Wicked good shrimp! That’s right… they have more then lobsters.
Superb quality… had them prepare a 5lb tray for a party and it didn’t last long. Firm and flavorful… not wet and soggy.
Don’t hesitate to serve the shrimp with their excellent romalaude in addition to cocktail sauce… game changer.
Nice guys and super friendly to work with!

This is the best food find I’ve made in years. I have ordered lobsters from them many times. They steam them and crack them and they are absolutely divine. Never tasted better lobsters, even in Maine! Their fish is also fabulous — fresh and tasty every time.

Doing the Cincinnati lobster roll tour at Cindy G’s ( Unilocal community manager suggestion). This was first on our list. Warning: there was only one left in the fridge when we arrived on a Friday afternoon, although they were making more for late crowd. At $ 15, this sandwich kit had about half the amount of lobster of any previous lobster roll I’ve had (and I’m kind of a connoisseur from Cape Cod visits). The dressing was minimal, allowing the flavor of the lobster to blossom. The sandwich kit comes with chips and a pickle — and there is a small but high quality selection of fresh fish to buy as well. Nice.

I’ve been talking about coming here for-​eve-​er and finally made it over here last Saturday. They are a fresh fish and seafood market. I originally thought this was a restaurant because everyone was raving about their lobster rolls. It is not a restaurant but they DO have take home lobster roll kits that include:
— Lobster Salad (which they make from scratch)
— Traditional top cut bun
— Chips
— Pickle
And they even put it on ice for you to take home all for $ 14 bucks a piece which is less than ½ of the price of other restaurants in town charge.
Now here is the story of why this place is so darn great. I called early on Saturday morning just to get the scoop on if this place was open, what they offered etc. they informed me of the lobster roll kits which I was super pumped about and I said, «Ok perfect we will swing by later today.»
Now this joint is at least 45 away from our house. We drove out there and when we go there the man working the counter informed us that they were sold out of the kits and that they go extremely fast. I told him that I had called and he immediately apologized and said the person on the phone should have let us know to order ahead. (So pro tip: call ahead and order kits in advance)
Closing up shop, tired, sweaty and ready to end the day this young man told us to come back and twenty minutes and he would prepare two fresh kits for us. I almost cried with tears of joy! I’m pretty sure he dove into the tank and got the fresh lobster swimming right there on the spot.
I guess what I am trying to say is that this is a place that really cares about their customers. Not only was the lobster roll delicious, but the fact that they treated us like family and made an exception went above and beyond for us. So now I am shouting from the rooftops — PLEASE go visit Lobsta Bakes of Maine for any of your seafood needs. Or if you’re like me and just want to stuff your face with ready-​to-​eat lobster goodness, check out the kits.

I love little local gems like Lobsta Bakes. It’s now on my bucket list to get a big burner and do a lobster boil next summer. They have great fresh lobster prices, a nice selection of prepared foods like Tuna Salads, noodle salads, soups, and crab cakes (delicious, by the way). There are always several fresh fish options and we’ve never been disappointed in the quality. The prices are reasonable for the quality you are getting. The cherry on top is really the staff and Kevin– they are so incredibly nice! They clearly love what they do. Also, any place that quotes Jon Stewart on its website is awesome in my book.
P. S. Try that Maine Blueberry Pie! Delicious.

My first experience with Lobsta Bakes was at a catered Lobsta Bake event. It was so fun and delicious.
More recently, I visited the shop on a Saturday afternoon. There are lots of fresh fish options — all looked very high quality and are flown in daily. We went with prepared lump crab cakes and the last available lobster tail (frozen). One thing I would have liked were preparation instructions for both items. We figured it out though, and were very pleased with the quality and the taste of our items. The prices are a little high, but I think the prices are fair, due to the limited availability of quality lobster & crab items around these parts. The quality at Lobsta Bakes is very good, and the employees are friendly and helpful.

