All I have to say is the sandwiches are out of this world. I am a Clarence native and this truly is one of the north towns best kept secrets! The rolls are baked fresh daily and the meat is sliced fresh as well. You can beat the price and quality of the food. They only accept cash but you can totally understand why when you walk out with a big hearty lunch including a drink and chips for $ 5, credit cards would only drive the prices up! One of the things the deli is known for is their breakfast sandwiches in which they use a fresh egg with your choice of cheese and you can pick from several types of breakfast meat. This is the one thing I missed from Buffalo when I was living out of state for many years. This place is great, you have to try it. Its very quick for those on a lunch break, usually in and out in 5 minutes unless you get something that needs to be on the grill for a while. There’s definitely a reason this place has been a dining staple in Clarence for over 25 years!

I was back in the area and stopped in for the first time in years. It’s a small place deli /corner store with decent sandwiches. It wasn’t the fastest service in the world but the tuna melt I ordered was great and was only a few bucks. The only pain point was that they don’t credit cards but as long as you know beforehand it’s not a big deal. I’ll definitely stop in again the next time I’m in the area.

This is the best deli in Clarence Hollow, hands down! The sandwiches are just the right size and made with the care by everyone who works there. My entire lunch is usually under $ 5.00, breakfast is even cheaper. I highly recommend their breakfast sandwiches, their lunchtime sandwich specials, and all of their subs. This is so much better than any other quick take-out in Clarence and well worth the stop next time you are in the area. Friend them on Facebook and you will be notified of their daily special.

I drive by this place now and then on the way to work and finally decided to give it a try. First off they only take cas onlyh, no credit or debit cards. Who doesn’t take plastic in 2013? I ordered a turkey sub and brought it to work with me. When it was time to eat(only a few hours later) I was nothing but disappointed. There was only four small slices of turkey on the whole sub making the meat layer paper thin, only a sparse sprinkling of lettuce and then the worst part… The sub bread was stale, not a little like the end 3 inches was hard as a rock, just inedible. I figured I’d give the place a second try a few days later and ordered a ham sub. It only had the same dismal amount of meat, the lettuce was kinda squishy and I even told the lady making it that the prior one was stale and hard. She reassured me that they were fresh and asked me if I wanted it toasted. I said no as to try and keep the sub bread soft but when I unwrapped it the roll was freakin stale and hard again. This place sucks, stay away, 7 – 11 has better subs and they’re not good at all.

The game«Simon says» was actually invented by Simon who owns this deli. OK, I can’t back that up. But… Simon rocks! This place has some of the best sandwiches in Buffalo, and since nobody knows about it, it’s like, $ 2 for a sandwich. I have to say that when Simon himself makes the sandwiches, they come out tasting like heaven — anybody else, and it’s a bit hit or miss. But they are just so cheap and there is nothing like them anywhere! What to get: Bernina Club, Sausage Egg & Butter Sandwich. I highly recommend the Sausage and Egg, and add butter, and similarly the bacon and egg(with butter) is delicious. The rolls are fresh baked by Simon’s and everything is grilled or fried right in front of you, nothing is processed. I recommend getting the egg runny(the way eggs should be) because then it tastes even better. If I sound a little incoherent it is because I just woke up and wish I was still sleeping. Clarence Deli is really just a little corner store, in a lovely old little building, with a meat deli counter. But it is the fact that they have a grill behind the counter that makes all the difference. Their signature sandwich is called the Bernina Club. It’s the one that everyone raves about. It has roast beef, salad, oil, and provolone cheese(and fried onions I think). This is the mother of all sandwiches, assuming the mother is a good thing, and yes you guessed it, it’ll cost you about $ 3. Absolutely incredible prices. They also make a mean Fried Bologna and Onions sandwich — juicy, greasy, sinful and delicious — and dirt cheap like everything else here. And there are at least 20 other good sandwiches here! Wow! It’s Clarence’s best kept secret, so please don’t tell anybody, and don’t go and do anything stupid like put it on Unilocal or anything. ;)

Great catering option! Our church often orders deli meats and freshly baked rolls for lunch/dinner functions from here — always delicious, reasonable prices.

Your usual assortment of hot and cold subs made out of your typical inexpensive ingredients, but the Clarence Deli does the little things right. Their subs and sandwiches do not skimp on the fillings, lettuce is properly shredded, tomatoes evenly sliced, and onions(at least on hot subs) are lightly griddled. Just as importantly, the ingredients are neatly packed into rolls such that they stay in place. Stuffing sandwiches without losing structural integrity is actually a pretty difficult undertaking. For what it’s worth, I recommend getting the royal sub: ham, cappicola and Italian sausage. And if you’re not done doing war against your body, you can also pick up a pack of smokes. Warning: service is efficient by being perfunctory. Have your order ready by the time you’re in line. This is a popular lunch spot for overall-clad contractors who are in a hurry to get back to work, so don’t waste their time by doddering in line.
