Wine Anthology

I ordered 2 bottles of expensive whiskey 2 weeks ago and never got a shipping confirmation. When I contacted them they told me they sold them and wouldn’t be getting them back in. I’ve never been inside the store but I will never be ordering through them again.

Prices are prices. This isn’t a discount liquor store. What they do have is a really smart staff that knows wine. Good selection and I rarely leave without a good recommendation that I happy with. Once in a while they run out of my favorite Sean Minor, but I’m a fan of anywhere I can leave smarter (about wine) than when I walked in. Lots of good beer selection too.

I saw a good price on some champagne on their website and stopped into the store hoping it would be the same. Luckily it was and they had plenty available. Prices did seem a little high on some of the items but the sale items had great prices. I’d come back again.

Ahh, this is probably the place where I would be buying liquor from now on (sorry ShopRite!). This place fulfills the spot for having a liquor store in the Clark area. It’s located in the same parking lot as Target and Marshall’s, but placed in the back of the general area. The location is perfect for anyone who wanted to buy some booze before jumping on to the Garden State Parkway.
Don’t let the name fool you. Sure the name of the store says «Wine», but this store carries more than just the various types of wine. They also carried various types of beer, malt-​type drinks, vodka, whiskey, and gin. Of course we can’t forget about the various cordial drinks, including Bailey’s and Godiva. Pretty cool, huh?
During my recent experience, we came here to see if they had Bailey’s Chocolate Cherry flavored Irish Crème. Surely they had a limited quantity of this drink, and when we saw the price, we were positively stunned! They had it on sale, and it was MUCH LOWER than what ShopRite had asked for. We had to actually ask the nice saleslady for a price check, and she said it was correct. She also warned us that once the merchandise ran out, the price would be raised after they order new bottles. We actually bought two bottles because of the low price. The drink itself was good when we tried some at home.
The prices here were really competitive! The prices with the sales tag on them were quite low. In regards to the regular priced items, the competitiveness really depended on what you were trying to get. I compared some prices with ShopRite, and it was either lower than that store, or the same. At least I didn’t see anything that was priced higher than ShopRite.
Overall, the store was very organized. Customer service here was very good. We never had an issue with parking since this was shared with a bigger lot. Overall, a very impressive liquor store!

I was pleased to find online some of the beers I can’t get out here in CA so I placed an order. I received my order safe and sound but I had some concerns so I wrote an email… nothing. They sent me 3 bottles that were barely filled above the shoulder and a premium priced IPA that was over 4 months old! Someone personally handled and wrapped each bottle and I would think one would notice these low-​fills. I understand things happen but it would be a great idea to read and answer the emails sent to your «help» account. I sent my email over a week ago.

I don’t see where the good reviews come from, It’s called Wine Anthology, you would think the wine selection would be huge. Small selection. Try Vine Republic on route 22 in Mountainside, awesome place for wine.

First of all — their prices are unbeatable (at least in Manhattan) and if you buy more than one drink, the shipping is probably going to be worth it. (I have had 60 $ difference on one of the bottles!!). Their customer service is attentive and we were very happy with the order.

You might not guess it based on appearances, but tucked away in the corner of a strip mall in Clark lies one of the better wine stores in the area, one I prefer to the more heavily advertised /​better-​known Wine Library in Summit.
Wine Anthology isn’t the biggest or most widely-​stocked wine store I’ve ever been to, but it does have a carefully curated selection of good wines offered at competitive prices. One thing I like about WA is that it groups all the ‘good’ (90+) wines together, so you don’t have hunt to find the ones you’re looking for. They’ve got many, many good choices in that section, including some harder-​to-​find bottles you won’t see elsewhere.
The beer & spirits selections merit 3 stars: fine, with lots of good choices, but nothing too out of the ordinary, and with selection ultimately limited by the smallish size of the store. A perfectly OK place to pick up a standard bottle or 6-​pack, but maybe not the place to come when you’re trying to track down something rare or special.
I haven’t placed online orders here yet, but other reviewers seem to have had positive experiences. For walk-​in, the store is conveniently located right off the GS Parkway.

WineAnthology has become my go-​to source for fine wine. Very reliable online purchasing and shipping (over many orders), excellent selection, excellent prices.

a few times and I’ve never been disappointed. They always ship orders out quickly, the shipping charges are reasonable, and they have a great selection of spirits and wines that are incredibly hard to find locally. I plan on doing business with them for a long time.

Fantastic wine selection, specially for rare finds. Very helpful staff who provide great wine suggestions when needed and great online delivery prices! Love having the great deals online and never have to leave my house!

My online order was received in two days. I ended up placing two orders within 30 mins of another, my mistake. They combined shipping and discounted without me having to call. That kind of foresight is why I have placed another order for a case of wine.

small but has a decent selection of everything… great store in a pinch

I placed an order on ¹²⁄₁₇. When it arrived, they made a mistake with 5 bottles and sent a label for me to return those, which I did. Two weeks passed without my getting those I’d ordered. The first explanation was that they were out of stock on the wine I’d ordered. Today (¹²⁄₃₁), I got a call saying they received the return and had been waiting for that to replace my missing wine. «We couldn’t be sure you would send them,» I was told. That’s not what a reputable company does. They correct the error. And I pointed out they’d faxed a shipping label so could have tracked the shipment if they didn’t trust me not to return $ 5 bottles of wine I hadn’t ordered. Both the mistake and the way they dealt with it were disappointing. I see they responded to the other negative review and expect they will do the same here.

Wine Anthology is a breath of fresh air. I am used to Elizabeth’s grimy corner liquor stores that basically scream RAPE when you walk in alone. Wine Anthology is big, clean, and has a large selection of wine as well as beer and liquor. I’ve never not found something I wanted in here. Unfortunately they close kind of early, but that’s not their fault… damn NJ laws!

I placed my order the night of May 30. They shipped Fed Ex and I received emails tracking the package from pick up to delivery. I received my order today June 2. Awesome service! Will order again!

So I ordered a bottle of hard-​to-​find bourbon from these guys. The order was shipped the very next day. The bourbon arrived across country, in a very secure manner within the week. Now, I have a nice bottle that I can either save as a collectable, or open when I get that big job! The bourbon was priced $ 15 less than anywhere else on the web, or any physical location that claimed they could backorder it, and I couldn’t find it at specialty stores like K&L or Vintage Wine & Spirits. They were also very responsive to my e-​mail inquiry, replying within 24 hours. 5 stars for these guys!

This is the closest liquor store to my house and I’m glad it is. They have a great selection of beer, wine and liquor, and it’s all reasonably priced. The employees are all really helpful and it’s a new, clean store. Plus they have Skinnygirl margaritas :) and they had free samples of red and white sangria when I visited last!

My first dealing with this company is also my last. I placed a ‘futures’ order with Wine Anthology because they had the best price through several specialty search sites. Five days after my order I got what seem to be a system generated email that said my order was void.
Three calls to the company (during business hours) went straight to voicemail. I launched a chat session on their website, which clearly indicated an agent was available. I got the typical ‘My name is [xxxxx], how can I help you?”. After my inquiry for the void and 2 repeated requests for a response, I had to log off because obviously no one was there.
Sure some orders cannot be filled for high demand products but this is not that high in demand. Good merchants will offer alternatives for similar products if they can’t fill the order. The average companies will at least provide an explanation. This company cancels the order and disappears.
