I love Penzey’s — ever since I first went into one in DC about 15 years ago. They make the best spices and luckily I already love the product because if today had been my first time in a Penzey’s store I doubt I’d be back. My husband and I stopped in this afternoon, somewhat on a whim as I was going to make spaghetti sauce and remembered we were out of oregano. We were not greeted during our visit. Even when the store was empty, not once were we asked if we needed help finding something and at the register I wasn’t greeted when we checked out. We ended up feeling uncomfortable in the store. The last time I’d been there it was such a warm friendly atmosphere. Hopefully this was an anomaly. So, the product is a 5, today’s service a 1. I guess that means I’ll consider this a 3 and update next time I visit.

I love the quality and selection of spices. It isn’t the cheapest place, but you get what your pay for. One of my favorites is Sunny Paris seasoning– it’s good on anything. I like that they have different sizes so you can get something that works for you.

I got my first Penzey spice box as a Wedding gift and have been hooked ever since. I was so excited a couple years ago when Cincy got their first location. This beautiful store has something for every taste. I love their magazine, which is always full of spice options, recipes, and the always welcome coupon! Need a starter list? Here you go: Chicago steak seasoning, Raspberry Enlightenment(for raspberry mayo), Pasta Sprinkle, Fajita Seasoning and last but not least… Mignonette Pepper! If you love to cook, this will add some much fun to your next dinner. Enjoy!

Located in Hyde Park Plaza near Smoothie King, Petco, Biggs. This place is awesome. When I walked in, I could not believe how much spices this place carries! I needed cinnamon for my sweet potatoes. I did not know there were more than 4 different types of cinnamon. The staff was super friendly and helpful. She was very patient with all my questions and was even educating me on their spices. Pricing is not that bad, I thought it was fair. You can get them in different sizes, depending on how much you are going to use the product. I will be returning to try their other products.

A great place to find ethnic blends & sausage spices. The 3 jars I bought cost about $ 10. They are conveniently located near Rempke’s & kroger, so you can plan a great meal on the fly. Its a good store in a good location.

I went in looking to get great spices, and that is what I found. But the employees were very rude and I was rather dissatisfied with the service they provided me. I am not very well experienced in cooking, and they proved not to care to help me as much as I would have preferred. Seeing as I was the only one in there, they could have spared a moment to stop chatting about how they couldn’t use sassafras in this dish and had to switch. I would try to find somewhere else next time with better service if I wished to learn more about spices.

Penzeys Spices is a great store and I am thrilled they decided to open one in Cincinnati. The store is located in the Hyde Park Plaza near McDonald’s. They carry a large variety of spices, and it is a rare occasion when you can’t find just the right seasoning for that special dish. Not only is the quality of the products they carry excellent, their prices are reasonable as well, which makes them great for serious cooks as well as novices. Just walking into the store is a treat because of the wonderful smell of all the spices in the air. You can sign up to receive their catalog, which contains recipes and coupons in addition to a bunch of fluff stories and testimonials. I visited this store soon after it opened and was not disappointed. I’ll be doing all my spice shopping at Penzeys from now on.
