Cowboy’s Saloon

Cowboys is a great bar with a relaxed vibe! I like being able to talk to people without shouting over music.
Business must be hurting a little though because there is always a police car in the vicinity. Not cool when you need to worry about being harassed all the time. Plan a sober ride!

I don’t know about the food quality, the drink specials, how friendly the staff is, or anything else– because as I sat at my table in the middle of the bar with my company, we were ignored by the waitress– (the one with the tattoo sleeve) — because she was too fucking busy playing PULL TABS. Ten minutes we sat there (and I’m quite visible), completely ignored.
I’d be willing to give this place another try though, but I also have pretty low standards. The drunk, loud, swearing cigarette smoking patrons on the deck (located by the front door) didn’t bother me– I was looking for a dive bar– and I found one.
A couple of notes:
— Cowboy’s reminded me of that old bum bar– «The Yukon Club» that was on Lake and Grand years ago
— I wouldn’t eat here personally– I don’t like the sound of slurred speech or the smell of cigarettes on patron nor server while I’m attempting to eat
— It’s located near a large trailer park and surrounding apartment buildings. I’m guessing that’s where most of the patrons live.

Been to cowboys a few times. Wednesday night for 2 $ burgers and Fridays for the all u can eat fish. Both extremely good although just a tad slow but acceptable because they get really busy friendly staff

Dont look for quality here!!! Been coming since this place was the Firehouse. When it got new owners and changed to Cowboys, it was great! It smelled clean, Food was top notch, menu had really good variety, they had the greatest roasted, quartered chicken!!! Healthy and delish! But something happened along the way, new management maybe? Little by little, service started getting worse, and slower. If you don’t have any expectations of this place, u won’t be disappointed. If all u want is a hang out, with overpured drinks, and hot bartenders, this is for you! The menu changed back to a regular, frozen food/​fried bar menu, same thing every other bar has. When I go there now, takes forever to get served at the bar, they ignore female patrons, (fyi.female patrons are key to the bar industry) drinks are so overpured that they’re disgusting. Not everyone wants to get trashed AND throw up on their first sip! The bartenders don’t smile, they take forever to get your order. You feel like you are inconveniencing them by ordering something. It’s a shame, this bar used to be a favorite of ours, now it’s slipped down so far I hardly go there at all anymore. Like I said, if all you want is a hangout with no priorities, this place for you.

Sometimes you just want good– non fancy food and this is the place. Love the tater tot nachos and burgers. Fun patio area. Prices are great.

This place is kind hit or miss. The French dip needs some flavor. The burgers are too well done. The wings are great! We had the teriyaki flavor and the sauce was perfect. Tots are done well. Husband liked the blt with a ton of bacon. He said the pulled pork was good but he had to ask for sauce to put on it.

I’ve been to Cowboy’s Saloon a few different times. Here’s the deal. If you sit at the bar, you get served your drinks in a timely manner. However, if you sit at a table, you have to wait and wait and wait for someone to come around and take your order. Now once you order — whether it be drinks or food — you have to wait and wait and wait again. I was so thirsty and tired of waiting that I went up to the bar and asked for water. My husband and I ordered an appetizer and it arrived just 5 minutes before the main dishes we ordered. The salad I ordered was either not what was advertised in the menu, or they gave me the wrong salad. The beer we ordered (and finally received) tasted fine. So if you want to eat, go somewhere else. if you want to drink, sit at the bar — otherwise you’re going to get thirsty. Why do we sometimes go back? It’s close by. But I am never going to order food there again.

I’ve only ever been here on Tuesday night for their wing special. The deal can’t be beat, $ 5 for 2lbs of wings. For that price you are expecting the worst wings you’ve ever had or at least wings so small you can barely see them (think Buffalo Wild Wings on wing Tuesday), however that is not the case here. The wings are a good size and all of the sauces are great. I prefer the traditional hot buffalo, but have tried the others and would not discourage any of them.
The place itself reminds me if a slightly divey college bar, not really my type of place but the wings are worth it. I just wish you didn’t have to eat them there, take out would be nice although I get why they don’t allow it with the special.

So we stopped in here for a work lunch. the 4 of us has great service and nobody had any problems with their food.
I had the BLT. Holy smoke. this was the first and only time I can think of ever having a BLT at a restaurant and they put MORE bacon on then I do when making at home. We are talking like a half lbs or full lbs of bacon. Smoked Jalepeno bacon no less. Lots of lettuce and good tomato. So high marks for a great BLT, service with a smile, and properly made tator tots!
So I gave high marks for bacon coma that followed. Gotta love a good BLT.

Went there for lunch since we were in the area. They have these great pictures of bloody mary’s on their facebook page with pickles, olives, cheese cubes and beef jerky. When we got there we asked the waitress if there were any specials and she said no. So we ordered a beer and soda. However when looking at the menu they advertise $ 4 bloody mary’s until 2pm. So we called her over and ask if this was valid. She said she didn’t know because she didn’t know what time it was??? Might want to invest in a watch and learn the specials. We get the bloodies and they looked like pink lemonade they were so watery, tasted crappy too. No garnishes like the ones they picture online just a couple of olives thrown in. We ordered the fish and tots and the devil burger with fries. The fish, tots, and fries were overcooked. The tots were so overdone they were inedible so I sent them back. Waited and waited for her to bring out the new order. Never showed up just brought us the check. ??? She didn’t even discount the bill. So I paid $ 7 for three overcooked pieces of fish. By that time I didn’t even want them anymore, I just wanted to leave. Never going back.

This bar has a great atmosphere; friendly and helpful staff, strong drinks, and REALLY GOOD BURGERS. I usually don’t care about burgers that much since it’s pretty hard to mess one up, but they’re good here. And their tots are too if you can find room.

Had a beer and a whisky late night; fair offerings, ample seating, outdoor as well, and nice waitstaff. Didn’t have food.

Really excellent lunch specials and amazing burgers! I will definitely be returning. I would like to try other menu items because it looks like a great menu with decent prices. Very friendly service with a caring vibe.

If you want a casual fun bar, Cowboy’s Saloon fits the bill. It is the best casual bar in the area, and the drinks are strong with a good happy hour. The bull bits and deep fried green beans are awesome. They have decent bands on the weekend. Great décor.

It strikes me that this place is not only not bad, it’s also not better than good.
Service is very kind, but typically slow. Drinks are reasonable, but they never really pour a strong enough one. The atmosphere is casual, but you definitely shouldn’t wear your personally held beliefs on your sleeve.
It’s the north suburbs, so I guess I knew what to expect when I started coming here, I just think I would rather run across the street to Bamboo Betty’s, for some reason I just have more fun there, vs. more drunk here.

Great place to drink! Drinks are strong and cheap. Food is hit or miss though.

This is the bar that replaced the firehouse.
Its definitely been redone, casual with a western theme. The menu is typical bar food.
I had a Cowboy blue. The flavor was good. The fries were average.
My wife had a tater tot hot dish — she liked it.
Beer selection wasn’t too bad. I had a guiness
Not a bad place for the Northern Suburbs. Its nice to have some local places to enjoy.
