I’m devastated. I live up here and this place was my favorite restaurant on the Hill, frequented it almost weekly for the amazing South of the Border burger. Came in tonight and it wasn’t on the menu but they still had pimento cheese on another item so I asked if they could make it, no they couldn’t or wouldn’t. I had mini slider versions of it made for my most recent birthday party’s catering… As a devotee of the South of the Border burger and the fact that all the ingredients can be found in other items on the menu, just make it for the diehard fans who have been making that a weekly treat to look forward to.

My favorite thing at Tavern is their breaded wings. I have had some good sandwiches there as well. Their bar fries are pretty good. Also, they have great beer options. Tons of TV’s so definitely a good spot for NFL Sundays or March Madness. Note: their 50⁄50 Blend wing sauce is awesome. ½ BBQ and ½ hot sauce.

Came for Saturday brunch. Awful service, had to get out of my seat to ask for silverware, sugar, etc. We were the only ones in the bar and our food took very long to come out. The food was below average and the a la cart items were all on tiny plates separately with no room to eat. Servers did not even smile. I will not be returning.

Service was really not that good. Our server never checked on us, never refilled our drinks, disappeared all together for most of the time we were there. The food was ok, it honestly looked a lot better than it tasted. The fries were above average. The pricing was definitely high for the level of service and the quality of food.

Horrible service! As I sit here writing this review, we have been here for over 1.5 hours, and the server stopped by our table 5 times(to get our drinks, deliver the drinks, take our order, deliver our food and then ask if we wanted a box). She never once asked if we wanted a refill or more drinks. A table of younger girls came in after us and just left. I saw the server stop by their table at least 4 times in the past 15 minutes. Their table is RIGHT by our table, and she never came by our table. We had to go order more drinks from the bar. Food was good; typical bar food. But certainly not enough to make me ever come back here.

This place has a healthy, inexpensive lunch menu and the service is prompt. I got a Caesar salad with grilled chicken for just $ 6.99!

Had whisky and the southern gentleman burger. Whisky was priced ok and the burger tasted very good. The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff was friendly if a tad slow.

So, we decided to take our girls to lunch today at Tavern on the Hill since we had never been there. Place looks like a sports bar and seemed clean and fun, until out waitress showed up. She was not gracious, happy or willing to help. Once our order was taken… still no smiles or hellos from the waitress… the food arrived fairly quickly, but the presentation was blah. My fish sandwich was soggy and fell apart and was basically inedible, so I mentioned it to the bartender, who took over for our waitress(who never bothered to check back with us to see if everything was OK). Anyway, perhaps it was just a bad day at the Tavern, but we had an unpleasant experience and won’t be going back.

Food and service were both very disappointing. The chicken fingers were awful and the server was not knowledgeable on the different beers they offer. There are way too many other awesome places to go than here. Don’t waste your time or money!

This review is only for their HAPPYHOUR! I went here for happy hour with some friends on a Monday. The place was pretty quiet which was nice. We were able to get a table for the 5 of us and it was great because it was happy hour which was great! $ 2 domestic beers & $ 3 craft beers! Great deal! Our server was great although it did take him three times to bring one of my friends the right beer. Mt. Adams is always hard with parking and such but if I were in the neighborhood and it was happy hour I would definitely return!

Today was a laundry day and I do my laundry over at «The Clothesline» in Mount Adams. So, my boyfriend and I decided to get food before we started in on our laundry. He originally wanted to go to «The Bowtie Café» which on Unilocal had really yummy photos of food. We walked into their and they had like a board that just said«Sandwiches, *Random Meats*, Tacos» and that’s about it. So we just walked out and went up the street. Decided on trying Tavern on the Hill. When we walked in it was pretty chill. Kind of dark, TV’s everywhere, and music playing low. Wasn’t what I was totally expecting going into a sports bar, but then again I’m sure it’s the opposite at night. We sit down in a comfy booth and wait for someone to acknowledge us. Ten minutes go by and our server comes over. She’s really nice and friendly and seems to be semi well knowledged about the beer selection. My boyfriend gets a Galaxy High from Madtree on tap because he can’t ever deny it. Haha. They had a really good beer selection and a lot of local selection on tap. It looks like they have a pretty decent Happy Hour from 4 – 8 Monday-Friday. $ 2 Domestics. $ 2 off Wine. $ 3 Crafts & Imports. $ 3 Drafts. Food wise we got as an appetizers Tavern Pizza Pockets which are wonton pockets filled with cheese. You can get pepperoni in them if you wish. We just got cheese. She brought out a plate of them. Four on the plate, and they are gigantic. I thought they were going to be like bite size. We also had three cheese and one pepperoni. Don’t know why, but we did. I think that overall they weren’t that good and I felt gross eating them. Especially the one that had pepperoni in it. I took one bite out of that one and the soggy undercooked pepperoni in it was enough for me to stop eating it. My boyfriend ordered the Not-So-Sloppy Joe. Which the description of it sounded awesome but when it came out it looked overcooked and burnt. He only ate half of it. I ordered the Spring Chicken Wrap which sounded amazing. It has Grilled chicken, goat cheese, dried cranberries, red onion, mixed greens, raspberry vinaigrette in it. How could you go wrong with that? Oh, but you could, and they did somehow. It was mostly just a bunch of mixed greens, some grilled chicken that was dry, and everything else in it was in one clump towards the end of the wrap. I also only ate one half of my food and left the rest. Even though we had our card out when our server brought us our check finally after waiting forever, she didn’t wait for us to give it to her, took another five minutes to come back and get it. Then I watched her walk around the restaurant multiple times with it in her hand and our card sticking out of book. Just go cash us out and bring it back. PLEASE. We just wanted to continue on with our lives. It took her another ten minutes to bring it back to us. So we basically went in here and wasted a bunch of our money and left hungry because our food tasted like butt and we couldn’t eat it. Overall this place is pretty trashy and kind of divey. I guess if you just want to get wasted and watch some sports this would be a good place. That is the only reason I’m giving them two stars. But if you’re wanting to grab some good food to chow on for lunch, I would just pass.

