By far the best Chili this Cali Girl has ever eaten!!! The Greek salad was amazing one of the best I have ever had and the Chili 5 with max was to die for!!! My husband got the hotdog and chili and baked potato and was in heaven! The hot sauce was so good and spicy I actually bought one to bring back home. The beer were $ 3.50 and our entire meal was $ 29! The waitress was so nice and made us feel like we were long time patrons! I must go to if in this awesome city!

Finally got a chance to sample real Cincinnati chili at Skyline. It is more like a meat sauce than standard chili, but the spicing makes it so unique tasting. My sons girlfriend’s family lives in Cincinnati area, so she always brings us back a 4-pack. Last comment-that knucklehead Anthony C’s post is ridiculous. Hey chump, the chili cheese sandwich is on the same page as the Coney dogs, so YES it does come on a hot dog bun.

This place is a must try on a visit to Cincy! I wasn’t sure what to expect but it’s cheap and is as good as advertised. As everyone says, it’s not spicy chili and has a cinnamon flavor so know that going in. Service is VERY fun and friendly(must be from being so close to the South) and if it’s your first trip they bring you a chili sample and have you wear a plastic bib. I had the large chili 5 way(pasta, chili, beans, onions, cheese) and despite being starving I was only about to eat ¾ of this monster. Sweet tea was excellent as well, which was a shock for me as I didn’t expect it in Ohio. Only bad thing is this location closes at 7pm during the week so plan to go for lunch or an early dinner.

Had a meeting across the street and was dying for some food before my flight back to Chicago. Three coworkers and myself went there on the tail end of lunch rush. Superfast service after being immediately seated! The waitress was super prompt, super courteous, super nice. The food on the other hand, at least for me, left a lot to be desired. The two Coney dogs I ordered were heavy on cold cheese and had very very very little chili. Seemed kind of weird. The waitress described them as «pure beef chili on top of a not pure beef hot dog, covered with cheese and onions.» She nailed it perfectly. The hotdogs were those kind of mechanically separated chicken and pork and beef variety. Very unappetizing. My coworkers enjoyed the other dishes but also commented on the cold cheese factor. For a $ 1.39 each I would gladly pay an extra 50 cents to have a pure beef Vienna hotdog. Oh well, live and learn. Nice clean facility with friendly people, just was expecting a little bit more comfort in the«comfort food» I ordered.

This place is so horrible. I thought the cheese would be melted, but instead it’s frozen like a rock. My chili cheese sandwich came in a hot dog bun. The chili isn’t even good. It looks like cow feces and taste like cow feces. Worse place ever. If you want to have your taste buds ruined; come to Skyline Chili.

When they say that Cincy chili isn’t always enjoyable to out of towners, I didn’t know what to expect. This restaurant in particular seemed very hospitable and when they heard it was our first time, they even gave us some small samples of the famed three way. I can’t say that I loved this chili, but it also wasn’t the worst thing ever. I can’t complain about the price at all and coupled with our waitress being so peppy and welcoming, I still enjoyed my experience. Just to reiterate though… Spaghetti(especially mass produced overcooked spaghetti) with chili just isn’t for everyone.

First time in Cincinnati, so had to try their chili. Hubby ordered the traditional chili over pasta with cheese. He loves pasta and cheese, but not Skyline’s chili. I tasted it and found it had an overpowering nutmeg flavor. I know from having lived in Greece for several years that Greeks use nutmeg in some of their ground meat dishes, but I never tasted it as strong as Skyline. I had the Greek wrap. It contained great ingredients — chicken, feta, black olives, greens, etc. I couldn’t understand why a dish with such great ingredients could have no flavor at all. The wrap was not cut into two pieces as most wraps are, rather the waitress brought over serrated knife when she brought the wrap. When I cut it in two, a load of liquid came out. I’m not sure what that way, perhaps the flavor. I know that Skyline is know for their fast service. I suggest that instead of focusing on fast service, they focus on the food.

This is a super busy location! I have started coming here recently, as my co-worker has introduced me to their BLT wrap! I’m not really a chili fan, and the wrap is a must try! The staff is super nice, and they are able to quickly move people through the line. This is a perfect place for a quick lunch downtown(seating is sometimes hard to come by, so I usually do take out).

If you like cinci style chili then this is as standard as it gets. Had the 5 way and a coney– both were good but am overall just not as into that style of chili which is more meat sauce than anything. Also watch out for the hot sauce, it is pretty potent.

