101 class for beginners. There’s a crafting table set up in the rear of the store with machines. While I have some sewing skills, I’ll definitely be back to take a class. These ladies look like they could teach me a thing or two.

Sewn is exactly the classy, beautiful fabric store that will cure you of the chaos at other large chain stores. I have taken three classes with them so far and have gained a wealth of knowledge. I also pretty much want to buy every fabric in the store! Any level of sewer will enjoy what sewn has to offer both in the shop and with their classes. For personal service and fabulous fabrics, this store is worth a visit!

This is such a great shop. There are so many great fabrics here including (but not limited to) Amy Butler and Anna Maria Horner. The staff is incredibly friendly and will help brainstorm projects. If you need help, they are great for advice and resources. Basically I LOVE this store. I have become a regular!

I was quite surprised to find a GEM of a fabric store less than ten minutes away from my house. I recently started sewing, and have been disappointed with the lack of fabrics available at the usual suspect, Joann’s. Sewn really hit the mark when it comes of offering designer fabrics, and a wide variety of them at that! The two most notable offerings I recall were the Moda simple prints, and the huge assortment of Amy butler offerings. They also had a good deal of more «indie» patterns which I definitely have to check out at a later date.
They’re aren’t expensive per say, although it might feel that way to a coupon toting joann’s groupie. I picked up a Moda «dottie» print at about 9 dollars per yard. The prices I saw were between that and 20 per yard. Which is fair, if not really good for high quality printed fabrics.
I also really loved the look of the store. Everything was clean and organized, with a very IKEA feel. There’s definitely no need to root around to find what your looking for. The woman running the store at the time of my visit was great! She greeted me when I walked in and asked if I needed anything. I told her I was just looking, and she was neither pushy nor did she completely disregard me. When I needed my fabric cut, she cut, did the usual what was I making banter, and rang me out.
They also offer classes which I would be very interested in taking if I can manage to find the time! I’d also be very interested to see if they are going to do any type of sales when the next season of a designer’s fabric comes out. Best believe I’ll be there.
I did wish they had more along the lines of sewing accessories and machine accessories. Mostly so I could avoid joann’s all together!
All in all, sewn is an awesome resource for anyone looking for a little something more than what your joann’s is offering. The environment is young, hip and welcoming. You will not be disappointed with either quality or quantity of amazing designer prints!

Finally a REAL fabric store in Cincinnati! I’ve been waiting a looonnnngggg time for this place and for a while I thought I’d have to open up a place myself!
Tons of designer fabrics. Lovely décor. Lots of classes. Fantastic patterns. Friendly and helpful staff. Coffee shop next door. Sewn Studio is a perfect contemporary fabric store.
