I’ve been a fan of the Grosse Point Art Center for many years. I love their presence in the community, and their show themes are pretty decent. One negative observation, is that their recent shows have been featuring a much smaller variety of art. Plus, the art they do choose to show these days seems to be hit or miss in terms of quality and community representation. In my opinion, the gallery used to be a lot more fun, yet still retained quality artist representation. Now, I just feel disappointed and unsatisfied when I leave there, because there’s so little to see now. Please bring back the art and ditch the fake exclusivity — It’s boring!

A very nice gallery that offers the artwork of local artists. This includes photography, paintings, pottery, sculpture, metalwork and jewelry. Prices run from low to high, so there’s something for everyone. They have frequent exhibits and openings where they have a DJ, snacks and cocktails which is always a nice time. Check their website for upcoming artist openings. The staff does a nice job displaying all of the items and keeping it fresh with new items. Definitely stop in if you’re looking to support a local artist and add some new items to your house or get a gift.
