Not fancy in the least, but it’s so cheap! My boyfriend and I came during lunchtime, a time where it is nearly impossible to snag a spot at the counter. We decided to take the food to the car and eat. I got a single hamburger, potato chips, and a small root beer. He got a double cheeseburger, potato chips, and a medium coke. Our total was less than $ 10, what a deal! The burger tasted fine for what we paid. It wasn’t very juicy, but it was edible and it only cost $ 2.00 so I was a happy camper. The root beer was excellent. The girl at the counter even gave us a little cardboard tray to carry everything out to the car. They do have a very nice picnic area with a playground, so I’d love to come back when it’s not so humid and enjoy a root beer float outside.

Similar to what most reviewers have said, this place is great at what they say they are. Good food and root beer with quick service, nothing fancy. We went at around 2pm on a Wednesday and had no trouble sitting at the counter. I got a small root beer float and a cheeseburger, he got a mug of root beer and a chili cheeseburger and we split a footlong coney. Everything was delicious and was brought to us within ten minutes! The burger was what I expected: just a classic, cheap burger with good flavor. And the coney with homemade chili was great too. The root beer is slightly flat compared to other brands, but that was expected because I read other reviews before going. The flatness didn’t ruin it though, it still has great flavor! If you’re looking for a nice sit-down restaurant with tables and waiters, this is not the place. If you’re looking for a quick, cheap, delicious meal then you should definitely stop by! In my opinion, disappointed reviewers simply had the wrong expectations upon visiting this restaurant. The Root Beer Stand is great!

Flat tasting root beer. I ordered the quarter pounder burger and was very disappointed. Noting more than a frozen off brand hamburger patty YUCK! Hot dogs were ok but would have been better grilled instead of boiled.

Been to both Root Beer Stands. Both have amazing, smooth tasting root beer in ice cold mugs. The food is very basic except the burgers which are top notch. Nothing fancy. Just straight up burger and sometimes that is all you need. Root beer? Great. Service? Top notch Food? Good

I love The Root Beer Stand. Its one of my favorite summer time places to go. I love the old school atmosphere and food. Every time we go, we always get a foot long coney with chili and cheese and a big mug of the root beer. We typically split something else since one foot long isn’t quite enough to fill you up. Most recently we had The Big E sandwich, which is a cheese burger with american cheese with hot ham and swiss. It was awesome, there was a lot of ham and tons of cheese. The root beer is obviously amazing, nice and creamy and not super sweet. I still need to try the float though, which I will be doing sooner then later. All the food is dirt cheap, and its a great place for families. Definitely check this place out.

I love the root beer stand. Friendly workers, decent food, amazing root beer, and wonderfully priced! Went during lunch hour sat, waited, and ate within 15 – 20 min. This place never fails to impress me with their floats!

The Root Beer Stand is a throwback to an era of simpler times and good food. My family and I made our first visit here and were quite impressed for what this place is. It is a road-side stand providing a simple yet good menu of hot dogs and hamburgers. The hot dogs are served with an option of chili and cheese and the hamburgers are served with or without cheese. The main attraction though is the root beer and the root beer floats. The root beer is served by the glass, half gallon, or full gallon. And the root beer float taste is something the makes you feel like a kid again. The staff was very friendly and patient with us and we look forward to coming back here again really soon.

We have been to The Root Beer stand multiple times over the years but I’ve never written a review of this classic place. The Root Beer Stand is a classic and brings back many childhood memories. Nothing has changed — the sign out front, root beer mugs, stools at the bar, menu, or even the trucker hats hanging from the ceiling. It is tiny so be ready to wait for a counter seat or you can sit out back where they have plenty of picnic tables. I prefer the counter where you can see everything going on. They have fun little games you can play with the kids while you eat at the counter or a playground out back. If you have kids, don’t worry because you won’t have to wait long for your food. Classic chili & cheese footloose is the only way to go(see photo) with a cold mug of root beer. They have cheeseburgers too. This is NOT a gourmet hot dog place so don’t come with that thought. Good food, GREAT homemade root beer and a fun place to eat. You must stop and try this place over the summer!

I use to pass this place all of the time when I worked at Ikea forever ago. Taking back roads to work to avoid 75 traffic. We were out in the area visiting Gorman Heritage Farm, afterwards, I suggested that we go check out The Root Beer Stand since we were finally out in the area. We arrived here around 1:00 on a Friday, I was surprised how packed it was for the time and day. It is a very small little stand and it was packed in every inch of the place. The whole bar area was seated and all of the walls were lined with people waiting for their food. After standing and ease dropping, we heard that why every family with all thirty kids were there was because it was Spring Break. Which explains that. We grabbed a menu and ordered our food. As we were waiting a group of people got up and left so we decided to sit at the counter and eat our food. It took awhile for our food to come out but it wasn’t a big deal because of how packed they were. We ordered to start one Root Beer Float and a regular Root Beer. Two 6“Chili Cheese Dog’s. My rootbeer was poured from a tap and into a cold mug. It was delicious. Our Chili Cheese Dogs were really good too. We were still hungry so we decided to try one there«Chattanooga Cheeseburger» and I ordered an Orange Soda Float. The Orange Soda Float was my favorite. It tasted like orange sorbet and was SO good. The Chattanooga Cheeseburger has Pulled Pork and Shredded Cheese on top of the burger. We split it and a half and shared it. It was pretty good and very interesting flavors. But I don’t think I’ll get it again just because I felt like I was clogging my arteries on purpose. Haha. I would suggest trying it at least once, though. They also have Choco Taco’s and Spongebob Popsicles. The prices here are awesome. The 6″ Chili Cheese Dogs were $ 2.50 Each. The Burger was $ 5.50 and you can take home a whole gallon of Root Beer that they will fill up for you from the tap for $ 5. You can pay little and walk out of here feeling extremely full. The atmosphere in here was cool. Most of the people here you could tell were locals and regulars. Everyone working knew most of the people coming in. It feels very 70’s Root Beer Stand vibes. I don’t know how to explain that but when you walk into this place you’ll just know what I mean. Suggestions for this place. Probably don’t go at peak busy hours, and bring cash! This place is cash only. But for sure, go check this place out. It would be a excellant summer food spot to grab some food at.

