I would rate this place with 5 stars, but I’ve only been here once so far. I’ll definitely edit this as soon as I visit and dine on another delish creation there. This is an adorable place oozing with charm and the staff are very friendly. I had their tomato pie which was absolutely superb. This place used to be a bank and they have kept the insanely cool vault with the locked boxes. They keep different surprises in each box. I got a free cup of coffee coupon from one box.

I had a photo shoot in the area and can honestly say I’ve never been in this area of Cincinnati in the 19 years I’ve lived here. Picked this spot over all the other chain restaurants in the area. Absolutely blown away by how good the Club Sandwich was. Simple, fresh ingredients. The bacon was so damn good! They were out of the famous Chicago style Italian Beef, so I will be back soon to try that bad boy out. Not too many places that offer that Chicago classic, and if they can make a simple club taste amazing, I can only imagine how good the Italian Beef will be!

Since the opening of this lovely haven, music, specifically, excessively loud music, has been an unpleasant aspect. Having just spent a little more than an hour at The Village Troubadour without a measure of music, I must confess, the experience was utterly relaxing. None of the feeling of being held captive by fortissimos. Whether by design or chance, the silence was cherished. An increased diminuendo atmosphere would«soothe the savage beast». Great breakfast for the options you have. Coffee is good as well. Great change of scenery for a Saturday morning breakfast. I’ll go back anytime.

A hidden gem. They’ve created a very comfortable and casual setting. The instant you walk in, you feel like you’re a part of the community. I came here during lunch today and told the cashiers it was my first time coming in. They have a surprisingly large menu! One of the cashiers suggested the BLT. I subbed out plain mayo for a pesto-mayo blend. It was piled high with bacony deliciousness. Get it on rye bread. Make sure you try their coffee; I got a white chocolate latte and it was fantastic. Everything costs about as much as a sandwich and coffee from Panera, but what makes the Troubadour better is that they’re a small local business. I’ve always driven right past this place, and wondered about how well it was doing. If you’ve ever lived in or near Greenhills, you know that the small plaza The Village Troubadour is located in doesn’t have the best luck with keeping tenants. I REALLY hope that this place sticks. Bring them business!

Go here. I randomly found this while looking for a coffee shop and decided to meet a friend there. We each had a hot chocolate(neither of us drink coffee), along with a muffin and a panini. It was all amazing. Great atmosphere, very clean, very friendly employees. Got to chat with Marty, the owner of the café, for a little bit and he is an awesome guy. Definitely a place I hope to go back to many times.

I really enjoy going to this coffee shop; their coffee is always right on point. I typically get a latte or regular coffee. They get the espresso shots to the right temp and all drinks are made correctly with perfect ratio of espresso, steamed milk, and foam on the cappuccino, for example. They use high-quality ingredients such as Monin syrups and local Deeper Roots coffee. The décor is fresh and relaxing. The location is in an old bank in the Greenhills plaza. There is a main seating room with a small stage. They have musical performances on Friday & Saturday evenings. There’s even seating in the old bank vault which is a nice, unique touch. There is an area by the service counter that has a chalkboard wall for kids to draw on along with small tables for them in that area. They also have a room towards the front with living-room style seating, coffee table, and board games. This room also contains a small safe. It’s an interesting & relaxing room. The food is very good. They offer breakfasts as well as lunches: sandwiches, salads, soups, and usually a dinner special(s) on weekends, such as Italian Beef. I don’t have a lot of options on desserts as I’m medically gluten free. I did take some bites of cheesecake(avoiding the crust) and it was delicious! My husband really enjoys their desserts. They also offer smoothies and other beverages like Mexican Coke, etc. There is also free water with lemon at a small self-serve station in the main dining room. They have a to-go window which I’ve used a couple of times. This allowed me to glance into the kitchen and it looked very clean. Will return again and again. The neighborhood really needed a coffee shop/place to relax, so I’m glad it’s here!

Great Winton Woods/Forest Park neighborhood café. Love finally having a healthy option for lunch around the office. The service is always great. The owner and others are welcoming and nice about responding to menu & food prep questions. The menu is varied and I’ve tried a few things and have enjoyed them all. Favorite so far is the turkey Panini. Prices are reasonable and quick for orders to come out. They have a «kids» section which helps keep them isolated, quiet and busy(IMO) or for parents, a great«play area». I’ve also heard they have live music on some nights. Check it out!

