The food here is a solid 3 star but the service is the worst ever. The first time I went here was at middle of Jan and it was before the 吃货小分队 mentioned this restaurant in their blog. So there weren’t many customer that night, probably 3 tables included me. It took almost 30 minute for the food to came up. It took longer than usual. To be fair, it usually took about 20 minutes to cook the fish. The food was actually not bad so I was considered to give it a second visit. Last night, Feb 20, was my second visit. When my friend and I (4 people) got there, the place was already full of people. (Because 吃货小分队 is a very popular group of people who write restaurant review and they mentioned this place in their blog, many Chinese people read it and decided to visit it). Many people were waiting so I went in and tried to write my name on the wait list. But there wasn’t a wait list. I asked one of the service and she just took a receipt from her pocket and wrote «#8 4 people» on the back for us. (Yes, it was a receipt from their previous customer). Then we wait outside. About 40 minutes passed by. I went inside and asked how long we still have to wait. The service asked me how many people do I have. They didn’t even keep track of the «Wait list». After I told them my «#8» story and said we already wait for 40 minutes, they finally agree to gave us a seat which took another 20 minutes. One important thing I need to mentioned is, every single table there was full of people but over half of the tables didn’t get their food. I heard people were complaining. Yes it took long time to cook the fish, the kitchen and the cooks must be very busy. But the waiters shouldn’t «pretend» they were busy as well because, honestly, what can you do to help the cooks? All the waiters were just going in and out of the kitchen but didn’t bring any food. Then WHAT THE HELL were you busying for. After we sat down, there were 3 tables of people got very angry be cause they wait too long but hadn’t had their food ready so they left. I was kind of impress how patient we were last night. We actually sat another 30minutes and wait for our food. While we were eating, another group of people went in and got the seat as they walk in (3 tables were empty because those people left without eating any food). But when they started to order, the waiter said the fish was sold out. It was 7:20 when we got here and it was 10:30 when we got the check. Almost one and a half hour waiting for seat, about 10 minute for the waiter to took the order and another 40 minutes for the food to be ready. In conclusion, if you don’t think you have that patient to wait or the luck to actually get a seat, don’t waste your time. It’s definitely not worth it.

This place is horrible. I don’t speak Chinese but I pointed out what I wanted from the menu and all the waitress did was nod. The food took long and the order was wrong as well. Their service is really bad. Waited 30 – 40 minutes for my food that was wrong. This shouldn’t happen at a restaurant.

First, the frog. One time it was great, and next time, it has the smell of dead fish, can’t eat it. The owner offer a $ 10 voucher try to make up for it. But you know, the frog costs 30+.
And then they offered to change it to shrimp, and after 50 minutes we are still waiting.
Horrible quality control and very bad service.

Reminds me of the brand come from China. We decided to give this place a try. But it disappointed us soon when we were seated. The dining environment is pretty old and dark, they don’t even turn on any lights (probably because there is no other customers and they were saving energy) Furnitures are very old, it looks like they didn’t remodel before they open. We ordered catfish, shrimp&crab, and cold cucumbers. The cold cucumbers was priced $ 4.99, and it is tasteless, feel like they only serve cucumbers without putting any seasonings. The fish and shrimp taste just ok, we only felt it’s not worth the price. Don’t expect their pot will include any basic veggies like you dine in China. You will have to order the veggies by yourself. We spend $ 140 for a group of 4 for a lunch. It looks like they don’t have any lunch special

Love the fish! So yummy! Price is ok for me, they have promotion now. No.1 fish original price is $ 39.99 now only $ 29.99. We ordered few sides and total come out around $ 45 after tax… Reasonable price with good service. I will go back for sure …

We came here for friend’s birthday during lunch time. It taste exactly like what we have in China! Soooo delicious! The lamb skewer is $ 2 each but big enough. After 9:00pm will be $ 1(they said will be the same size as the regular price one). Will highly recommended for people who are looking for traditional Chinese food. We definitely will keep coming back for the food~

I really like the food here in greedy cat，it tastes good， and the environment is clean， the price is not so high， i dont get why others give low stars and said expensive，but for me it’s all good

Came here again for lunch with a friend the other day because he wanted to try it. There weren’t any other patrons besides us. We ordered the catfish and a side of the enoki and seaweed. I also ordered the plum juice. They gave us a fair amount of enoki this time and very little seaweed. Think we got maybe like 3 or 4 pieces each. The plum juice was a too sweet and I didn’t even finish it. Service was much better than the first time I came but it could also be because we were the only ones there. Overall this experience was much better than the last. One thing that bugged me was the place wasn’t very clean and had a wet mop smell. The fish was good but I still think it’s overpriced. I definitely would like to try something else next time.

they are not the same restaurant as that one in HongKong Square on colima rd! I went to the wrong place expecting the food on the pic. It turns out they are from Greedy Cat Taste not this one!!!

I am from Sichuan, where is grilling fish is originally from. This place is legit and the food is really good. I don’t understand why people rate it so low and I will want to come back again. One recommendation: if the chief can cook the veggies later instead of with the fish, it would be better.

Taste good but kind of expensive. We got the coupon for free fish. We pay for tow sides, two soda and two small cold dishes then comes out around $ 40.
If they down the price that will be perfect

Very cheap quality food for ridiculously high prices! I rather eat at the phở place next door.

Place is nicely decorated, food overpriced, quality so so, waitress staff pretty Rude and expect you to understand Chinese. Environment is very smoky.

It’s my first time to come to this place. I love seafood so much. And their fish is very fresh and delicious. BbQ is good too. Will come again!

So first of all i don’t know how this place got their food license. They have burning charcol in an enclosed non ventilated room. I can hardly breathe. Then comes the staff that looks like it’s their first day on the job.
Now about the overpriced food. A stupid plate of catfish for 60 bucks. Talk about ripoff. Tastes ok but not worth 60 bucks. They are making a killing off us that’s for sure.
I recommend you wear a carbon filtered mask when entering. They are burning coal indoors.

This restaurant is unique. It’s the first of a franchise from China. We didn’t know how to order from the menu and the waiter explained well and gave us good advice. We ordered a rice fish and added some vegetables, along with 2 skillets of lamb and calamari. Everything was fresh and very tasty. The soup base of the rice fish was so good we brought that home so we could put some noodles in it and enjoy it again. We will definitely go back and try other choices in the menu.
