If I could give this bar zero stars I would. The bartender we had was an absolute prick with no personality. I wish I knew his name, or I’d call him out by name(he had sandy blonde hair). No words were exchanged from the start of the visit to when we closed the bill. I could excuse this behavior of the bar were packed, but there were only 3 people in the place. This is Cincinnati, not New York City, so his pretentious attitude doesn’t play out very well here, even if it is OTR. There are far better bars in the area which we will happily attend. Go to Sundry and Vice, it has a better atmosphere and their cocktails are superb.

This is a solid bar. Every time I’ve been, it’s been fun and pretty laid back, the kind of place you don’t have to shout across a table to be heard. It’s a small space, so it does fill up quickly, but you can tell they have done everything that they can to use the space they have wisely. The Lackman’s menu has a lot of signature cocktails, a pretty lengthy beer list, and a good variety of beers rotating on tap. The last time I went, the bartenders seemed like they were stretched a little bit thin(at 7:00 ish on a Saturday), so getting a drink was a bit of an endeavor. I imagine it would be even more challenging as the night picked up. My favorite thing about this bar is their front patio area!

I love the Lackman. It is definitely one of my favorite bars in OTR. Maybe even my favorite on Vine street. The bar has a cozy vibe and a great atmosphere. I never feel out of place when I walk through the door. They have great draft selections. It can get a little packed but if you get there early enough for come back late enough, you should fit in just fine.

Jam packed crazy, fun and festive during this holiday season. Attentive bartenders. A great place to have a beer, wine or cocktail before or after dining in OTR. Stop by to unwind or extend your date night. Say hello to a stranger or someone you know. It’s just one of those places!

Edgy to a point of annoying. Picked a beer left it near full no comment from bartender.

Had a solid cocktail called the Gertrude– earl grey tea syrup, gin, herbs and whatnot. Drink was solid, bartender was friendly, not too busy on a weeknight. Cocktails were about $ 10, beers $ 6, so not bad. No happy hour deals that I noticed but definitely a nice quiet place to go.

Lackman Bar is the perfect place to get a drink while you wait for your table at one of the busy restaurants in OTR. They have a great beer, wine and liquor selection. It is a small place, but they utilize their space well. The bartenders are attentive and friendly as well!

Came here for happy hour last Friday and really enjoyed sitting at the bar(but unclear if they have a happy hour special). I found the daily drink/beer menu to be a plus since I never know what to order off hand. The bar had a great cozy vibe, with the leather covered stools, dark wood bar/tables, and dim lighting, so it was perfect for a gloomy/rainy afternoon. This place is definitely not meant for large groups. I wouldn’t go with more than 3 – 4 people as the tables won’t comfortably fit more and the bar lends itself to a more intimate gathering, especially during happy hour.

I love spending time at the Lackman Bar. The vibe when you walk in just makes you feel like you are being invited into an ultra-exclusive club with a mysterious ambiance; the low lighting, the boutique tables, and the decorations make the Lackman stand out as quality establishment in Over-the-Rhine. Having visited multiple times, I usually used the Lackman as a venue to pass any wait times for another restaurant, but it has quickly turned into a place I love to visit regardless of the day of the week or time. On the weekends, they do tend to get a little busy, with the total area available for patrons being SMALL. This entails a lack of seating for the majority of customers and an overall loudness to the room with the various conversations, but it is still a great place to visit. The bartenders do their best to make sure everyone standing is served with care and quality and the variety of drink options is on point. If you like a more intimate, but not overbearing, bar scene with plenty of drink options, definitely stop by the Lackman for an amazing experience.

I’ve loved this place ever since I started going there a couple of years ago. It originally was just my holdover bar while playing restaurant roulette in OTR. Lately the more I’ve gone there, not for that purpose, I’ve realized just how nice of a place it is. The inside is trendy and the people there are a bit different than the Main St. Crowd. It has more of a young professional feel than the more artsy feel you get from Main St. I love both and enjoy coming here for a change of pace. It’s also nice that it is only a block over from where I live, so it’s a nice, quick walk. They have a good draft beer selection, as well as a good bourbon/whiskey/scotch selection. The only thing that keeps me from giving it that final star is the fact that I always feel like their rocks pours are pretty weak compared to other places in and around OTR. One shot on a giant ice cube doesn’t really cut it for the price. The staff has always been great to me and are always friendly. The only bad part about this place by no fault of their own, is the fact that it is always packed which can be a bit frustrating. All in all, I love this place and will continue to go back. Oh and they have a great jukebox!

