We stopped in for breakfast on the way to the airport. Excellent grilled sausage with breakfast. Homefries crispy, not too greasy. Friendly, fast service. We’ll be back.

This is a nice little place. I’d say the food is about equally as good as the Gourmet Diner on the other side of Clarks Summit, but one nice thing is this place is a lot bigger, so you don’t feel like you’re crammed in a tiny booth. My wife got the Italian Hoagie, which was good. Nothing special, but the bread was very good which was a plus. I got the Meatloaf Melt sandwich, and that thing was awesome. We had split our meals, and later that day my wife was still talking about how good the meatloaf melt was. I’m not sure if they have it every day, it was on the specials board. If it’s not on the menu, ask if they can make it, you won’t regret it. My father in law told us we had to try the cinnamon toast, and that was another winner. Probably the best cinnamon toast I’ve ever had. Like I said, they do some thing better than others, but overall all the food is very good, and we’ll definitely be back.

I’ve been avoiding this restaurant for 20 years. Frankly, its not very inviting from the outside. Its got a bit of the Bates Motel look from the road. But, it recently received some prime publicity after an episode of some restaurant makeover show filmed an episode here. It was all over the local newspaper. So, I thought we should give it a try for breakfast today. The results were mixed, at best. The first impression was from the parking lot, and it was not positive. The small, paved lot in front was full. After dropping my wife off in front, I followed the sign for additional parking in the muddy lot behind the building. Apparently, the makeover neglected the back of the building. It looked like the the backyard from hell. It was full of debris, and the building looked like a shack from the back. I just can’t understand how a restaurant owner would allow customers to see something like this. Wouldn’t he/she think customers are going to form an impression from this view. I understand this is the back of the building. But, it is visible to everybody who parks in the back. If my wife weren’t already waiting inside, I likely would have pulled out before even going in. Once inside, we were seated immediately. But, we then waited for about 10 minutes before receiving any attention. There was one server covering 3 tables in our room, including ours. She passed us about a half dozen times as she walked back and forth to wait on the other 2 tables. She never acknowledged us. Nobody even gave us menus. So we just sat. After about 10 minutes the waitress who had been ignoring us asked if we wanted coffee. After bringing us two cups of weak coffee, she disappeared for another 10 minutes. She then came over to take our orders. We then had the chance to ask for menus. So, after 20 minutes we placed our order. I will not continue with the blow by blow on the poor service. Suffice it to say it didn’t get any better We spent more than an hour there to have a tuna sandwich(me) and an omlette(my wife). The food was actually good. Unfortunately, the food was not sufficient to compensate for the really weak service. I will not be returning. Having never been to this place before the makeover, I can’t comment on the extent of the facility’s improvement. But, clearly, it takes more than a superficial makeover to make a successful restaurant.

The food here is always delicious. My family is there almost once a week amd we never have a bad meal. They bake a lot of their own breads and have a ton of awesome pies, cookies, brownies, etc, to eat there or take home. For the most part the wait staff is very friendly and helpful. The only downside is that it is SLOW. Do not go there if you are in any sort of rush or get frustrated by waiting for your food. Other than that, I love it there.

Total nightmare. Came here for breakfast with a party of 6 and 3 orders of pancakes were raw. The pancakes that were cooked were lack luster at best. It was overall a very disappointing experience. When a second order of pancakes were brought out they were also raw. The waitress did give us some free cinnamon buns to make up for the pancakes which was nice. I will not be returning.

The food was excellent! I ordered some pancakes and I couldn’t even finish them they were so big. I will definitely come back because it’s so close to my house. One problem that we had was the service. It was super slow and we were practically the only people in there. The staff isn’t very nice to each other and they forget about their tables. Waited about 20 minutes, then ate for 15. Then we waited about 25 minutes for our check. I’d definitely check it out on your way through, great place!

Big and tasty, filling breakfast sandwiches. I tried the egg, sausage and cheese on a fresh baked hard roll. Sit down and enjoy, this is not fast food. Fluffy pancakes topped with maple syrup and local blueberries, fresh baked pastries, super friendly staff and busy.

Four stars for the barbeque pit on Sundays in the Summer! It may look a little haphazard but the ribs and chicken are A+!

Good grief! We drove here on the recommendation of these Unilocal reviews. We literally flew past it the first time. When our GPS indicated we passed it, we had no idea how that could be possible. We turned around at the light(which is no simple feat considering the brutal road construction) … and, it took us a moment to realize that this place is in a MOTEL. Repeat, MOTEL.(I literally had no idea that«motels» still exist outside of Disney World Theme Parks) .And, seriously, we are talking something straight out of a Hitchcock film. It’s a weird, low-to-ground, old building with curtains inspired by an episode of The Waltons. The parking lot was completely vacant.(Cue the theme from Psycho). We decided to get out of the vehicle(against my better judgement) to buy some baked goods. Although the sign indicated that they were open until 8:00PM, the entire place was locked up … it was 7:00PM. Either this place is closed for vacation, closed entirely, or just closes when it hasn’t seen a patron in few hours. Maybe it’s a hang-out for the elderly? No idea. From the door, we could see the bakery case was sweating and dripping condensation. Not particularly inspiring to the health conscious. Returning here is SOOOO not an option. We literally joked that if we were DARED to enter that building, we’d have to elect to lose that bet.

