Gary was extremely informed and was able to assist in our mattress shopping experience. Though mattress stores always have sales, I felt the price we paid was great for all that we purchased

We just had a great experience buying our mattress. Kevin really took care of us on price. They also are delivering for free and gave us a bed frame.

How can you tell when a salesman is lying to you? His lips are moving. Before going mattress shopping, I did research via my trusty Consumer Reports. Also, I consulted for mattress brand satisfaction ratings. It’s like Unilocal for bedding. Here’s what I learned: — Don’t buy Serta, Sealy, or Simmons. All have complaints of sagging after the first couple of months. — Don’t buy a one-sided pillowtop mattress, as it cannot be flipped.(Flipping a mattress semi-annually increases its lifespan.) — Quality mattresses cost between $ 700 and $ 1,200. — Look for a large quilt pattern on the fabric for the best cushioning — Ticking, the outermost layer, is typically polyester. Damask is used in high-end mattresses. — Look for a mattress that has a metal rod frame, not just foam around the edge. Foam edges = sagging. Into the store we went. The beds were lined up randomly with different colored foot protectors to differentiate styles: firm, soft and pillow top. We noticed most of the beds in the average price range were Serta, Sealy, or Simmons; many of them priced at over $ 1,000. I commented that the majority of these had pillowtops. The salesman insisted that mattresses without pillowtops were a thing of the past, as was the need to flip a mattress. Red Flag! I call shenanigans! (Later on, a trip to the Original Mattress Factory revealed that flippable mattresses were still on the market, just not sold at Mattress Firm.) The salesman continued to explain that my concern about the Serta, Sealy, and Simmons mattress sagging after a few months was unfounded. This was common in their old models from years ago, but has since been improved. False. A quick reference to pulled up several reviews from Spring 2011 complaining of sagging. At this point, we decided it was time to leave. It turns out that brand name mattresses decided to give you less mattress for your dollar instead of hiking prices. It’s cheaper for them to manufacture pillowtops with foam frames rather than a flippable mattress with a wire frame. As a result, Mattress Firm tries to sell these«modern & improved» mattresses for almost double the price of a quality set. Skip Mattress Firm and find an Original Mattress Factory. They received high customer satisfaction ratings from Consumer Reports and you get a high quality mattress for your dollar.

Last year one of my roommates was in search of a new mattress… so we headed to our nearest mattress store, which was the Mattress Firm in Hyde Park. She picked out a really high quality Full sized mattress for her full/queen bed frame at a reasonable price, $ 500, if I remember correctly. The process of buying the mattress was surprisingly easy, we were in and out of the store in twenty minutes and the mattress was set to be delivered to our house the very next day. Unfortunately, my roommate has a room on the third floor of our house and the steps leading up to it are very narrow. The poor Mattress Firm movers had a difficult time trying to force the mattress up the steps but in the end decided it would be impossible to get up there. So, back to Mattress Firm we went. The manager was at the store when we went and offered my roommate a larger queen mattress that actually folded in half for delivery purposes. She was thrilled at the prospect but nervous to hear the price of the bigger and nicer mattress. The manager calculated a few things and said he could give it to her for only $ 75 more than she had originally spent. She was excited then and even more excited when the folded mattress fit perfectly up her steps. Great service and reasonable prices, definitely a good stop for mattress buying!
