It’s not really authentic. They modified the dishes too much and it lack favors. It’s clean but the foods are just ok. The service is slow and it’s expensive.

I’ve gone to this place multiple times during the weekday for lunch during work. Everyone is always so friendly and the food comes out pretty fast. Their meals served on the sizzling stone plate is always great and I am a big fan of their fried rice! I can eat that fried rice for days! The fried scrambled egg on top is perfect! You’ll get a nice Korean sampler bites with your meal. Overall, delicious food!

I decided to give this place a shot and I am so glad I did, it was great. The service was amazing our server was very kind and sweet, she really made us feel welcomed. Moreover the food came out very quick even though it was busy. Everything was really tasty, I had the seafood bimbab and I am impressed, also I had a plum tea that was very very good, I ordered it hot but after trying it I recommend ordering it cold. If you are looking for tasteful Korean food this is the place. I will be going back.

Their Kalbi meat is decent. You are given 5 side dishes, one of them being Kim chi which is delicious. The service is terrible though. We would have to wait so long for our waters to be refilled, or if we needed anything else, flagging him down was difficult cause he would be in the back… but our server was quick to collect our checks. The place wasn’t busy at all when I was in. Overall it wasn’t the greatest first experience.

I came here with my wife, because she had never had Korean food, so I thought this would be a good place to start. First off let me say that I really hate it when restaurants try to pass off Korean food as high end, with a nice décor, but when the food is mediocre at best. This works for the Korean BBQ places, but not for off the menu type restaurants. The restaurant décor was really nice, but the service was barely acceptable, and the food was unimpressive to be honest. The server was inattentive and did not speak Korean. The food was not very authentic. There was very limited banchan(only 5). The menu items were pricey.

I am impressed with the food, but the service is lacking. I hope the level of service I received is not representative if the owner’s expectations. We had to ask for a high chair, and after I requested it, my server assisted two other tables. She didn’t get caught up on the way to get the high chair, she literally went and started doing other things. I eventually searched for the chair myself, and her response was«thank you», with no remorse at all. We ordered the calamari appetizer, which was typical tempura fried calamari; nothing to write home about. Tempura is tempura. They executed it perfectly; there just isn’t much flavor involved with tempura, but that’s not the chef’s fault. Our dishes were delicious. I added the photos and names in my checkin. I’d eat here again, but I would request a different server. We had to ask for the baby’s drink after being visited several times and not asked what she would have. The receipt said our host was Regina. I assume that means our server. Overall, she was very unattentive as if she expected us not to tip well. I did tip her more than I felt she deserved(13%), but less than I was prepared to give. Even that amount was contrary to my level of displeasure; especially after waiting a whole 10 minutes between the time she brought the check and the time she came back to pick it up. Don’t let me discourage you from eating here though. I don’t regret the food experience. Just don’t be surprised if your service leaves more to be desired. Unfortunately, I spent more time yapping about that than the food itself.

This was my first taste of Korean food and I have to say it wasn’t too bad. Got the bibimbap and ate it all. Liked the vegetable dumplings as well. Felt like it was overpriced for what we got but the service was great and the place was clean. Got our food quickly as well.

The service is great and the décor is really nice. The food there is good but lacking to a native Korean palate. The banchan is always changing and its always good when I go. The servings and portions are generous when it comes to the soups and noodles. Many things are very overpriced. The bibimbap is very good but the ddukbokki is watery and bit plain. I take my friends there to introduce them to Korean cuisine and if it was good enough for Choo Shin Soo when he played for the Reds, it is good enough for me.

Recently I came here with a huge group(~12 people), which means I was able to sample a variety of dishes beyond my usual kimchi chigae. There are some hidden gems at Korea House that I’ve overlooked in the past. I. Seafood pajeon(pancake). It was crisp! Even some of the best Korean restaurants can’t seem to make it crisp, and instead it gets soggy. II. Dukbokki. It was only an appetizer, but it had rice cakes, ramen, fish cakes… the whole 9 yards of carby deliciousness. III. Seafood japchae. When the waiter brought out this dish for my friend who ordered it, all of our eyes followed the dish as it travelled around the table and landed in front of him. We ooohed loudly and did not regret oohing so loudly because it tasted BOMB. The seafood elevates regular old japchae to a whole new level. IV. It was frigid outside – I mean pain-in-your-bones cold, and yet I fought my hot tofu soup craving and ordered bibim naengmyun instead, which is usually a summer dish since it’s cold, but Korea House has it all year round(just for dinner). I was so curious because my roommate makes a ridiculously good bibim naengmyun, and yet he RAVES about the one here, so I just had to try it. It was very good! Loved the beef slices in it, and it tasted appropriately sour for this dish. Warning though: bibim naengmyun doesn’t usually keep well in the fridge as the moisture leaves and it gets hard.