This bar food was surprisingly good. The service was slow, but they were busy. The chicken fingers were fired to perfection. The French fries were actually really good. They had several dipping sauces to choose from. The BBQ was by far the best.

Good eggs benedict for Sunday brunch! We went in on Sunday around 12 and were greeted by the bartender who told us to sit wherever we would like. The restaurant was pretty dead but was playing music a tad too loud. Ample seating and tvs if you like watching sports. I ordered the eggs benedict Cincy style with goetta. The poached eggs were done perfectly and the dish was good in general. My husband had the burger cooked medium and was pleased. Their homemade chips with the burger were a nice alternative to boring store-bought. The service was good as to be expected since they were not busy at all. I would recommend this restaurant as a decent neighborhood bar. It is a good place to watch sports, have a drink, and grab some bar food.

This place has very good bar food, excellent beverage selection, and in a fabulous location. But the service is lacking. We arrived and were not greeted. We asked and were told to sit wherever we liked. We chose a nice table for the four of us dead center of the establishment, next to server station. We then waited 20 minutes before we began to look at the menu online since no one came to serve us and provide menus. After an additional 10 – 15 minutes we did get wait staff. We ordered three different apps and a large pizza. All of the food was good, the pizza was very good. Large selection of beers. Great sports bar feel to the place, music via a jukebox. The jukebox either needs repair or songs were being stopped mid play. Restrooms were well maintained. Outside of the wait, I’d highly recommend.

Always a favorite of mine… Tavern is one of the best places to catch your favorite sport up in Mt. Adams! The menu has the usual staples and they try to bring new things to it every once in a while. Catch their specials during NFL games on the weekends with a bucket of beer and some wings!

4 stars for Tavern on the Hill! Happy Hour is M-F from 3 – 7 and they have a few good drink specials. The food here exceeded my expectations! It wasn’t just«bar» food but good bar food. I was definitely impressed. One thing that I must caution you about is their fries. Now don’t get me wrong, the fries were delicious but they actually look like chips which threw me off a tad but no biggie, they tasted great! Tavern on the Hill is nice and spacious which makes it great for game days and large groups of friends. In comparison to the bars/restuarants downtown, I really appreciated the amount of space that Tavern on the Hill has to offer.

The inferno wing sauce could quite possibly be the spiciest wing sauce in the tri-state area. A drop of this deadly concoction fell upon the table and dissolved it’s way through both wood and concrete. Spice spice baby!

I’ve been to Tavern a handful of times, but most recently I’ve been going for NFL Sundays. They have Sunday Ticket and a ton of TVs, so if you’re looking for non-Bengals games like I am(Go Pack Go), then you’ve come to the right spot. They are running a promo now — $ 15 buckets of summer beers, but I don’t think it’ll be around much longer! The food is your typical bar food, but the wings were pretty crispy and delicious. It’s been awhile since I went to Tavern on a weekend night, but I think they still offer their late night pizza — yum!

Great spot in Mt. Adams. The food was bar style food but was really great. We ordered the Tachos and Pretzels with Beer Cheese as appetizers, and had an assortment of entrees from the Fish and Chips, Grilled Cheese with Pulled Pork, and a burger. The french fries were definitely the highlight and the garlic parmesan seasoning was divine. I highly recommend Tavern on the Hill if you’re looking for a great dinner in between drinks in Mt. Adams.