The Root Beer Stand is a classic, and a staple in my childhood memories. Nothing has changed since then– the sign out front, root beer mugs, stools at the bar, menu, or even the trucker hats hanging from the ceiling. The Root Beer Stand is stuff dreams are made of. I visited a few weeks ago with my expectant friend and her 2 kids. Teaching them young, we saddled up to the bar to order and eat. Her son loved that he could get his very own little mug of soda. As seasoned patrons, my friend and I grabbed root beer floats. We ordered some popcorn, cheeseburgers, a foot long and some chili dogs. «Holy crap that thing is huge!» That was the actual comment out of our 5 year old guest’s mouth when his sister’s foot long arrived. If it wasn’t the truth, he might have gotten in trouble. For 10 whole minutes, the kids were silent tackling their ‘huge’ dogs, and my friend and I reminisced in childhood memories. We enjoyed it while we could, knowing the stand would board up for the winter. It will give us something to look forward to in the spring, introducing her newest addition to a summertime favorite!

The Root Beer Stand is a neat little spot. I opted for a root beer float but the highlight is really just the root beer. As a tourist though, it’s really out of the way and not worth the trek.

There is not much going on here every beer didn’t even have much fizz, it tasted flat and the vanilla ice cream tasted like freezer burn

The Root Beer Stand is a summer ritual for all in Sharonville. It’s in an old drive-up, kind of in the middle of nowhere. You cannot miss it. If you do, just look for a large number of cars parked haphazardly in the middle of nowhere. This place has a lot of wear and tear, but it still has its old-schooled charm. There isn’t much seating or standing room in the place, so do not come here if you need a lot of personal space. The service here is fast, and there is a quick turnaround of patrons at the counter. There are also some picnic tables outside if it’s too crowded. The coneys here are all right. My boyfriend enjoys them because he can get sauerkraut on them; I like that I don’t get dirty looks when I ask for cole slaw on my coney. They use homemade chili at this place, but it’s not Cincinnati chili, which I have grown to associate with coneys. The real star of this place is, of course, the root beer. People buy jugs of it from this place. For me, I’ll stick with a large root beer float, which is just perfect on a hot day.

Love the family atmosphere and prices. Everything we ordered was a hit. Nice to have the picnic tables and jungle gym in the back for families with kids and those that travel with their four legged family members as well.

Summary: Come for some homemade root beer at this fantastic little mom and pop joint, probably leave with a gallon of root beer to-go. The root beer here has a great flavor and is appropriately sweet. The root beer floats makes a great after lunch, after dinner, whenever type of dessert. You can choose from a selection of ice creams. I opted for the vanilla. There is a selection of hot dogs and burgers available here as well. I found the hot dog very normal and was jealous at the pulled pork sandwich that my friends had gotten. The food is passable, but I’d probably just come here for the root beer float. The shop is friendly and is a quintessential mom-and-pop shop. I enjoyed the root beer so much I even brought home a gallon to-go. Try it!(Cash only)

Love the idea of this place… food is above average and very reasonably priced. Buns were a bit hard and stale but the burger was great. Love that they have popcorn but hate that they have no fries. They are in bad need of new carpeting and stools. Root Beer Floats are a must here and they didn’t disappoint! The service was fast and friendly and I would say that this is a must do for any Cincinnati family this summer.

If we were basing the review strictly off the rootbeer float it would have been 5 stars. I went with my son and I got a foot long coney, he got a foot long hotdog. The coney was ok, have to say I’m wasn’t the biggest of the type of chili they use. Not that I was expecting a whole lot, but it wasn’t any better than chili from a Speedway. The atmosphere was great however. My 4 year old loved the hats hanging from the ceiling inside. The playground by the outdoor seating was great«after dinner» entertainment. We also were lucky enough to see a train come by(the tracks are about 15ft from the outdoor seating area). Overall it was a pretty great experience, definitely an awesome place to take the kids to eat. CASHONLY!!!

Awesome chili cheese coneys and root beer! I actually prefer their Coneys over skyline. Their hotdogs are much more flavorful and the chili is a much better consistency which gives a more satisfying mouthfeel. The root beer is very good. Very light. Almost juice-like on the tongue because it is so lightly carbonated. And the best thing is that everything there is under $ 10. $ 4 chili cheese footlong? One of the best deals in Cincinnati! The homey feel of the place brings a sense of summer nostalgia that is very hard to find nowadays. Love it!

This place is great. The building and food is simple but always good. The root beer is what sets them apart and a great place to grab lunch in the summer. The menu is very limited but the items they do have they do well. The location isn’t the best but it has been around for years. I would highly recommend. Also one thing to remember is its cash only!
