Our book club met there tonite for pizza&salads and we really enjoyed the meal. It’s eclectic in design, homey feel. Everything was really good and their key lime pie is supposed to be wonderful. There are cards in some of the booths so you can play while waiting. This is a place worth checking out.

This was a great experience with friendly service and great food! Good selection of craft beer and good selection on the menu. Ordered Goat BLT and peasant which were fabulous pizzas. Would rank the pizza crust right up there with Deweys! Definitely visiting this local again!

One of the best grinders EVER! I had the Suicide and the four of us had the Goat BLT as an app — both were incredible. Red Rose is small a large second side that they don’t use. Go to this place — you will not go wrong. All 4 people that went loved everything we ate.

So we just moved to the area and this is the BEST local spot. I am so excited to be able to walk to this. Great staff, so friendly and fun to talk to. We have actually had take out from here twice, but I am dying to go and just watch the game here. They LOVE avocado… probably as much as I do and so you can get it on EVERYTHING! If there is a special with Av on it, be sure to try it, it will knock your socks off!

Red Rose is good. The décor gave my table a lot to talk about, as it is ALL over the place as far as themes go(which I kinda like!). The calzone was not my favorite, as it was very heavy on cheap ricotta. But the avocado garlic bread, like the two best things in the world, was fantastic. There are a lot of odd combinations like the avocado garlic bread on the menu, all just weird enough I want to try them.

Just found this place this afternoon even after driving by it a few days ago. I had the«Lotsa Meat» pizza, and it lived up to the name. Red sauce was really good. Not too sweet, not too tangy. Perfect! My wife had the veggie delight. She really enjoyed it. The pizzas came out fairly quick and were hit, but not so hot as to scald your mouth when you take that first bite. We also had two small salads with the homemade Italian dressing. Excellent dressing! We definitely will be back and bring friends!

My only wish is that I had found this place sooner since it’s so close to home! I love anything there with goat cheese, especially the peasant specialty pizza. It’s so soft and delicious. Like biting into a dream. Or a cloud… Mmmmmm I love their home made salad dressings too. Perfect date or family place to eat. I’ve eaten there 3 times now in the month and a half I’ve known about it and am excited for the next :-)

Delicious, fresh Italian food! Mother and daughter owned. I had my retirement party there and the staff was courteous, helpful, and professional. Great pizza options and my favorite minestrone soup.

Loved this place before I became vegan. It was my favorite place in Cincinnati to get thin crust pizza. After having an amazing cheese-less mushroom pizza at Catch a Fire pizza, I was so excited about going to Red Rose and ordering a cheese-less mushroom pizza. I got the attached pizza. I couldn’t believe how few mushrooms there were and no oil, etc. It’s as if people have no clue how to cook when you ask them to take dairy away. Also pictured: the avocado garlic bread. Inventive. It was okay. The ketchup for fries came in disposable packets. A lot of their food seems a little not classy, but their pizza(before the cheese-less request debacle) was very good.

I’ve been eating at Red Rose for several months now and I really enjoy their pizza! It is delicious. I also like the variations of sizes you can order from. I highly recommend this restaurant. Also, the staff are always kind and happy to assist you with your order.

My first time eating here, I thought it was fitting to find a place to eat at which shared my last name ^_^ I enjoy their décor, and hospitality, and they were very accommodating to serve my food without cow dairy, which I really appreciated. They are quaint and don’t have a ton of tables, but they did have nice couches and places to sit at in the bar area while waiting on a table. We got cheese-less garlic cheese bread, and OMG it was SOGOOD! and messy too, from all the garlic butter, but there were plenty of paper towels right there at the table(a whole roll in fact). I also created my own 8″ pizza, with white sauce, no cheese blend, and toppings were feta and goat cheese, plus pineapples and sweet red peppers, and it was very very good. I plan to come back here as often as possible. I even talked to our waitress about the possibility of having an opportunity to show some of my photography work there, she referred me to call the owner which I will be doing just as soon as I get my voice back(sadly I lost it due to some awful ickyness in my throat the next day).

Myself and another friend decided to go on a greater Cincinnati tour to find the Best Cheese Pizza. Despite the crap I get for loving and ordering plain pizza the way I do, she and I wholeheartedly agree that, if a restaurant cannot master the basics, how can it be considered quality? A group of five of us met at Red Rose for pizza(and salad and breadsticks with cheese and Goat’s BLTs) and, upon walking in, we found seats at the front of the restaurant near the window. I loved the interior, the service was great(even if a little slow), and there was even a parking lot in the rear, which made for a much less stressful event than worrying about street parking. The food was also really good. The breadsticks were interesting because they weren’t fluffy like you’d think they would be. Instead, they were flat like pizza, which was fine. The ranch was pretty good, I generally liked the Goat’s BLT(86 the T), and the pizza was also very good. There was plenty of cheese on top, it was cooked perfectly(hardly any brown in the cheese), the crust was crunchy, and I decided that, next time(and there will be a next time) I will get light sauce.

I have been to the Red Rose twice, once before they got their Liquor License and once after the area was declared an entertainment district, zoning that makes it both easier to get the license and less expensive for the business to do so. If you do not want wine or beer or liquor, they have Coke Products. The food is very good. They have half and full sized salads; the latter make nice meals. Their $ 10 chicken salad, for example, comes with goat cheese and Avocado dip, as well as garlic toast. They have a number of different size pizza’s, from 10″ to 28.” Two of us shared a 14″ vegetarian pizza and had pieces to take home. The crust was crunch, almost pastry-like. Our friend has a 10″ BLT Pizza which she liked.

