My hubby and I stopped by here for lunch. We aren’t usually in this area, so we checked Unilocal!of course! There was only one other person in here on a Monday at about 1PM. I was a bit worried. Add onto this fact that it is in a converted fast food restaurant, so I didn’t get my hopes up too high. The tables were clean and the Latina server approached us promptly with our menus. We were tempted by the beer and margarita signs, but we opted for ice water. Perhaps another time when the disco ball is lit and turning? Yes, there is a disco ball. We also noticed a sign for karaōke… but onto our food. I ordered tacos. Now there were two kinds. I asked for the server’s reco and she pointed to the less expensive ones. I was leaning towards those since they had cilantro, and I got one chicken and one carnitas. Each taco had two corn tortillas and were topped with cilantro and tomatoes. The chicken meat was a bit dry, but I would definitely order the carnitas one again. The seasonings had a really nice flavor. We also ordered a side of rice and beans, as the tacos were a la carte. I would forego them next time… maybe. I do like to use them as a dip for my chips. Hubby ordered a burrito, and it was stuffed with rice beans, and meat. I believe he ordered the carne asada. He was very happy, though he said he would try something else next time. Would I try this place again? Yes! I think it was very authentic, and the prices are very reasonable!

I was wary at first. Mom & Pop Mexican food is always a gamble. This was some of the best Mexican food I have ever had. I was extremely happy, and wanted to order seconds in minutes. I am pretty confident in saying that this is my new go to place for Mexican. Great job guys Delicioso!

As I have said before but more than happy to say again GREATFOOD! This is a great mom and pop type authentic Mexican restaurant. I have yet to have something off the menu that I did not like!!! The food the service even the music is nice. I have been to many other place but this is definitely top of the list!!! If you don’t know what to get try the steak or chicken quesadilla grande. It comes with beans, rice, lettuce, sour cream, in a flour tortilla. It’s a very large portion!!! You can’t go wrong with that. Don’t forget if you love guac or you wanna try the real deal, here’s the place to get it!!! Also one more thing if you have Verizon rewards you can redeem like 5000 of your points for like 15% off!!! winning!!!

Solid, authentic joint. The horchata was delicious, and the spicy salsa ISHOT, coming from someone who regularly uses ground habanero pepper as a seasoning. They do not have ground beef tacos here, but the carne asada is very tasty. Loco style might not be for everyone. We ordered chicken enchiladas expecting the usual sauce and sprinkle of queso blaco, but it was doused in sour cream and lettuce as well making it very cream heavy. I thought it tasted good, but my husband who is not fond of sour cream ended up scraping most of it off. It’s not the traditional way of serving it. We also had the pozole, which was hearty and not salty at all. The sopes de carne asada was tasty and a good portion. We would return but ask them the hold the sour cream on the enchiladas.

I was nearby so I decided to try this place on a whim. Delicious, authentic Mexican food. It reminds me of a place I might find in Southeast San Diego, and the food reminds me of street tacos in Tijuana. The horchata was delicious, as were the carne asada and carnitas tacos. The salsas were good, but the red one is quite spicy, so be warned. I’d come back when I’m in the area.

Although I am most fond of Taqueria Mercado both in Fairfield and in downtown Cincinnati, Taco Loco is a great alternative to either and cheaper, just no table service; you order at the counter. If you are looking for tortas, Taco Loco’s tortas are better than Taqueria Mercado in my humble opinion. And, at least on the occasions I have been there, I think that their carne asada is superior to that of taqueria Mercado. The tacos at Tacqueria Mercado are marginally better, better tortillas. That would make it, for the price, the best authentic Mexican food I have had that I’ve had in the United States outside of a few really authentic places including Texas near the Mexican border. As far as the cleanliness remarks go, I think the bathroom is the cleanest bathroom I have ever seen in such a restaurant.(It’s kind of a hole in the wall, former fast food joint?)

If you want Tex Mex don’t come here bc this place serves authentic Mexican food. I think this was my biggest craving while pregnant but I love it regardless. Try the Enchiladas Verdes, wonderful chicken, green sauce, guacamole. & I appreciate their real Coca Cola w SUGAR& not high fructose corn syrup. Yum My husband loves the burritos. We frequent this restaurant often.

BEST most authentic Mexican I have found in Cincinnati, I am a California native and I gladly drive 30 minutes to enjoy their carnitas or anything. the place is not much to look at but I do not care it’s like going home. Burritos are big and tasty, tacos are perfect with just meat onions and cilantro their tortillas are perfect. I’m drooling writing this. also horchata.

Ordered four tacos two chicken, one steak, and alpastor all on corn shells. This place was very clean on the inside as the exterior makes you think twice about coming in. The waitress was very nice as soon as I sat down she brought over chips and salsa. Good came quick and it was very fresh and definitely authentic. This place is a hidden gem and definitely worth the experience. While all tacos were good my favorite was al pastor taco with cilantro and onion.

