Had the tacos and they were delicious. The meat was very tender. Homemade salsas were also great. The staff was very friendly. Small eating area but well worth a trip.

Where do I start? This place was definitely a good find! It was right by where I was at, and it had great reviews so I decided to give it a shot. The shopping center that it is in is a bit suspect, but once you walk inside your whole attitude changes. It is very clean and inviting, and the menu is small and easy. You immediately get the feeling that everything is going to be super fresh and authentic! I ordered the Asada taco and the spicy carnita tamale. They were both so good! I think the tamale edged out the taco a bit, but it was close. Their salsas are all great as well. The price too. Whoaa it was a lot of food for $ 6.99! Can’t beat that!

Pretty, pretty good. Got the steak taco combo with onion and cilantro. Tacos were tasty and the refried beans and rice were better than most places. Service was really quick for a lunch order too, and I’d imagine this will be a nice place to stop for a quick bite of tacos. Want to try some of their drinks and other dishes next time because most everything looked good. Food was very reasonably priced too. We will definitely come back again.

I have never been to Mexico to claim I know what authentic Mexican cuisine tastes like but judging by the quality of the food here, it is evident that everything is fresh and made from scratch. On my first visit I got the steak burrito bowl to go. Their topping options include: cilantro, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream, salsa(not sure if Im forgetting something) but I only added cilantro, and onions on mine because I really wanted to taste the meat and rice. It was a great decision on my part because the flavors of the steak and rice were enhanced and not masked by the toppings. I’ve also tried the steak taco platter for $ 7 which was an awesome deal because the portions were ample. The platter comes with 2 tacos, Mexican rice, refried beans, lime, and salsa. You may add toppings as well but I suggest not(refer to 2nd paragraph). I’ve also tried their chicken tacos and they were alright, a little bit on the dry side. But the rotisserie chicken was pretty good. As other Unilocalers have pointed out, this is more of a to go place but they do have a few tables that could accommodate a maximum of about 12 people. I would say this is one of the better Mexican places in the area and is definitely worth checking out so please do so when you can!

Yes to anything here. We get the whole chicken, the tortillas, the guacamole, the salsa, did I say tortillas? Posole last week, and I can’t wait till they make something else for us to try. It’s a take-out kind of place where you can wolf it down at one of the counters or carry it home so no one can watch you eat with your hands and lick the guac bowl! We love the side items you get with the chicken and it really does taste like SOTB. Such a healthy and easy place to pick up dinner for the family. This food is made with peace, love and understanding. .. . of real Mexican cuisine!

Yessssss. 25 bucks got 2 huge guys and me fed with a good amount of leftovers… I say that’s a win. We got the family meal which supplies you with MORE than enough food for 4 people. Fresh tortillas made in house, awesome sides, tender meat. Let’s not forget the super nice staff and that you can call ahead and tell them what time you want to pick up your delicious food and they’ll have it ready for you. It’s not the type of place you go and sit down to eat, though there is some seating. Yeah, it’s a little out of the way, but well worth the drive.

Homemade corn tortillas, a range of good salsas, melt-in-your mouth carnitas, and«real» homemade horchata! These are the things that make Tortilleria Garcia great. If you don’t know what horchata or carnitas are, then go try some! And try it at Tortilleria Garcia. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. They were intent on making sure everything was OK. I felt as if we were in someone’s home kitchen, being fed awesome homemade delights. While I have only had the carnitas tacos(my pal had the burrito) on my two visits, on my next trip I will try the rotisserie chicken. They do catering! I wish I had an excuse to have them cater… And bulk tortillas to go! Yes. Oh yes… that I can do.

This place made Taco Tuesday a thing! $ 1 tacos. Seriously — you pick beef, chicken, or pork in two corn tortillas with your choice of toppings including cilantro, onion, tomato, sour cream, & cheese. Literally the most delicious thing you can buy with $ 1. Chips & guac are great as well. All there sauces are in bottles on the table. The place gets packed on Tuesday’s. There’s not much seating to begin with but they’ve done the best with the space they have available. And to make it EVEN better, DQ is next door. Tacos + ice cream for the ride back to the office = Tuesday is my new fav day!