Definitely worth going to especially if you happen to stumble upon a Groupon! Food is good and tastes like my grandma made it. We’ll be back!

Pretty disappointing experience even by Midwest standards. Had looked forward to this place based on reviews and potential for solid korean food. Food: Banchan — Bland, not tasty, not fresh Seafood Pancake(Haemul Pajeon) — Okay Pork Kimchi Stirfry(Jaeyook Bokkeum) — Nice presentation, horrible taste. Too much gochujang and the pork had an ‘old taste’ Service — Was good/timely. No issues. Might try again if others wanted to go, otherwise doubt I’d return.

Korea House is one of the more popular Korean restaurants in Cincinnati. It’s also one of the larger establishments. I almost always get the dolsat(stone bowl) bibimbap because it’s freaking great! The parking in the strip mall’s lot is pretty limited, so expect to park over in front of the LA Fitness Club nearby. My most recent trip was a «last lunch» from a company I was consulting for. Most of the team made it for the delicious foodstuffs and it didn’t disappoint. The sushi quality here is good, not great. The soups and kimchi are wonderful though. While the tea selection is lacking, the quality of product is pretty good. If you’re looking to get some Korean food, definitely check out Korea House. Even better if you’re with a group as most other places around town are pretty small.

My mind is blown. I had the shrimp dolsot bibimbop… Holy moly, it was good. The shrimp was cooked perfectly, and the rice was extra crispy. I asked for brown rice in place of white… I was very intrigued when the waiter brought it out and told my I ordered the last«purple» rice? I had never heard of such a thing, but I will definitely be ordering this variation again in the future. Seriously, sooooo good. The sides that are served with the dish are also phenomenal. I will be returning to Korea House!

Came here for 2 year anniversary dinner with Boyfriend… and was sort of let down by the service. The food was decent, but it wasn’t like drop dead oh-my-god-this-is-like-what-my-grandma-makes-back-home delicious. It was definitely tasting good, but for the price of the food, I expected undeniably legit Korean comfort food. First of all, wow service is REALLY biased, and I admit that I am a horrible person for exploiting it(I was really hungry and inpatient… and we drove all the way from UC Main Campus to this place because I was REALLY craving Korean food). Of course, this infamous front host woman was having a row with a couple with a child who arrived at 7:07PM for a 7:00PM reservation. She was telling the couple that because they arrived a mere 7 minutes late, she gave up the their reserved table to another waiting party. There was an empty high-up stool table right next to her, but she pointed out that they had a toddler and therefore could not seat them there. So guys, if you make a reservation, be prepared to show up 5 minutes early… lol. I knew the owner was Korean based on how she was yelling orders in Korean to her husband behind the sushi bar, so when she asked if I had a reservation, I politely told her in Korean that I had just moved to the area a couple of months ago, and that I HAD to have Korean food or I was going to die from homesickness. The woman immediately turned pleasant, sat me & my boyfriend down at the empty table, and repeatedly to check in with us and make sure that we were happy. We even chatted about church, and service was great the whole time. The +1 star was because this place had items like golbaengee muchim(snails), yukhwae(raw beef dish), hwaedupbap(sashimi over rice) and sashimi platters, which are really hard to find in cincinnati. They also use Tong Kalbi Cuts instead of LA Kalbi Cuts, which was surprising & also downright delicious(Tong Kalbi tends to be more expensive, and the meat is juicier/tender because they don’t cut across the grain of the meat like they do with LA Kalbi cuts). The tangsooyook was really disappointing. Service, while pleasant due to my Korean skills, was still RIDICULOUSLY slow. Time management is not their strong suit – the woman stated it was because everything was freshly made, but seriously, even drink orders took quite a while. Oh and also, the other Unilocalers are correct, they really skimp out on the banchan here. For kalbi, tangsooyook(too much gochujang/red pepper paste), a cup of rice drink(shikhae, which was waaaay too cinnamon-y), our bill came out to almost $ 90. Not worth it at all. tl;dr overpriced mediocre Korean food with biased service. Severely disappointed.