My favorite taco joint just closed and so I decided to try Taco Loco after reading the reviews on Unilocal. This place was very disappointing in both food and service. I ordered guacamole and two tacos. The guacamole just didn’t look right — it was more yellow than green and the avocado part was sparse compared to the other ingredients. Upon tasting it — it was evident that the avocado had turned and there was too much lemon juice to cover it up. The tacos were good but nothing to write home about. My server did not stop back to check on my food or refill my empty drink. I walked up to the counter to pay. I mentioned the guacamole situation and she just told me that it was as usual. I paid with my card by habit. After she swiped it she pointed to a sign behind her about a minimum charge and charged me that full amount. Had I been told that before she swiped it, I would have paid cash and paid less.

Don’t let the exterior of the place discourage you. This place has the best tacos in the area. They put the effort into the food and not the décor so don’t be alarmed if you come across an old fast food place with a taco sign. With the variety of meats available, tongue and tripe, for example, is a sure thing that it is an authentic place. The food is amazing and messy. There’s salsa and chips upon arrival and a great variety of selection. Order the tongue because where else will you find that in Cincinnati? The staff is friendly and there’s Mexican candy at the counter at check out.

I was hesitant to eat here for a long time, growing IP I Southern California and being Mexican I am very picky when it comes to my Mexican food. For me if its not home made it’s not good. I’ve tried a few places out here and none have pleased my taste buds. However, when I finally decided to eat here I was surprised and a little mad at myself I hadn’t stopped by before. The tacos are amazing and the sopes are as close to home made as you will get in a restaurant out here. This place is my new favorite spot. The prices and portions are good and the horchata DELICIOUS. Seriously give this place a try, you will not be disappointed. I recommend it to anyone that is looking for that authentic home style Mexican food. The stuff we eat, not the chain restaurant crap, the real deal. Love this place!!!

It’s about as authentic as you’ll find in Cincy. Go for the tacos al pastor, the sopes, and beware of the red salsa as it is muy picante. Order an horchata or agua de Jamaica if you’ve never had either before.

Taco Loco is a neat spot! I love the ambience as well as the food. The steak tacos are the best with the squeeze of lime and cilantro. A nice authentic taco worth the 30 minute drive.

This is a great taqueria! The atmosphere is a little funky, but the food is good. The lengua tacos are so good. I even tried the chile relleno taco… it was weird, but in a good way! If you’re wanting more traditional tacos, it’s the way to go. If you want nontraditional tacos, there are a few options, but you might want to look elsewhere. :)

So, I’ve seen a few people reviewing this restaurant, and not far from places I visit, so I thought I’d stop. The navigation was telling me both that the«destination is on your right» and«make a U-turn in 50 feet», which complicated getting there. After I parked, it still wanted me to return to the road. Apparently, it’s a mobile restaurant? Anyway, I found the place to be an old Burger King, and I wasn’t sure it was open, even with the bright«Open» sign. The waitress was filling cups with salsa at the front counter. I wasn’t exactly sure how things worked, and she said – over the loud noise from the back – to sit down and she would give me a menu. The menu didn’t have a lot of options, but they had some steaks and fish, along with the typical tacos and enchiladas. I almost got the Caldo de Camarón(shrimp stew) but knowing how easy it is for shrimp to go bad, I decided to play it safe with Carne Asada Tacos with lettuce and tomatoes, ditching the sour cream. The less expensive option had onions and cilantro, but apparently, they didn’t put them together as an option. I could have asked but I thought differently. I topped it off with a Limón Jarritos. She said that the chips weren’t ready, even before she took my order. I swear, I don’t care for restaurant chips. I make my own at home, and usually the restaurant just heats them up or they fry them multiple times until they have a smoky taste. I said«don’t bother» but she brought them to the table a little later. They were so-so but warm. The tacos were very good. The sauces come in ketchup(spicier) and mustard(less spicy) bottles. The tortillas were fried well, though the steak was a little chewy, but still better than you’d get at fake Mexican places like Chipotle. I’m wondering how everything compares to Taquería Mercado up the road closer to Fairfield, as I’ve had food from a relative’s restaurant in the Dayton, OH area. In any case, you can get the real deal along SR4. Oh, and if you sit at a booth on the east wall, you might see some ants. I mentioned it but she didn’t seem too concerned.

The restaurant is really casual. Not the cleanest place but it’s not bad. At first we only got a bunch of tacos and then wanted to try more food so ordered another burrito but we definitely should have just stuck with their tacos. Their tacos are the best we’ve found so far, in Cincinnati. Make sure to get them with just onions and cilantro if you want them to taste more like authentic mexican-street tacos. With just a little bit of their bottled salsa, they were delish! Heads up though: the steak and chicken tacos were great but the carnitas(pork) was surprisingly pretty dry. As for the burrito… We got a carne asada burrito and it was not good. Way too much rice and not enough steak and sauce. They also have horchata and it was REALLY good. Definitely a must try!

I literally drove by this place for a couple years never once considering eating there. It’s in an old Burger King and the parking lot is usually quite empty. I’ll be honest I couldn’t imagine how a place with apparently so few customers could stay open this long and thought this had to be a «front» for some sort of illegal operation! After one of my brave friends tried it and raved about it on Facebook I decided to give it a shot and boy am I glad I did! This place is pretty darn good. $ 2 tacos and $ 2.25 beer? can’t beat that for lunch!
