Ok, I was looking for an Ugly Sweater for a party. They have all of the clothes organized by color. Yeah, aesthetically it looks fine, all reds fade to yellows, to creams, to whatever. Well, I’m not looking for a color, I’m looking for something that FITSME. So basically, I had to go through their 50 yards of clothing, checking Every Single Garment’s size tag. It sucked. A lot. If you are Tall, avoid the BS this place. I will not waste my time here again.

This is definitely a fun thrift store. The building is interesting and it’s huge inside! I like the color organization and the staff is always friendly.

I normally start my search for household items at a thrift store or resale shop. I must say however, that has changed due to a number of factors. The prices at the Salvation Army stores sometimes exceed the original price of a new item. I’ve seen knockoff handbags, Louis Vuiton, etc. go for upwards of fifty dollars. Do these people know what is real and what is not?. Who qualifies them to price things?. Very disapointed in the Norwood store. Their recent changes to mostly clothing versus furniture was a bad move. The variety of items are very limited mostly to clothes and odds and ends of glassware, old flowers, etc. Alexandra K. wrote that review in 2008, this is definately not the case today. Who’s in charge of these places. Please stop screwing u p what dosent need fixing!!!

Norwood Salvation Army is in a large building… That’s about the end of the current positives. At one time, it was quite a terrific place for furniture & odd vintage item discovery. That time is no more. The clothing selection has been recently moved into the former furniture & misc. item space quickly diminishing it’s value. Instead of several thousand square feet of furniture, AV equipment, household sundries, toys & sporting equipment, it’s not mostly clothing. For some odd reason, Norwood Salvation Army seems obsessed with organizing things by color. Yes, I said color. Not use. Clothes AND miscellaneous items are arranged by color. It might as well be random. Color might be more pleasing on the eyes, but it’s completely useless. Sizes & item types would be MUCH more useful. Apparently not to SA. I love that the Salvation Army exists and the work it does is good, but this location took a deep nose dive in usefulness for me. The best part was the randomness of the items one would find. There are dozens of locations to find thrift clothing, but Norwood Salvation Army was easily one of the best locations for furniture & house items. It is no longer and that is a sad transition.

This Salvation Army location is one of the largest in the city of Cincinnati. It is also where their main drop off center for donations is located. The donations are then trucked out to all the other Salvation Armies across the city. When you donate clothing here, all the proceeds from their sales go to a good cause. Downstairs there is an extensive clothing selection. The room seems to go on for miles! They’ve really got some good stuff down there, you just have to look for it. I’ve gone home with some gems on several occasions! Then upstairs inside the main entrance is where all the furniture and housewares are kept. This is the best thrift store to go to if you are looking for inexpensive furniture and a large selection. I saw some gorgeous china cabinets going for around $ 50 there today! They have lots of couches, tables, chairs, bed frames, mattresses, shelving, and entertainment centers. In the room behind that is the housewares section. Lots of dishes and knick knacks. The right side of the building is used for an Adult Rehabilitation Center which I know nothing about!
