What can I say…. .best meat department and their private selection brand is top notch.

The staff at this Kroger are very helpful. They’re meats are pretty good and the staff at the bakery counter is super. However, if you want to make any non-American food, or even simply find a good selection of fresh vegetables and herbs, this store might frustrate you. This seems like a meat and potatoes, American essentials, kind of grocery store. Anything related to food from outside of the USA is non-existent, in short supply, or rather old. I come here for convenience, but for vegetables, herbs, and any more unique ingredients I go to the Meijers in Oakley.

The Mariemont Kroger is clean and easy to get in and out. The employees I encountered were very friendly. This is a decent sized Krogers. Prices are typical of Krogers. More expensive than Walmart on most items.

Kroger. It’s a Cincinnati institution. They’re everywhere. As a child, my mother shopped at Kroger. As a teenager, I worked for them. As an adult — well, I’m ambivalent at best. I live near the Mariemont Kroger, to go to one of their rivals I’d have drive another five minutes or so. I’m big on convenience and don’t buy a great deal of groceries at any one time, so I shop there out of laziness. It’s not a bad store. It underwent a complete renovation a few years ago and it’s furnished as nicely as any other Kroger in town. The prices at this location are among the highest charges at any of their stores in an upscale neighborhood. For example at the Mt. Carmel location on SR32 near 275, I typically see things priced about 5% lower. Of course that store is an absolute dump, but that’s a review for another day. The service at this store is spotty. Frequently, there is nobody in the customer center and you have to wait a while until somebody notices. Likewise the self-checkout. If you buy beer or wine, you have to wait until somebody from the regular lanes notices you need help — nobody typically is running the self-checkout section(or they are hiding somewhere). I do prefer this store’s size to some of the new super-mega-giga Kroger that have come into existence in the last five years(Anderseon Town Center or Newport, for example). Those places are ridiculous. All in all, I wish Bigg’s would come back to their former glory of five years ago. That’s really what I am comparing this store to. Judging from the current state of what is now Bigg’s-Remke, I was alone in my opinion, so places like the Mariemont Kroger are what people prefer.

Average prices and often lacking common things like basil or walnuts, even after repeat trips. The staff a very friendly and try to be helpful, however. They have a Redbox near the entrance and a great wine selection.

I stopped here mid party for a few bottles of wine and some pop. Their selection is standard Krogers with a wide variety of reasonable priced varietals. I needed a Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc and found two bottles that fit the bill. As far as the pop goes, their selection of generic Big K diet 2 liters was completely gone(I blame the NCAA tournament) and so I settled on a 12 pack which worked fine. They have self checkout which I love. The attendant actually made me show her my ID for age verification when I scanned the wine. Seriously, I’m old enough at this point to pass for over 21. Maybe I should be flattered?! ha ha. Oh, when I exited the parking lot, it is supposedly a right turn only, so be ready to either«break the law» or turn right and do a U somewhere.

I stopped in to this Kroger one day and it was just closed… I had no idea what was going on… it just wasn’t open anymore. So…that is a strike against this place. But, I guess since there were very few cars in the parking lot I was one of the only people to not know this place was closed. But, they have rehabbed the joint, and made a Small but nice Kroger«mini-fresh fair. I stopped in the other day when I was headed home from downtown, and it’s really nice. They re-did everything. It’s very nice. Stop in and enjoy!
