The Righteous Room

Good drinks and a good vibe. The bar tenders are slow, but the bar is normally packed. The smoke can be a deterrent at times. I wish they would offer small apps to go with the drinks. The bathroom steps are normally sticky from alcohol spills and could use some cleaning. Other than that, this is a great bar to do a happy hour at.

A nice little bar spot with a great happy hour from 4 to 8 with all drinks half off. Eight taps and a variety of canned and bottled beer are here to choose from, and of course a full bar. Only bad thing is no food, but the sacrifice is worth it. Great bar tending staff!

Had such a great time Saturday night (second stop of five). The back outdoor space was my favorite part, including the DJ (mix of 90’s, hip hop and pop) and handsome bartenders. It’s nice that it’s open air so it’s comfortable and not stuffy as it gets crowded later in the night. There are a few couches and a dance floor in the back. The front is a lounge like bar area. Great spot to hang with friends and meet new people. Cocktail prices are decent.
This was my second visit, which was a lot better than my original experience six months ago when there were only a handful of people there on a Saturday night, so we didn’t stay long. Glad we gave it another try!

I have been here a few times and always had a pleasant experience. My most recent visit was last night (Sunday) around 10pm. Not crowded but there were people there. A DJ was playing vinyl which was very cool and gave the place a «trendy» vibe. They had $ 3 craft cans (including Rhinegeist, Mad Tree) and $ 3 tequila shots. It was nice they had specials because most places don’t on the weekends. The bartender was also the manager and he was great. Friendly and attentive the whole time. They have a nice patio out back with couches too. Definitely going back!

Wonderful place, warm atmosphere! Great happy hour! The bar in the back is my favorite spot. Nice place to hang out with friends and have a few cocktails.

Top notch bar from bartenders to drinks. Atmosphere was awesome and there was a DJ who played a great mix of old songs and new. Cool little local spot!

Three is us went to smoke cigars across the street at Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse on their outdoor patio but they were closed/​closing. They opened the door and sold us some cigars and pointed us here to The Righteous Room to smoke. They told us to walk straight through the bar and smoke in the back outside courtyard. We would never have found this on our own!
Great outdoor back area for smoking. Very edgy and stark. You could be in NYC. Inside the bar itself, the vibe was positive. It was crowded and hopping. I loved the décor especially the interesting art on the walls. Great service. Putting this on the permanent rotation list for when I am in Cincinnati.

Best happy hour in the city. Fantastic drink options for anyone. Options from bourbon, vodka, champagne and beer. Jenny is the best bartender in the city, the team goes above and beyond to make sure your have a great time! Never a long wait for a drink. The team is very attentive and makes sure everyone is having a great time! Citrus sun is my favorite, never feel the alcohol until its too late! Monday thru Sunday type of place especially the 4 – 8 happy hour!

I enjoy going to this bar for a drink before a show or happy hour with friends. It is relaxing and the drink selection is great. There is a nice patio out back that is a secluded hidden gem. While it does not have much natural light it is nice to get fresh air. I do find this very crowded during peak drinking hours like weekends and late weekdays. It makes getting a drink a bit more challenging. Also, this is one of the bar that does not have a cover charge over New Year’s Eve. While this is nice it also draws a huge crowd. Overall one of my favorite bars to visit during the off peak times.

I came here because it was next to my hotel. It was a weeknight so we were just lookign for a night cap and this was open til late.
A few things — it is dim and nice. It almost has a bougie feel to it.
I was a little disappointed when I asked one of the bartenders about the beer and whether it was local/​OH beeer (I was visiting), and she had told me No. It was the only IPA on tap so I asked her for it anyway. It was phenomenal. i googled it and what do you know, Fat Head’s based in Ohio… haha.
I then had an old fashioned. I kid you not, I literally saw the guy pour a shit ton of sugar in my drink. When I asked for a very very faintly sweetened drink. I ended up pouring water in it just to make it less sweet.
Other than those two instances, though, I really did like the ambience and the bartenders were really nice/​attentive.

This place has a great location and they seemed accommodating enough. I’ve only been in the late afternoon but the bartender was attentive without being overbearing. By the time our group left the place was filling up. Being small it doesn’t take much but I would like to return. There is no menu of snacks but the room itself is comfortable enough to make me want to return.

The ambiance is dim lit and romantic. There are booths, bar seats, and bar top tables. It is very narrow, so I imagine it gets crowded later in the evening. I went earlier and it was somewhat busy with all of the tables/​seats taken, but it was not crowded. The people there were a bit classier than some of the other bars, but again that might have been because it was earlier in the night.
Their happy hour is an awesome deal! Half price off all of their drinks!!! I enjoyed my drink. Definitely a good place to start your night.