During a recent trip to Cincinnati, my boyfriend and I thought we better try Skyline. It’s silly because they have them in Northeast Ohio, but I’ve never tried it so we decided to give it a go for a quick cheap meal. It was so terrible that I don’t even have much to say about the food, other than it’s terrible. Our waitress was friendly and inviting, explained the signature dishes to us and served us promptly. Everyone in the store(including a nearby patron) was really excited that it was our first visit. I read the back of the menu describing the founder of the restaurant and how he dreamed that he could share the Greek recipes from his childhood with the world. Chili? Greek? Okay, then! When the chili 5-way was placed before me, I was excited. It was cold outside, I love chili, who doesn’t love noodles and gobs of cheese? ITWASTERRIBLE. These maniacs put cinnamon in their chili! CINNAMON! I don’t think it had even a dash of chili powder. If this is what Greeks think chili is, I can’t begin to understand why. The little crackers were good. The waitress was absolutely a doll. Everything else was terrible. This may be a preference thing, but to me, if it tastes like cinnamon it’s not chili. I ate a cinnamon roll the next day to try to recover from the trauma, but even the roll seemed to be not quite right. Hopefully I recover soon. I won’t be eating chili in Cincinnati anytime soon!

I really dug it. Had the 5-way(twice) yep, stuffed my fat face. If you’re expecting southwestern style chili mosey on back to El Paso because this is more of a spaghetti dish with a chili-esque meat sauce that’s a bit sweet. I really liked it and our server Margaret couldn’t have been cooler and more courteous. Thank you Queen City. Unfortunately I live about 300 miles away, might return in August, but until then I can always write poems about it!

I’ve been eating Skyline close to 30 years and I don’t intend on stopping. It’s THE Cincinnati food. If you’re from out of town and have never had it before, you’re either going to love or hate it; there’s very little grey space between those two emotions. It’s a comfort food for me. I can’t accurately describe how happy and at home I feel when taking that first bite out of a cheese coney. I don’t even know how to properly review Skyline. It has just been there my whole life and I could never NOT eat it on a weekly basis. It’s the quintessential Cincinnati chili experience. I love this place and it’s great. That my straightforward summary.

Skyline Chili is the best Cincinnati style chili in town. Cincy chili includes spaghetti, chili and grated cheese for a 3-way; add onions for a 4-way and add beans for a 5-way. All are awesome choices. Really hungry? Then add a cheese coney which is a small hotdog on a bun covered with chili and grated cheese with your choice of onions and mustard. This downtown Skyline is one of the busiest in town at lunch time but they are also one of the quickest and best. They are always friendly and aim to please. Cincinnati style chili is a favorite of Cincinnati natives and those adventurous enough to try it. As a University of Cincinnati student I learned to love Skyline and now it’s in my blood. Highly recommended!

Although I wasn’t very impressed with the chili(I like Texas chili) — Skyline employees were fantastic! When word got out that we were from out town, the GM came over to get to know us and made us feel very welcome. I recommend a visit!

I came here with a few friends last weekend before a football game for dinner(was not too busy, just moderately) and after a few minutes, a waitress seated us in the back corner. I don’t know if we just came on a bad day, but no one came to see us for literally 15 minutes, not even for drinks. After giving them too much patience, I got up and had to hunt down a waitress myself to ask for our order to be taken. She briefly apologized and another waitress came 5 minutes later. I understand we were in a corner, but the waitress had known we were there since she seated us. Of course the food was fine as always. and when the waitress did wait on us, she was great… but we spent an extra 30 minutes there than we anticipated and had to rush to the game. IF I come back again and have a better experience, I’ll update my review. but I was pretty disappointed in the service here. The main plus was that they do serve a small selection of beer here.

I think this is my favorite Skyline location in town. I’ve been coming here my whole life and have never had a bad experience. They’ve always been everything all the locations strive for: courteous, quick, and delicious. I also love the location. It’s a bit away from the hustle and bustle of Fountain Square, but still easily accessible from anywhere downtown. We took some friends from out of town there on Saturday, and upon learning it was their first Skyline experience, our waitress brought out samples of the chili for them and went above and beyond to endear our local tradition to them. And it worked! Keep up the good work, guys!

5 way! Hell yes. A co-worker from Cincinnati told me I had to try this out. I did and it was well worth it! I think the 3 way just doesn’t give you the full chili taste. I heard many people saying they could taste the cinnamon. I wasn’t able to. The staff members were friendly and accommodating. I thoroughly enjoyed this meal!

I was told there were two things I needed to try when I visited Cincinnati, the ice cream and chili. Everybody kept reminding me that their chili was unique and not to expect a hearty bowl of thick stuff, but as a chili lover, I didn’t really care what form it took. On our lunch break, my team and I walked over to the nearest Skyline for their delicious chili. Since I was here, I needed to try all of their most popular stuff. I got a small 3-way, their spaghetti with chili sauce, and a couple of Coney dogs. Despite their sloppy appearance, I kinda liked the 3-way and the Coney’s would make for great stoner food. I’d definitely come back and score some more chili and carbs for lunch, but beware, this stuff will put you to sleep. Service was really friendly and, despite my being a total tourist, treated me like I was a local. It’s an unusual style of diner plus fast food, but it definitely had a homestyle feel. Lunch lines get pretty crazy, but even so it’s pretty easy to get a table. I don’t think I could eat it every day since it sort of lacks in the variety department, but it’s definitely a nice splurge now and again. Food: 7⁄10 Service: 9⁄10 Price: $ Atmosphere: 7⁄10
