Meagan was wonderful, she really paid attention to what I wanted and did a great job with the cut! And the $ 35 student discount for a cut and dry is pretty great!

I LOVE this salon. I’ve been here twice now and I really can’t say enough good things about it. The girls are friendly and the stylists really know what they’re doing. My stylist makes me feel completely at ease and managed to cut my hair in a way that still looked good as it grew out. Because of how fast my hair grows (close to an inch a month) and how straight my hair is, my hair usually starts to look really raggedy and gross about a month after it’s been cut. Surprisingly, after I cut it here my hair still looked really good even though everything she cut off had grown back.
You definitely won’t regret coming here.

It’s a cute little salon in downtown Claremont. All the ladies there are extremely friendly and welcoming.
Taylor is my favorite stylist, she is super friendly and attentive to the look you’re going for. She will help you if you’re not sure what to get, and will gladly explain to you the process.
I don’t trust anyone else with my hair! They have never let me down. I moved over 30 miles away and still come back when in the area to be attended by them.

BEST in town !! The ladies are so friendly and treat their customers so well. I get my hair color, haircuts and even had my bridal haid done by Sabrina. She is amazing and explains the hair color process what to expect when i try to change colors. She listens to what you want to do with your hair and have always been more than satisfied! Get your next appointment with her.

My stylist at a different salon had to cancel my appointment because she was sick and scheduled me with Amanda at Forte. I must say, I was a tad nervous because I have had my hair messed up many times in the past but, Amanda did an AMAZING job. She did my highlights perfectly and even was very cautious of how much hair she trimmed off. I couldn’t be happier with how my hair cane out. Thank you soo much, Amanda!

I decided to call after reading the reviews and asked if they offered any discount for teachers, hoping to get the same $ 35 price that everyone talked about. Instead I was told they did not offer any discount and was told the price was $ 45. So apparently, prices have gone up in the last 2 month???

I’ve been here a few times to various people and been very happy every time. Most recently I saw Amanda, who was great and fun to talk to. She was happy to work with my requests which were pretty vague and made sure to check in along the way about making adjustments. She also asked permission before using hairspray, which was nice because I hate it when stylists go crazy with hairspray! Very satisfied with the results and the price for college students ($ 35) is very reasonable! And my blow dry stayed gorgeous all week.

Ok I am a chicken baby. I haven’t cut more than an inch off my hair since fourth grade. Taylor completely understood my nervousness and took the time to do a great consultation. I was incredibly happy with the results. Nothing but healthy hair and a big smile on my face. She is so kind and mindful of her clients. Taylor is an amazing hair stylists!

I’m the type of girl who avoids haircuts as long as I can; I hate getting new styles and I hate being asked what I want to do with my hair. Can’t I just wake up, brush a little, and go?
Luckily two of my coworkers suggested Forte Salon (OK, I guess they were both dudes, but still). I called asking for an appointment later that day and they were accommodating, though their phone etiquette definitely left a lot to be desired (i.e., Rita couldn’t put me on «hold,» she literally just put the phone down and shouted across the salon at others, while I could hear everything.)
Julissa was the only one who does eyebrow threading so I asked her to give me a haircut too. I asked her to reshape my eyebrows to give them more arch, they turned out looking like rainbow arches instead of the angle I meant, but she said I’d have to keep coming back so she could gradually reshape my arch over time… Uh, OK, you’re the pro I guess.
With my haircut, Julissa did a great job balancing what I thought I wanted with her expert advice: I wanted to preserve my length and short-​in-​the-​back-​long-​in-​the-​front style, and she wanted to chop the back for more of a blended length. My bangs were a little weirder but it could’ve just been my babystraight, flyaway-​ridden hair.
Left the salon feeling good, mostly a product of her easy conversation and expertise.

$ 10 eyebrow threading (usually $ 15 first time)
+$ 40 haircut (I guess the $ 35 is with a student discount. Oops.)

I went to this salon located in downtown Claremont because I was having a huge hair crisis before a wedding. My normal stylist was not available and I needed someone urgently.
Sabrina was an amazing stylist and I highly recommend her! I entered the salon and immediately felt welcome. It’s a little mom ‘n’ pop establishment but it definitely does not lack in style and quality. The salon is very quaint and decorated well. Also, all of the stylists were very friendly and I did not feel intimidated as I do sometimes when I go inside of a salon.
Sabrina sat me down and really discussed my needs before we proceeded with the beautification process. She really listened and I found that so important when picking a stylist. She also moved along and didn’t take hours to fix my hair (which I also appreciated after a long day at work.)
A hour and a half later… I emerged a new woman, complete with blonde high lights and a smile. Sabrina even took the time to fix my bangs because they were a little off. She made sure I was happy when I left and I appreciated her so much for that. We talked the entire time that I was visiting the salon which made the time fly.

Go in, ask for Amanda, get a haircut. Your life will improve!