This place is absolutely amazing. I decided to stop by for a nice lunch during the work day, and the second I pulled up to the restaurant, it looked to be an absolute hidden gem, off the main road enough that it might slip by undetected. Walking in, you are greeted with a warm welcoming upscale coffee-shop feel, and calming music. The lady behind the counter took the time to walk me through some of their more favorite options, including their nice selection of quiches, sandwiches, and breakfast options. I decided to go with the Italian Beef, and it was excellent, delivered to me by the owner himself. He prided in telling another table that it is his wife who cooks the Italian Beef herself, and it is a family recipe. It was one of the most delicious Italian Beef sandwiches I have ever had, and it makes me excited to try more of the delicious items on the menu. It’s a little bit pricey for a breakfast place, but I will definitely come here again!

So glad to have found this gem tucked away in an old plaza in Greenhills Township! This is the perfect place to have coffee or a quiet lunch with your friends, co-workers, or SO. On Friday nights they have live music from 7−9pm which is wonderful! I went for brunch and ordered the Lorraine quiche which comes with a side of dressed greens, fruit, or toast. I love quiche and theirs is one of the best I’ve had. I finished off my meal with a cup of latte and it was perfection! And of course I appreciated my latte served with a nice little leaf pattern on it :) I loved this place so much that I came back 2 days later with my family and SO. Needless to say, they loved it too. My SO had the Turkey Panini which I sampled, and I already took a mental note to order it the next time I return. I also recommend their veggie omelet if you want something light and delicious! I’m excited to come back and sample their other drinks such as hot choco and chai latte. One thing I would say is, at first glance of the menu, you might think the food is kinda pricey but remember that you would pay as much or possibly more if you go to Panera. The difference is, the quality of the food here is much better!

What an amazing little spot! I came here yesterday for coffee based off other Unilocal reviews while passing thru on a road trip. Coffee was on point, I ordered a mocha latte and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I accidentally left my wallet here and thought for sure it would be gone(since it took me hours to realize I didn’t have it). I called the shop and even though it was closed they told me they had been holding onto it safely all day and to come by and get it. Everything was still there and I am one happy girl! Thank you guardian coffee angel! I came back again today on my way out of town to say thanks again and try the food. Food was also delicious and super fresh… I am full and happy for under $ 10. Wish I could stay for their live music but the road calls. Make sure this spot is on your to do list!

Food was great here for a fun lunch spot during work. I love the local and fresh food they produce, along with the daily specials. They serve Deeper Roots coffee which is an A++ in my book, which means I get to have an awesome cappuccino with my freshly prepared lunch, which makes me a more effective employee when I return to work! I will say we wanted to get a tour of he vault after we finished to get our«free coupon», but were told we had to come back since they had a party in the room currently. The strawberry chicken salad was great, but I do think feta or goat cheese would pair better than the sharp cheddar. Either way, a great find!

Earlier this week I discovered The Village Troubadour when meeting a friend for breakfast. We had coffee and The Troubadour Plate. Eggs over easy, Goetta, toast and fruit. Fantastic! Met Marty Huff, the Owner, a man who shares my faith. Tonight I returned with my wife for dinner. My wife had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. It tasted like her own recipe — delicious! I ordered the Shrimp and rice that came with a tomato-lemon-garlic sauce and fresh salad. Everything had taste, quantity and quality in line with the price per meal. Moderately priced. To top it off, we had live entertainment. For a quiet date night, The Village Troubadour is a great choice!

Such an unexpected gem found in the Greenhills shopping plaza. I decided to take my parents for brunch today. We walked in to find a bright, cheery, and comfortable dining area. I immediately thought about bringing my laptop and doing some work on the couches in one of the side rooms. The music was soft, the people were friendly, the owner even greeted us and introduced himself! The reason we stopped by… to eat! My dad enjoyed the western omelette, Mom the delectable quiche, and myself the yummy BLT! Each plate included a side and we choose fruit or chips. The food was made fast and was fresh and tasty. Try the gem out… it’s worth the visit! We will be back for sure!

