Jerrid Bratten is the person that I dealt with. He seemed nice enough, however I noticed the smell of cigarette smoke on him as soon as he came to my house. He responded to my call fairly quickly and seemed like he genuinely wanted to help, but I think he is a hack. One of the priorities for us was to repair a ceiling fan /light fixture. It made a buzzing sound when you flipped the switch but was not operational. This was a major priority to us because we had no light in our living room /dining room area and he completely understood this. He checked it out, was not able to locate the cause of the buzzing noise and decided that we needed a new fixture. He did all of this diagnosing at no charge, which was nice. We bought the fixture, scheduled for him to return one day the following week at 10AM. That day came, 10AM came and went but no Jerrid. I texted him around 10:30 to confirm that he was still coming and his response was that he was dealing with some family stuff and would it be ok if he came later in the week. Umm, no! I found it very unprofessional that he did not reach out to reschedule, that I had to chase him down. I am confident that if I had not texted him, he just never would have showed up. So, I said no thank you, I would seek out another option. I was referred to an electrician by a friend. Once the electrician came out and inspected the light, he found the source of the buzzing immediately — there was a receiver in the fixture for a remote — huh, go figure. Once he removed the receiver,(this is a rental for us the owner did not have the remote) it worked splendidly! Jerrid was trying to charge us $ 200 to replace a perfectly functional ceiling fan unit. There was also another light above our kitchen sink that was not working. he advised that we needed a new unit. Once again, the electrician made an adjustment and — voila! — it worked perfectly. Again, I think Jerrid is nice enough, but he clearly is limited in his skillset. The thing I REALLY have a hard time with is that he was not professional and HONEST and ETHICAL enough to admit that the light issues we had were above his knowledge base and recommend we seek out an electrician. We almost wasted hundreds of dollars because of this deceit. I am sorry, but that is not acceptable. I’d recommend that you seek out Angie’s List to find an honest service provider, but you have to pay to use that service.