Lackman is a fun spot in Over the Rhine. I came by to meet a friend for drinks and was excited about the cocktails when I saw the atmosphere. I promptely ordered the Whiskers on Kittens based solely on the name. I was happy to see that they lit this drink on fire prior to serving! They also have an extensive beer and wine listing. It was really crowded on the Friday night that we stopped in, but we were pleased to be able to get a table pretty quickly. I can imagine not having a great time if we were not able to get the table, but we did so I can’t complain. Nice, upscale spot for drinks in OTR.

This is a good bar on Vine street. It’s a bit small, and there’s barely room outdoors to drink, so I don’t often end up going there when I have other bar options only a few streets away. The only time I’ve been in there when it wasn’t shoulder to shoulder crowded was on Halloween. I’m not entirely sure why, but it always seems unbelievably loud in there, louder than other bars, and I’m guessing that’s due to the close quarters. But limited space aside, this is a really beautiful bar with a good selection of beer on tap and a nice area to sit in(if you’re lucky enough to actually get a table). I’ve never had the chance to sit in the front by the windows, but I’d love to do that on a warm night sometime. If it had more space, this would definitely be a place I’d visit more often because it’s a genuinely good bar.

I love this bar! I’ve been going here for the last five years and it never disappoints. I only wish it was big enough to hold the flood of weekend people waiting for tables at nearby restaurants. Great selection of beers on tap. If you are feeling in the mood for a nice drink they mix them up right here. I love the staff. They are down to earth and very attentive. I love this bar the most during the weekend when the crowds are small. The space is cozy and chic.

It took forever for the bartender to acknowledge me. He was talking a lot to another patron, but he failed to notice the rest of us at the bar. The Bar back however saw me waiting, but let me know he was not qualified to help me. A few minutes after that the bar back decided my awkward staring was too much to take and decided to get the bar tender for me… so: 1) i’ve had better drinks for that price in OTR 2)I’ve had better service in OTR I’m afraid it’ll be awhile before I give the lackman another chance.

I had a good time here on a Friday night! It was pretty crowded since it is a small space. There were enough stools and booths for those who wanted to sit, which I appreciated. It’s location in OTR makes it a great spot to grab a drink after dinner. I was glad someone warned me before I went to the bathroom that the sink is communal. There is only one bathroom for men and one for women and the sink is outside. The staff is very nice and attentive. The drinks are good with a nice array of craft beer. There are also a few TVs in the bar. Just wish the space was a little bigger, but would definitely go back!

Lackman Bar is a laid back little bar in OTR. There isn’t much to say about it other than it’s a regular ol’ bar in OTR. That’s not a bad thing, though. The best nights at Lackman Bar are definitely week nights. The vibe is much more laid back and the crowd is much smaller. It’s a lot easier to get a seat at the bar or at a table on weekdays than on weekends. Weekends just get too crazy and it’s hard to enjoy yourself. If you’re looking for a regular ol’ bar that’s not to pricey and not too fancy, Lackman Bar is a smart choice.

Perfectly located next to Bakersfield — it’s an ideal spot to hangout while u wait or even to just chill and people watch. The place is small and has that closed ambience that makes you feel closer to your fellow guests. The staff was kind enough to chat with and even went out to their way to make a birthday drink for my wife — have to tell you — it was dangerously tasty — referred to the drink as «Happy Birthday to You» haha but it was incredible in taste — felt there was some grapefruit and citrus flavors mixed in. I specifically ordered the Franz — German Heffeweizen — really tasty — can’t go wrong with the German twist! Overall a good bar to hang out in with the right ambience!

So let me start off by saying that I only visit this spot once a month a most, but I am a huge fan. Back when it first opened, I remember walking in and thinking«this place is packed,» quickly followed by «that’s it?» The place is small, they don’t serve food, and there are no sinks in the bathrooms… BUTTHATSWHATSCOOLABOUTIT! Stop by, have a quality drink, talk amongst your friends and judge the people who come out of the bathroom and don’t wash their hands!

The only thing Lackman’s lacks is space. It’s a very narrow bar, but they do make good use of the space they have — some high top tables, with a long built in bench and a long bar with a good amount of seating… but I have been here a few times when it’s packed and there’s just simply not enough space. The bathrooms are kind of… interesting. One for ladies, one for men, and a shared sink outside the bathroom area… which now makes me think… ew that door handle on the inside of the bathroom must be super germ filled. On to the good stuff… the beer… the pretzels… and the bartenders. So many delicious beers to choose from, amaaaazing crunchy pretzels to snack on that are coated in something that must be similar to crack because they’re addictive. The bartenders seem to know how to manage the crowds and can make conversation when they’re slow. Lackman’s is a great place to swing by for a brew or two if you’re having an adventure day in OTR!