Since we moved to Clarks Summit only a few months ago, we have now found our favorite breakfast spot! A friend told us to check this place out and we now go there every Sunday. This place serves REALHOMEMADE corned beef hash, which I have never found at any other local restaurant or diner. They also make all of their own rolls and toast. My husband had the western egg sandwich today and it was served on a super soft and amazing homemade roll, had big grilled peppers and ham and was by far the most impressive egg sandwich we’ve ever seen. The coffee is served hot and is actually really good coffee. The prices are reasonable and service is great. It does get busy and yes sometimes you have to wait, but for a good reason. Oh and they have really great breakfast specials too! Definitely worth a visit and a good review.

This place gets packed and you have to wait long to get a table. The staff is not very friendly. The food is nothing special. This is one of those places that people go because it’s the place to be or be seen.

I went here for a late breakfast on a Saturday, and was happy with my food but not thrilled. I ordered the special which was pumpkin pancakes with a side of bacon or sausage. I got the bacon and it wasn’t quite cooked enough for my liking and was very greasy. The pancakes were huge and pretty delicious but did seem a little under cooked in the middle. Another at my table had an omelet which looked really good and she enjoyed. Someone else had the cinnamon raisin French toast with sausage, but said that you couldn’t even tell that it was a flavored toast and it was very eggy. The sausage tasted more like a sweet Italian sausage rather than a breakfast sausage which was a little disappointing. The service was good and I did enjoy the pancakes so I would go back to try some other things.

Best breakfast in town, the breads and desserts are homemade. Sometimes the kitchen can take a while but it’s worth the wait. The portions are large so you get what you pay for. They always have fun specials like banana nut french toast — amazing.

Good parking and easy access just beyond Clarks Summit. You enter and leave passing the yummy bakery goods case(pies, cookies, brownies, muffins etc. What we have sampled from it was very good. It is pretty large with about 10 booths and 10 tables. Some accommodate groups of 6 – 8 or more by rearranging. Breakfast is good here. Nice menu with some creativity. The tomato, onion, cheese omelet is usually excellent. There are many others with some creativity.(e, g, kielbasi). Potatoes are not the default with some dishes so check carefully if you care. Extra cost over grilled potatoes are very good instead of fried if you prefer. Side toast is from the bakery of course an excellent. Get a grilled muffin as a side special treat(or alone with the decent coffee), they are pretty big. Most breakfast(and lunch) portions are large. Take home is frequent, especially if one opts for a pastry or pie with the meal. Creative sandwiches and soup are the lunch fare but breakfast available through lunchtime too. Service is generally good, but as with many places when things get hectic and the house is packed, there are occasional minor stumbles. Remember to check out the pies and such as you pay the check. The cookies(chocolate chip are good) make good road food.

I dined at the Glenburn Grill when in town to visit my family. We waited maybe 10 – 15 minutes until we were finally greeted by someone. At least we were soon seated after that. I didn’t mind waiting for a table at all; I just wanted someone to acknowledge us and take our name down for a waiting list. Other people came into the restaurant around the same time as us, and it started to become unclear who should be seated next. This situation could’ve easily been mitigated by a hostess greeting people as they entered the restaurant. Our waitress came over a short while after. She was very rude and snippy with us, saying something like«Are you ready to order your drinks or what?» She was very short with us the entire time and had an overall unpleasant attitude. The food took FOREVER. Other tables that were seated around the same time as us had received their food and finished their meals in the time it took to receive ours. My father’s toast was COMPLETELY burnt(clearly visible from a quick look at his plate). Perhaps it had been in the toaster the whole time we had waited? Does this restaurant have no quality control? This burnt food should NEVER have made it out to the dining room. The stand-in waiter who brought us our food(not sure what happened to our original waitress) replaced the toast without incident. Our side order of bacon was also very burnt, and I found it to be inedible. My omelet was very soggy and burnt on the bottom(not sure how they managed to achieve both of these things). The top and middle of the omelet were decent, so I at least had enough food to eat. I see no reason to ever return to this establishment, and I would not recommend it to anyone.

I resently had a ruben Sandwich here. It was awesome. It was built like a club sandwich with three slices of bread and twice the meat and saurkraut that you would normally get on a ruben sandwich. Very tasty. My only disappointment was the service was slow. Do not know if there were not enough watresses or just slow ones. You could not beat the food and the prices though. Very friendly staff and plenty of room, pleasant atmosphere and clean restrooms(always a plus)

I recently had Eggs Benedict with kielbasa, and I have to say the eggs have come a long way. They were perfectly poached. The whites were solid but not overly firm, and the yolks, amazingly fluid and warm. The kielbasa was delicious, as usual and the hollandaise sauce, IMO, tastes better than a lot of high end restaurants. They need to work on the coffee a bit. Service, while very pleasant, can be slow if you sit more than five or six people at your table.