Taylor has been my go-​to-​girl for over a year now, and I absolutely adore her and her work! I am always very happy with my hair at the end of every appointment, and she always understands exactly what I want even if I don’t quite know myself.
I really appreciate the time and care she puts into making my haircut exactly how I like it. We’ll usually start with a more cautious cut, then blow dry, and then I tell her where I’d like more taken off. She really makes me feel like she wants me to be happy with my cut and is just so friendly.
Love Taylor and would recommend her to anyone! I even live in San Francisco and still wait till I am in the area to have her cut my hair!

Honestly, this was the worst salon experience of my life. But, to be fair I haven’t had many other bad salon experiences.
I went to get my hair cut with one of my friends and for both of us the girls just wanted to cut our hair shorter and shorter! I only wanted a trim and ended up getting at least four inches cut off. When I asked my regular stylist (at a different salon) why this had happened (i.e. do I have unhealthy hair? terrible split ends? do I look funny with long hair?), he said no but that this was a tactic used by hair stylists to decrease styling time and make their jobs easier.
It took me forever to grow my hair back out.
Honestly… if you go here just be super strict with them about what you want and I think you’ll be okay. Definitely not my favorite place to go though.

I LOVE THIS SALON! I scheduled a first time appointment and ended up in the very skilled hands of Sabrina! I had been growing out my hair for over a year and a half in preparation for my wedding, and it was all the way down to my butt. Well it definitely served it’s purpose on my big day, and then I couldn’t WAIT to cut it all off, haha.
Sabrina asked me how much I wanted to cut and I placed my hand an inch below my shoulders showing her the cut off point. She was so excited and got to work right away. A gentle shampooing and brushing later, she placed my hair in a ponytail and cut off about a foot of hair. I always try to donate when possible, and they were so happy that my hair was MORE than eligible for a charity donation. YAY!
During my haircut, everyone at the salon was so friendly, that all of us there were chatting, laughing, joking and it totally felt like I was hanging out with friends I’ve known for years. So fun. I was almost sad when the blow dryer went on, signifying my time here was coming to an end soon :(Sabrina did SUCH an awesome cut. Not to mention she did so with very little description from me of what I wanted (I didn’t really know what I wanted, haha, just short!!). I walked out the salon feeling like a different person with my new, much shorter, sexy, layered, full of body, and falling in all the right places… Hair!!!

Friendly staff. They arrived several minutes late because the whole crew went out to celebrate (I guess that shows a positive work environment)… I wasn’t really mad because I only waited for 2 minutes. They were very apologetic.
I got my haircut the way I wanted it, Sabrina was very good. She also offered me some cupcakes from My Delight!
I like the atmosphere and the staff. It was a positive experience overall!
They also offer student discount.

Based on Unilocal reviews, I went to Forte as a walk-​in for a much needed haircut and am very pleased with the result. Amanda Scarlett was my hairdresser and she was engaging and pleasant … asked what I wanted and then executed the style as I had described.
I would recommend Amanda for sure, and the salon as a whole for quality service. :)

I’ve been going here for 3 years now and it has not disappointed. The best part of the haircuts are that they grow out so nicely! I still get compliments from the first day to the 6 months after. I like the haircuts so much, I always wait until absolutely necessary when my hair gets super long before I go.
Layer’s aren’t the only thing good at this place. I’m pretty tame and get the same long layers with sometimes side-​swept bangs but another client came in to get hot pink chunks!

I came in one morning to make an appointment and i had to come back later in the afternoon. Fail. When i came back. i couldnt find any parking and there were soo many ppl out and about. Rescheduled for another time and i made sure i got it early in the day only because i like to get it out of the way and have the rest of my day. and its more quiet there in the morning.
Sabrina did my hair. I had hair down to my hips almost. and i told her i wanted it shorter. She was very kind and listened to how i wanted it even thought i wasnt really sure how i wanted it. Soft with lots of layers. My hair did look shorter that i expected but only cuz i had all layers in it. She blew out my hair and it came out pretty. i shouldve taken a b4 and after shot. Everyone loves my hair. ive never gotten it this short b4. It does feel kinda weird but i think when i go back for another cut. i might just go a little bit shorter. Eeeeekk.

I’m the kind of girl who usually cries at the salon. I’ve gotten my share of bad haircuts, and, at this age, it’s seriously unacceptable to go out into the world feeling ugly instead of pretty after a visit to your hairdresser. It was okay in grade school, but as an adult– No! It’s not okay to mess with my hair!
I called in the morning and they told me I could walk right in. There was no wait, and– because I live in Downtown LA– the free parking was a blessing. I love Claremont. Right away, Taylor asked me what I wanted, and I have no idea how she understood me. All I asked was for her to make my hair pretty. I’m really happy with the way Taylor fixed the bedraggled, choppy, uneven mess my hair had become. The blowout was beautiful, I felt like a movie star afterwards!
I don’t think I got my Unilocal special, but it doesn’t matter, a haircut and an amazing blowdry for $ 35?! Well worth it.