This is one of the most unique places that I have ever eaten! Mostly because this eatery/coffee shop used to be a PNC bank in an earlier life and the current owners had the foresight to keep some features from then. Upon entering, the owner greeted me warmly and after telling him I was there for book club & how many people were expected, he led me to the vault room. No kidding — this was the original vault with it’s thick combination lock door leading to a room of safe deposit boxes lining the perimeter, a large table and tin ceilings! Great for meetings or parties of 8. Against the back wall of the building is the drive-thru window which adds another uncommon dimension. Two other separate features near the entrance-way are a kids room where one wall is a chalkboard, child-sized furniture and some art supplies then a room next door with a couch and chairs that you could comfortably sink into along with some games. After ordering at the counter, they will bring your food/drink to your table. My veggie quiche and fresh fruit was quite tasty. Since I was there for brunch, they also offered omelets, salads, sandwiches and soup all at reasonable prices. Great coffee, too, with pretty latte heart art made in the foam. Without hovering, the owner checked to make sure everything was to our liking a few times and made us feel right at home. The chef also came out & talked to me about the soups he makes and how much he enjoys that. It’s wonderful to find someone who is truly excited about what they do. He was equally enthusiastic about the catering services offered(which he has been doing for years already) and showed me photos of a fruit tray and a sandwich tray he arranged– quite a presentation! They also feature live music sometimes! What’s not to like about a place like this? It’s not far from my home, so I will definitely be back with family and friends.

Everyone gripes about using«hidden gem» and I’ve never used it before because I was holding it for something special. HONEY ‘DISISIT! Literally in the MIDDLEOFNOWHERE i saw this swanky little café shining like a firery beacon of caffeine. Compared to surrounding businesses, this VT is about 3 decades ahead of the rest. Completely and unexpectedly modern. I was taken aback. There is a childrens’ play room(a wall of chalk board, caddy of crayons, and mini tables and chairs to boot), a study room with comfy lounge chairs, and the rest is a café with cute little set tables. Contemporary art on the walls with the heavenly smell of quiches. I just walked in to look around but once I saw the bright candy apple red La Marzocco staring me in the face, I had to get something. I perused the menu and found that my favorite drink was not there, so I ordered a latte from the sweet girl(because milk foaming is the only measurable standard I use to rate coffee shops). But then the very personable owner walked up, filling in for the barista today, and got me talking. I got curious enough, and asked him if he could do a cortado for me, and he did! We talked about coffee terminology and the rest of their food offerings(omelets, muffins, cheesecakes, and quiches seemed to be their biggest seller). Before I knew it, I had a lovely cortado in my hands. I walked out a happy girl. What a great way to start my day.

When first walking in, you are greeted by an open environment with ample seating varying from 2 – 4 person tables, as well as options for larger parties and a counter for those just wanting to hang out. There are two separate seating rooms in the front of the store, one of which designed for children(so yes, kid friendly). There is a another room in the back of the store that is made out of the old bank vault. When ordering, the staff was friendly and helpful. You pay at the counter and then your food is brought out to you. They do accept credit cards. By the time I had finished paying, they already had my drink(coffee) ready. They have a wide variety of coffee and non-coffee drinks including bottled coke made with sugar and not corn syrup. Their food menu provides something for everyone both for breakfast and lunch. The lunch menu includes various different sandwiches, a soup of the day, and chips or fruit as a side. If you are feeling up to it, they have a number of muffins and cakes which looked delicious. I chose to sit at the bar-type seating in the back by the window. The atmosphere at that time(early afternoon) was pretty quiet and provided to be a great reading environment. It was just enough sound to help concentrate but not enough to distract. The owner ended up bringing my food out and was very personable and was a pleasure to chat with. He even offered to refill my coffee and I wasn’t even half way done with the cup. Talk about service! The staff proceeded to check intermittently with me and offered refills while I was there. I had the BLT sandwich and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The bacon was crispy, flavorful and was not terribly greasy. It was brought out in a fairly speedy amount of time. The coffee was pretty good, not the best I have had, but you can’t argue for all you can drink for $ 1.50 and that they bring you the refills. I will say I take my coffee unusually strong, so take my review of the coffee with a grain of salt. I look forward to trying some of their other blends. They do provide complimentary wifi that is plenty fast for your average coffee shop needs and you don’t have to ask for a password or anything. I ended up staying for a few hours and I never felt rushed to leave. All this to say, it was a pleasant experience and was worth what seemed like a long wait for the shop to open. I will be returning when in the area. In summary: Parking — Plenty and free Space — Plenty ranging from single seats to large tables for groups Service — Top notch, like a full service restaurant at less the price Food — A good value for the price and better than I could make on my own Loungability — Plenty of out of the way areas to sit, read, study and not take up too much room. However, I will say I did not make the effort to check out the availability of power outlets. A good place to hang out with friends or to go to study. Overall value — Two thumbs up