Great service and a very nice atmosphere. I had lasagna. It was good(Ha! I originally mistyped«It was food» — well, it certainly was!). The lasagna was served with two slices of garlic bread. It was tasty. Several folks in our group got pizza. They looked amazing! Next time I’m getting pizza. As nice as dinner was, we took a moment to explore the room next door. It’s not open yet, but will be when Red Rose gets their liquor license. The bar in the other room is gorgeous! The comfy seating is already set up. There is a game area in the back as well as a stage. Once this side opens, Red Rose will be just about the coolest hang out in College Hill. Thanks to my friends for introducing us to Red Rose.

This is a great addition to the west side of town! I’ll definitely be back. The pizza was very good, especially for the price. The salads were great and hearty with a nice homemade vinaigrette. On both the pizza and salads, they are generous with toppings. And the toppings seem to be of good quality. Because it’s BYOB, two of us had a great meal(2 salads and enough pizza for leftovers) for about $ 30. The service is a bit slow but super friendly. Because we got salads, I didn’t mind waiting for the pizza. It’s completely run by a family of 4, so there’s a lot of heart in what they do. The décor is warm and inviting, and it seems like maybe they are adding a separate bar on one side.

I really wanted this place to be awesome. I was disappointed though. It just seems mismanaged. There were light bulbs out. The hostess seemed unpolished. The food took a while and it wasn’t even busy. They’ve got some work to do. However, their salads were pretty darn good. The waitress was super friendly. And the pizza wasn’t half bad. My 3 stars are because at the end of the day it’s still a fairly decent place. Btw — Seems like they’re positioning themselves more as a bar/nightclub than restaurant, which is disappointing.

Yup service needs a little work, but the food was good. It took about 40 minutes to get a 12″ pizza with only 8 or so patrons in the restaurant(3 tables). We got Greek salads with balsamic and thought they were pretty good. The peasant pizza with goat cheese, pep, spicy sausage, banana peppers and red onion was awesome although, as expected, a little heavy. Tag on BYOB and we’ll be back…

UPDATE: After several months, we were in a good mood and decided to give Red Rose another try, hoping that they just opened a little too soon before they were ready the first time we went… We were PLEASANTLYSURPRISED! The service was attentive, fast, and accurate! The pizza was great! The atmosphere was enjoyable! We will definitely go back again and again! This was such a better experience than the first time that I had to come back to my original review and make some adjustments. They went from one star to FIVESTARS! They also do carry-out! Don’t waste your money at LaRosas… go to REDROSE!!! ================================================= We tried eating at this new College Hill restaurant last night…“tried” being the key word. When we walked into the restaurant, there was no host/hostess to greet us, so we weren’t sure whether it was seat yourself or wait to be seated. We were eventually told it would be a 35 minute wait, but then we were seated 2 minutes later. Okaaayyyyy… Ice water was served in disposable plastic cups. Yes, not even hard plastic or real glasses. Disposable glasses. The menu was printed on computer paper; three pages stapled together. Pretty classy if I don’t say so myself. Then we were told that it will be at least a half hour before any appetizers would come out, and at least an hour before any pizzas would come out. Huh? Not sure why it would take THAT long, since there were only approximately 11 tables in the whole place. We ordered one appetizer and two 8″ pizzas, none of which ever arrived. After ONEHOUR and not even so much as an appetizer being served, we walked out. Service was absolutely horrible. Couldn’t even get anyone to refill our water glasses. At one point, one of us left and walked down to Marty’s Hops & Vines to buy a bottle of wine to bring back because they don’t have a liquor license yet. The server said that she would bring us some wine glasses for our wine, but then we never saw her again. Our server was nice enough(the few times that we saw her) but the woman standing behind the counter was about as friendly as a brick. The apparent owner of this establishment was wearing shorts and sneakers, which was odd given the nice décor of the restaurant. He spent at least 15 minutes chatting up a table of drunk Wyoming women when he should have been in the kitchen trying to figure out how to get food to the customers in a timely manner. I was under the impression that the owner had previous restaurant experience; from the looks of things, it was purely Amateur Night at Red Rose Jems. The restaurant décor is the only good thing it has going for them at this point, but it was obviously two businesses at one time because there is a wall and door right down the middle separating the bar side from the dining side, which is very confusing because you can enter the establishment from either side and there is no one there to greet you or assist you in any way. There is no sign on the outside of the restaurant, other than«Open.» Good luck finding the place if you’re not familiar with the area. Seriously, who opens a restaurant and doesn’t advertise it with a sign on the building? If this place continues to operate the way that it does, I will be truly surprised if it is still open six months from now. So far, the Red Rose is a dead rose.

Glad to see someone has been able to capitalize on the old Shhhh… space. This truly is a nice venue that should be a fun spot once they’ve got it all up and running. There is a nice bar area, DJ booth, and dance floor. The owners are looking forward to theme nights once they’ve gotten their liquor license. On the restaurant side– Red Rose offers some delicious soups and grinders(think toasted subs). Pasta was decent but the sauce could use some more flavor. Overall, not a bad«red sauce» Italian joint in an area of town that sorely needs more legitimate dining options. Service was nice and the prices were quite reasonable.
