Rock Bar and Lounge

Dear G-​d why?
Atmosphere was cool, but damn. The guy behind the bar was… well… terrible. He can jungle bottles all damn day, but making a drink is not his «specialty». I ordered a daiquiri (a basic drink with three ingredients). I was told, «we don’t have a blender». You don’t need a blender to make a *real* daiquiri — white rum, lime juice, and sugar or simple syrup in a frosted glass. And it certainly isn’t made with coconut rum. The guy argued it didn’t have coconut rum in it. Funny, I could taste it. I suggested he use Bacardi Silver next time. He informed me it was $ 3 more (he sure didn’t mind the price difference for the drink my partner ordered). I felt it frightening that I had to tell a bartender how to do his job. If you want a real daiquiri at Horseshoe, go to Margaritaville — from reading the menu, it’s the closest thing you will find. My partner ordered an Old Fashioned. An Old Fashioned doesn’t need to be a fruit salad soaked in bourbon. It’s a relatively simple drink. If I am going to pay $ 21.50 for two drinks, they better be quality drinks. The drinks were literally so bad, we did them as shooters (it was the only way to drink such horrible libations without wasting money) and got the hell out of there. Juggling bottles does not a bartender make!

Bait and switch. $ 5 Martini special. Bartender pretend to be clueless on special. Had to wait and speak to the beverage manager. I should of got the first round free. Not happy :’(

Not bad, although they do need a wider crest beer selection than they current have at this time. However, I do love the music on the playlist which just kicks better than many other places around Cincinnati. And for happy hour they do run specials on domestics, wells and three olive martinis.

I love The Rock Bar! It’s my favorite place to hang out! The bartenders always remember my face and know what I want as soon as I walk up to the bar!
The music and energy is always great inside the Casino!