I had lunch here last week with my nephew Brandon, not only to experience Korean food, but to get details of his trip to South Korea. He explained the menu(very handy), and I settled on a stone bowl of Mae Woon Dak Bokgum, aka stir-fried chicken with vegetables. I got the spicy version and it was excellent. The food is cooked in the stone bowl and is still smoldering when brought to the table. My chicken was perfectly cooked, tender and just-right spicy. The veggies and rice were also really tasty. The side dishes, which included kimchi and pickled kale were OK, just not my thing. My nephew, however, developed a love of kimchi during his visit to Korea, and ordered an extra side. I will go back to Korean House again!

Bought a Groupon and headed over to Korea House not thinking to read Unilocal first.(Sometimes I just want to go on a whim without reading everyone’s reviews first.) However, when I walked in, the first thing I saw was the infamous white piece of paper with the handwritten«NOGROUPONWITHOUTRESERVATION» sign posted(with tape) on the host’s table. Mind you, it was a thunderstorm, which probably accounted for the nearly empty restaurant(I’m trying to be generous and assume that KH has a better crowd on other Monday evenings.) It took a minute for someone(a woman) to come to the host’s station. When she did, I said, oh it’s just me, but I have a GroupOn. She pointed down at the sign. We both shrugged and I left. Not sure if I’ll make it back up there since the reviews on food at KH are mixed. I have a few other Korean places where the service and food is impeccable. Anybody want a Groupon?

Poor service. Had to constantly remind waiter that we needed boxes, sides, etc. Very stingy with the sides. Don’t even try asking for them to come out prior to your dish(I know they are free, but it’s also the highlight of going to a Korean restaurant). They make sure you start eating your entrée and fill up on that before they bring any sides out. Based on this policy and the«No living social deal without reservation» sign posted on the door when you walk in, I would make the assumption that management is not very accommodating to guests and only focused on profit. I would have given 1 – 2 extra stars for food even if service was terrible but the food is terrible too. Not worth the price. My bimbimbap was stone cold and topped with a small sprinkling of veggies, a bite of beef, and plenty of iceberg lettuce! Will never come here again.

The Korea House is a large, somewhat upscale looking restaurant, tending toward dark, with very high ceilings. Tablecloths, linen napkins, privately owned but not with the feel of a «mom & pop» place. It’s at one end of an ugly sprawling strip mall. A Living Social deal brought us here, and the rumors are true… They strictly adhere to the«reservations required» thing. It’s posted on a paper sign as soon as you walk in. This soured me right off the bat, even though(thanks again to Unilocal) I knew about it beforehand and we did make a reservation. In their defense, this policy is in fact stated on ALL the LS vouchers I’ve ever gotten, but NO other restaurant has enforced it in my experience. As we were leaving, a party of five came in and I saw their faces fall at the sign, and heard the hostess tell them she was sorry but you HAVE to have a reservation and she offered to make them one for 30MINUTES hence, telling them they could go walk around T.J. Maxx and then come back. So, the food: we split the deep fried calamari appetizer, which was very tasty and reasonably priced. Calamari strips, with a batter that was thick but not heavy, nice and crispy. Not sure is this is typically Korean, but I would recommend it. Ban chan(side dishes) were a let down, compared to other Korean restaurants I’ve been to in the suburbs. Only one of the six was really tasty, and the portions were unbelievably skimpy, I mean like a tablespoon full, for two people. Shared Entrees were…1. Kalbi short ribs. This is a signature Korean item but we were let down. While the meat was flavorful, it was very chewy, so much so my husband wanted a knife. Borderline tough. It was advertised as being in a house sauce, but there was no sauce to speak of, making the accompanying rice not at all enjoyable. We ended up putting soy sauce on the rice, for which we had to ask. 2. Je Yook Bookgum a spicy sliced pork with vegetables. This was enjoyable, spice was about the maximum I could tolerate though, and there’s no option to ask for lower(or higher) degrees of spiciness. Service was very, very rushed. We felt like we were being pressured to hurry along. He was cheerful and friendly but not very knowledgeable and lacked professionalism in other ways. Bad habit of grabbing dishes without asking if we were done! My husband was able to grab the appetizer plate BACK so we could get the last of the calamari even as the waiter was crowding us with the entrée plates. However he was too quick for us later on when he swooped by and vanished with the kalbi plate even though there were still vegetables we might have wanted to finish. The final insult was his return with«here’s your check-but no rush» while we were still eating! No rush, huh? Made me wonder if they were instructed to rush the living social people out the door, therefore the need to know in advance about the voucher. So, I’ve had better food AND service in Korean restaurants. Without the $ 24 discount of LS I would really have been fuming. Many many better options to be had in the ‘burbs.