Have just about fallen in love with this place and all those who work there. The best salmon, shrimp & scallops ever and the caper dill sauce is delish! The staff is so helpful with easy ideas on how to prepare & serve. I never knew seafood could taste soooo good! The place was bustling on Christmas eve so I guess they’ve been discovered! Attended an employee ‘lobsta’ party which was so much fun, they’ve already booked them for next year! I drove by many times before I even realized what they did in there! Having a hard time driving by now w/​o stopping! I’m «hooked»!

3.5 stars, but I’ve been rounding up too much recently so I’m sticking them with 3 stars.
Heard about this place last week and checked out their website immediately. They were offering a holiday special with lobster rolls at $ 13 instead of $ 15, so I pre-​ordered two to try it out.
We drove 20 – 25 minutes from downtown to pick them up and see what else they had to offer. There was good fresh fish selection and some frozen items as well. The fish looked good, definitely better than most grocery stores and on par or slightly better than some of the Findlay market vendors… depending on the day. Their frozen items were underwhelming, although the clam chowder looked nice and hearty.
The lobster rolls were interesting. The lobster meat was kept separately in a plastic container and the roll (normal bread really) was in saran wrap. It was probably a smart move so customers could combine the two when ready rather than having a soggy bun. With that said, I wasn’t overly impressed with their version of a lobster roll The lobster meat didn’t seem to have very much flavor and the choice of bread/​bun was different. Finally, the amount of lobster meat seemed a bit light. I could eat three or four of their rolls before filling up. I’ve spent plenty of time in the NE including a couple weeks in Maine and these lobster rolls definitely don’t compare. But we’re in the Midwest and there aren’t a lot of options… guess I’ll take what I can get.

Adore this place! Their selection could not be fresher. The staff is eminently knowledgeable and ultra helpful. Surprise find has been their home-​made Smoked Red Trout. They also have the most flavorful Maine blueberry pies.

If you’re not from cincinnati, you’ve probably enjoyed quality seafood at some point in your life. This is a great spot to have some great seafood, because it’s flown in pretty fresh from all over the place. There is a nice, always changing rotation of choices, so check their website for an updated list. The prepared food is also good if you’re looking for some ready to eat options. Prices are reasonable considering you are paying for top tier seafood, no catfish here. Thank God.

I stumbled upon this place a few months ago but to my dismay it was closed! So I bookmarked it and vowed to return — which I did yesterday. Once the employees learned that it was our first visit to Lobsta Bakes they made sure to explain what was in their cases and tell what was the typical customer favorites. I quickly realized that this place reminded me of my favorite seafood market in Key West — which is extremely exciting!
I was impressed by the fact that all seafood was flown in fresh daily. The prices were comparable to the fish vendors at Findlay Market where we typically buy our fish, and I know that half the fish at Findlay has been frozen. We ended up buying a tuna and swordfish fillet and they were delicious! As we were waiting for our fish to be packaged we were offered freshly cooked seafood burgers and sausages and they were delicious! I didn’t have high hopes since they’re filled with seafood I typically don’t like such as shrimp and lobster but I was pleasantly surprised. If it weren’t for that taste I probably wouldn’t buy those in the future but they’re on my to-​buy list for next time.
A great tip we were given is that if we really want and plan on picking it up after work to call ahead because they often sell out.

Outstanding! Kevin’s attention to freshness and available varieties of seafood is wonderful for anywhere, but especially in a woefully landlocked area! Additionally, they offer a nice choice of pre-​made dishes: the crab cakes are amazing!

The freshest seafood you can get just about anywhere on the east side of CIncinnati. The staff is so attentive, they give you tons of ideas on ways to make the seafood and have recipe printouts to take with you.
My personal favorites are their lobster rolls and anything they smoke (trout or salmon=heaven)
Tip-​Join their mailing list– they email their new fish coming in for the week and you can place an order.

Really wonderful. The building/​house that holds this seafood market is suuuuuper cute (big plaster crabs on the front porch) and the folks who run the market know their seafood (they even helped us carry the tray out to the car). We ordered four already-​prepared lobsters for take-​out. They’ll sell you live lobsters, too, but we weren’t ready for an Annie Hall moment.
The lobster was great! We’ll definitely be back.