The décor is nice. I ordered a beer after asking for a sample of something I didn’t know. The bartender was knowledgeable. I like the fact that they have a decent wine list. My friend is a fan of craft cocktails and she said it was made very balanced. I would like to come back in the summer.

I had a great Sunday night at The Righteous Room!
I came in late night on a Sunday while vacationing in Cincinnati. I loved the atmosphere in here. I liked that it was classy but not stuffy and that there was a good selection of beer, wine, and craft cocktails. I opted for a cocktail (I don’t remember exactly what it was, but it had blueberries and was DELICIOUS) and then switched to beer. The bartender was very attentive and we had a really nice night. I appreciated that, while it isn’t a sports bar, they were still showing the Bengals game (made my Bengals fan family happy). All in all, a nice spot in downtown Cincy.

I just love Righteous Room! Two thumbs up for them! It is by far one of my favorite places in downtown Cincinnati. It’s one of the few places in the area that really give you that «lounge» vibe. At first glance, Righteous Room isn’t huge but don’t be fooled, there is covered patio area in the back of the lounge that offers tons of extra space. Righteous Room can get packed on Friday and Saturday nights so a lot of people gravitate toward that area. The drinks at this place are awesome as are their amazing bartenders. This is a great place to go whether you’re just looking for a place to hang with friends or looking for a great night out. Not to mention, they offer happy hour (½ off of everything) Mon-​Sat from 4pm-​8pm! This is by far one of the best happy hour deals around!

This is a classy place to grab a drink and super impressive to meet friends at, they’ll think you are a high roller (without breaking the bank). I have been here several times, afternoon and late night, and have always had a fantastic time. I love the back patio in the summer under the stars which is covered in the winter to still be able to utilize the space.
TIPS: Happy Hour is half off EVERY DRINK in the menu. EVERY ONE!!! My goodness, when I found this out my life was changed. All the specialty drinks are delicious and worth a try, or go for some wine or a pour from the shelf to see what you truly like without spending a fortune.
This place also has a helpful staff as well as outlets to charge phones that are running low. I recommend this place to start for a night out or a drink before a show to get your spirits lifted while making you feel classy as hell.

Very agreeable little bar with an awesome happy hour – 50% off everything. (Hard to find fault with Blanton’s for $ 4.25. Buds cost more than that at most downtown pubs!) Cool design that tastefully updates the architectural features of the older building without the rococo extremes and snooty ‘tude of Obscura down the street. Nice little patio fronting Walnut Street. Eclectic, well-​behaved crowd and a friendly young staff. I taught one of the bartenders to make an Americano (one jigger Campari and one sweet vermouth topped off with club soda in a highball glass filled with ice) and he couldn’t have been nicer. Go often, and go thirsty, especially between 4 – 8 pm!

Some people like OTR, some like Mt. Adams, but I like «downtown.»
Specifically, I like the area from fountain square to 7^th street. There are a lot of bars, clubs, and eateries along the way. Righteous Room is one of those spots.
It is the perfect happy hour hangout with co-​workers, late night party with friends, or pit stop on your way from one bar to another.
Cheap drinks, good vibe, and they are right across the street from the Aronoff Center.
The place is pretty narrow and always seems to be crowded, so if you hate tight places, this probably isn’t the spot for you.
They have an outdoor patio with couches, that would normally be awesome… Except for the fact that it is pretty much a smokers hangout.
If you are downtown and around 6^th and Walnut… stop in and check it out.

The Righteous Room is a bar I wish I would get out to more often.
First off, it’s one of the more luxurious bar type atmospheres in Cincy, Dim lit. Romantic. Bar top tables, cozy booths. Dark maroon, and black with great accent lighting. And a very charming semi secret patio out back. If I were a dude, I’d bring a lady friend here for drinks for sure.
What I love about the Righteous Room is the crowd is more young professionals, or a little bit older. This bar does not attract those teeny boppers from Cincy’s On Sixth or the other bars on in this area thank god. There are already too many places like that.
They also have one of the BEST happy hours in the city. The deal? Half price EVERYTHING from 4 – 8. Yes everything, bourbon, margs, wine, champ, whatever your little heart desires! I kind of love this place.
The only reason I am not giving them 5 stars is because even though this place is so amazing, I have had a negative customer service experience almost every time I have been in here which is unfortunate :(I don’t know if our bar tenders have all just been grumpy or what but I will still come here for the b.a. happy hour and ambiance.

Very cool atmosphere. I love, love, love the back «room» which is really an outside area between the backs of two buildings, that has been converted into a lounge-​sort of area. The variety of beer isn’t amazing, but by the bottle you can definitely find something you like.
I was there on a Saturday night around 10pm, and it was not too busy, but filled up quickly. The music they play is truly great, but the DJ wasn’t really my style once he started.
There were also several Bachelorette parties so that was a bummer. And in the back outside lounge area you can technically smoke since it’s outside, which I was not a fan of.