Fantastic drinks!(Horchata is hard sometimes!) The in-house tortilla chips and corn taco shells are fantastic. All the food was great. They have $ 1 tacos on Tuesdays and on Mondays I believe you can get a whole chicken for $ 10. This is a great taco joint in Cincinnati and I will be back!

$ 7 for a tacos combo platter? I’m there! This teeny operation is my new favorite lunch spot. From the friendly staff to the fresh tortillas, this place is doing it right. This is my first of many visits, especially on Taco Tuesdays — tacos for $ 1! And they deliver… I first heard of Tortilleria Garcia when I walked into the break room at the office on a Tuesday and several co-workers were cramming tacos into their faces and raving about this new dollar Taco Tuesday spot they found. I couldn’t wait to give it a try. Their menu is super limited — just tacos and burritos, sides and chips/salsas. I don’t mind that. It just means they have more energy to focus on perfecting what they offer. I got the tacos combo platter, which comes with 2 tacos, refried beans and rice. One beef taco, one chicken. It was all I could do to eat both tacos because the portions were so big. The sides were good but not great. I’ll probably just get the tacos next time. But the tacos! They’re best with the hot salsa in my opinion. I noticed other reviewers commented they think the food is bland, but I think it’s just«clean.» Not a lot of unnecessary flavor noise cluttering up what’s delicious on its own, plain and simple.

Got the tacos. One pork, one steak with rice and beans. Blew me away! Homemade everything including the corn tortillas. Even beans were creamy and had special touch. 5 Stars all day!

I cannot believe that I have found a place that I love better than Chipotle!!! Authentic and delicious are both words that define this restaurant. It’s a fairly new addition to Springdale but is rapidly growing in popularity. They have Taco Tuesdays where their tacos created with their made from scratch tortillas are only $ 1. They also have fresh chips, and burritos. I had the burrito bowl, with steak, Mexican rice(instead of the regular rice option that they also have) cilantro, salsa, cheese, and sour cream. It was Mexican heaven! The tastes blended so well together that they melted in my mouth. I could tell that they put a lot of time into preparing and making the ingredients. It was a pleasant surprise! They also have a variety of unique teas and horchata that was intriguing. I think that I will try next time.

Expected alot more from this place due to the taco game being pretty tough in Cincy. A fried recommended this place so I ventured out to the unknown. Well here it is. Atmosphere. 4⁄5 The place was clean and wide open. A few tables to eat at inside and a few benches outside. Food 2.5÷5 We ordered the beef, pork and chicken tacos to get a little taste of everything. We also ordered the chips and salsas. The tacos across the board were very ordinary. Nothing spectacular on special about any of them. Decent flavor, but nothing to write home about. The chips were hard and I thought they were stale personally. They make them in house so I expected them to be fresh and crisp. The salsa was just ok. The hot was probably the best of the three. The other two were average at best. Value 2⁄5 I would have enjoyed paying what I paid if the food was better. The prices aren’t bad, but the food isn’t that good though. Overall 2⁄5 With the number of good taco restaurants in Cincinnati this place has to do a lot better to hang around. I hope they’ve improved since my visit. I might give them another try on taco Tuesday since the tacos are just $ 2.

Who would have thought you could find great Mexican food in Ohio? I’m from southwest and live my Mexican food. This place is small, more carry out type look but they do have some tables. Only 1 bathroom to share for all. Four of us to eat so a mix of their tacos. Unanimously the carnitas and asada are the best. Great flavor, no fat, and shredded perfectly. Chicken didn’t have a lot of flavor, wouldn’t order again … So order more asada and carnitas. Tortillas are good, good homemade flavor. Horchata is a tad watery and too sweet for my taste. But limeade was good. Green salsa was fantastic! Red sauce is also good Beans seemed to be canned beans, which is a bummer considering how good the tacos were. And rice nothing to write home about it, but you can fix that up with some of the sides. Overall a terrific stop for Good Mexican food.

