It’s revamp time! Ready? Here we go! This is definitely one of the more, modern looking A&P’s that has the«edge» over the Fanwood location. It’s bigger and cleaner. They have a much higher variety of groceries, compared to the other store. Their bakery department looked really big and offered a reasonable amount of cakes and pastries for ordering and purchase. Their deli also looked big and offered more meats and cheeses to slice than the Fanwood one. Do you know what you want? «Keeping it Fresh» — Their produce department is huge! Various fruits and vegetables were scattered about in an open space, with some others lined up in a shelf on one side of the store. The items that I got here were really fresh! Much of what was available here looked fresh too. «Consumable Extras» — Right next to the Deli was a spot where people could buy some fresh sushi. There was also a spot where people could buy prepared pizza pies, even though you had to heat that up in the oven at home before eating it. I had that before and it was good! Finally, they have a place where you could buy LAVAZZA coffee so you can drink while you shop, or take a break from shopping. Sounds good? The coffee there was good! We only come here to get certain groceries when it’s on sale and the lowest price. We never had an issue finding the certain items that we need since the shelves that we looked through were very well-organized. We’ve also never had an issue with rude staff members either. The people who worked at the cash registers had pleasant attitudes. As with any A&P, prices can actually be a little higher than some of the other competitors in the area. But sometimes, we actually find some groceries that are cheaper than the other competitors. But it doesn’t happen quite often, though. Also, they can be a stickler with getting discounts at times. One time, we couldn’t scan anything without scanning our membership card first. Some other places allowed you to scan items and coupons first before scanning your card. So much for the ultimate discount here. Also, there was one time when I saw an item that had a sales tag on it. But there was a very tiny fine print that said that you had to buy a minimum quantity in order to get the discounted rate. It was so small that not everyone could see that. Sticklers. The parking lot here is huge. I never had an issue finding a spot at all. Considering all of the above, my rating will remain the same. It’s much better than the Fanwood location, but that doesn’t mean the maximum rating is warranted.

The place is large and beautiful. When looking for a selection I find many times that they stock row after row of the same item instead of rows of different selections. As an example I was looking for turkey legs. They had row after row of wings and no legs.

This A & P(«Fresh») is one of the nicest and cleanest grocery stores I’ve ever been in. Definitely looks like a place where wealthier people would shop. They have a great selection of anything you might want, and a huge produce department where all of the veggies and fruit looks really fresh. Only downfall is, you’re definitely paying for it. This place is pretty expensive in comparison to Shop-Rite and Pathmark, but if you shop for things on sale you might get a good deal. The prices are comparable to Target(if you’ve ever been to one that has a grocery in it). Also, if you can’t find it here or think you can get it cheaper, there’s a Shop-Rite just down the road.