Stopped in to try their burritos recently. They are ridiculously massive and delicious. All of their ingredients are well made and amazing tasting, so putting everything into a burrito could not have turned out any other way then awesome. The chicken is so good here. Its from a whole bird, so you have dark and white meat instead of the typical chicken breast from Chipotle and such. This burrito was definitely bigger then Chipotle as well, and for only $ 6.99 its a killer deal. As amazing as the burrito was, the real star of this place is the masa/Tortillas. I could eat them all day, whether its in a taco, fried for chips, or in a tamale, its all amazing. Definitely check it out if you are in the area.

The taco scene in Cinci is really growing and this place is a wonderful addition. As advertised, they make their own tortillas that they use in their tacos and also sell to other restaurants in the area. The freshness of the tortilla does not go unnoticed. Bakersfield and Mazunte are still my favorite places in the city to get tacos but also feel like they are in a separate class in some ways. Tortilleria Garcia is not a place to get«gourmet» tacos like you get at those places. Garcia’s tacos resemble something closer to what you would call an «authentic Mexican street taco.» That being said I had all four different types of meat and found them all to have rich and complex flavors. If you are a taco enthusiast in the Cincinnati area you need to visit this place!

This place is pretty good I was definitely suprised. First went for taco Tuesday which is an unbeatable deal at a buck a taco. The pork was my favorite then the steak. The chicken was just ok. But we ordered 6 tacos 2 sides of rice chips and salsa and it came out to about 12 dollars which is about a quarter of what you would spend downtown(however those tacos downtown may be on a whole nother level). Second time I went I got the pork tamale for 1.99 it was great. The authentic beverages were very good as well. The service is quick and friendly, you can tell there’s a lot of regulars. Also a nice option is to purchase the meats by the pound with some tortillas on the side. The fresh made tortillas are the best in the city and they make them on the spot, truly amazing. However the negatives would be the chips and salsas. The salsas were all watered down and the chips were stale. Other than that very good. Like Arnold said«I’ll be back»

I was extremely excited to come across this spot(thanks Unilocal), while I was in Springdale and in the mood for tacos. This place is authentic and(according to the owner/manager) is the only restaurant in Ohio that makes their own corn tortillas fresh. You can actually just buy the tortillas to go. But, on to the main event… the tacos and tamales are among the best in the city. Yes, I said it. You aren’t going to find mango pineapple salsa and pickled toppings at this taco joint. It’s all traditional, simple, and fresh toppings done right. I’ve enjoyed the pork and chicken tacos which are outstanding. Do yourself a favor and try a tamale(made with the leftover masa from the tortillas). They are moist and full of flavor. As good as the food was, the service was better. Upon my first visit, the owner walked me through the menu options and told me about the restaurant. I ordered the guac during an early lunch visit and it wasn’t ready yet(made fresh), but the owner brought me a free dish of it when it was done. They are extremely friendly and value their customers. The guac wasn’t quite what I had hoped for but the rest of the food has been outstanding. The only challenge I see here is the location. It’s relatively hard to come across if you aren’t looking for it. This is a must try in the North Cincy suburbs.

So as a child living with my grandparents in Mexico, it was my job to go fetch tortillas down the street. The tortilleria had this giant machine where women would dump a large ball of masa, and the press would crank out warm tortillas. Scoop them in a basket and take your kilo home, hot off the press. Walking into tortilleria Garcia evoked those memories the minute I walked in. I felt like a giddy child ordering a pound of fresh tortillas. I wish this was further south in the city. It’s worth a trip JUST to get a couple of pounds of tortillas(you get about 2 dozen for the pound btw… not a bad deal.) Again, if this place only sold tortillas, they would be an awesome business. I kind of want my own machine.. . this is the next best thing.
