My brother said I «had» to try the CBR sub at the NYX. Well he wasn’t kidding, food is amazing, great atmosphere. Best beer selection around !

This review is based on 2 separate visits to this restaurant. The service today was ridiculously slow. They had one guy waiting tables. The menu is really small. They have a few different burger options, french fries, and wings. The décor is nice I have to admit, but don’t go there for the food. Also I ordered a soda because I wasn’t drinking(had my daughter with me) and it was flat! My friends ordered wings and I didn’t try them but they looked like day-old wings to me for some reason. The first time we went there was hummus on the menu and I ordered it. Thoroughly disappointing. Its not on the menu anymore… I guess they figured out that they really don’t have a good recipe for it.

My son had a wrestling dual at Abington Heights… I was in the area early and needed a meal and a beer to take the edge off… Watching my son wrestle is an event that is makes me very happy but at the same time has me fending off a heart attack… Now for the review… This is a nice place, older crowd, quiet environment and a good craft beer selection. Upon entering, the bartender noticed me and seemed to read my mind. He knew I needed a beer and food menu and that I needed a beer immediately. I don’t know if I looked thirsty, nervous or desparate… I ordered a 10pz stone double bastard, great beer! The bar menu is simple and typical for a bar… Everything you would need in a place like this… Mostly burgers… I ordered a Smeigel burger. The food came quickly and it was terrific! The burger was big, cooked exactly how I asked and covered with the perfect amount of onions, jalepeno’s, lettuce and cheese. The fies were hand cut and phenomenal… They came in a paper bag… Some of the best bar food I have ever had… I’ve been been to a lot of bars too… There were to bar tenders… They were quiet but attentive… I would recommend this place to anyone who is in the area without children…

I was here with a buddy to play pool. We had a blast because nobody was in this place. My friend got a burger and fries. They looked good but I didn’t try any food. The wooden plates and chopping blocks they use to serve food are odd. Wood is difficult to get clean. I see people bashing them for having a limited menu. I think that could be a good thing. Focus bar food such as burgers and wings and knock them out of the park. I’m not sure if they are knocking them out of the park but I see nothing wrong with keeping the menu simple. If they started adding more items the quality might suffer and you might start getting frozen boxed items. I can see this place becoming overrun with desperate house wife types on the weekend nights. Like you get at State Street Grill. Just a heads up for all you common folk out there :)

Very good beer selection, and bar food is fantastic. They do those right. Tight table space, but clean. Servers could use some training, and forget about getting time at the pool table since the same 3 persons will hog it all night.

Great bar. Good beers that they update frequently, good vibe, really good customer service — bartenders and servers do a real nice job. A welcome addition to the Clarks Summit bar/restaurant scene.

I love The Nyx!!! I come here and hang out every time I visit the area. The bartenders and staff are such lovely people. Charlie makes it really feel like home. Best bar in the area by far!

The Mac and cheese burger is my favorite. I’m always super basic when it comes to ordering things but I tried this and loved it. I get it every time. The portions are huge. They have gotten smaller since they opened but still a lot of food!

The food is so lack luster. We ordered a burger and wings. Both were so incredibly disappointing. The wings were covered in some absurd marinara like sauce. I found them to be inedible. My boyfriend seemed to enjoy the burger, however I found it to be very unseasoned. No flavor at all. The décor is odd and unattractive. I was told that the music could not be played louder by the bartender. It was nearly inaudible. We tried the establishment bc we were so excited to see a new bar in clarks summit! I was very dissapointed to see it was just an overpriced try at a being an urban, hip joint. I usually try a new place more than once, but I don’t feel compelled whatsoever to try them again unless the menu changes dramatically. It was one of the most limited menus I’ve ever encountered ! The service was mediocre and we waited with empty glasses for a few minutes more than once. The bartender didn’t question why we didn’t eat the wings, nor wanted to take them home, which I would have thought was a strong indicator that we didn’t like them! Also, we introduced ourselves to the owner, whom was very standoffish and seemed to care less about our experience. To put it bluntly, she was rather rude. All in all, we were incredibly dissapointed and will never return.

Nyx has great burgers, fresh cut fries, and a nice selection of beers. The bar is comfortable and the servers attentive. We’ll be back.

The food and vibe from Nyxx is exactly what my wife and I were looking for. Nothing getting served delicious burgers and fries while enjoying a nice refreshing beverage from one of their very talented wait staff. Only downside was their menu was on the smaller side but I understand simple is better when making a menu

Give it a year. It will be gone. Food needs a lot of work. How can you ruin the wings. Outside dining — a nice view of the parking lot. See ya at the«Grill» or under the«bridge».

Clarks Summit has a new bar! This is a big freaking deal, and I was SUPER pumped to try it out when I went back to visit. Overall, this place is bar the coolest bar in Clarks Summit. If I still lived in NEPA, I would be back here at least once a week. That being said, there are still a few things that they could improve on, mostly with their food. The décor inside is dark and kind of weird, and the area inside is very small. There’s not a lot of tables to sit at, so that’s not good if you come here with a big group. But the outdoor patio is very nice, and there’s a lot of tables that you can combine together for all of your friends! They have a pool table inside too. The beer list is pretty good, and they have a lot of craft beers, another pleasant surprise for Clarks Summit. Their beer prices are also pretty reasonable, and their pitcher prices are downright cheap. Now, the food. Their menu is 90% burgers, so if you’re not looking for a burger, your options are very limited here. I ended up getting the mushroom/swiss burger(sorry, I don’t remember the name), which was dry and needed seasoning. A few of my friends ordered the burger with mac and cheese on it, and they seemed to really like it. The burgers are very large and the fries are pretty good and fresh cut. My friend liked the chicken strips. Overall, the food looks better than it tastes, but is really good compared to the other restaurants that are available in the area! Definitely a place you should try in Clarks Summit.

First, the good parts. Menu is great, burgers are fantastic, fries are good, wing bites are good. Beer list is the best you’ll find in the Summit and just about everything on tap has a pitcher price, even the craft stuff. Very welcoming and laid back atmosphere, plenty of seating. Now for the weird part. This bar has an identity crisis currently. The crowd is a mix of hipsters, holdovers from the dive bar that used to occupy the space, and regular folks. No one is unfriendly or anything like that but one night you’ll see guys in plaid and work boots, the next night you’ll see guys and gals dressed to the nines, and other nights it is fedora city. And, despite being open for a few months, the place seems unfinished. In fact the entire second floor and second story deck are not finished yet and the lower level deck just got finished not too long ago. Also, the beer seems absurdly cheap while the food pricing is on par with what I’d expect to pay at a restaurant. I’m talking $ 2 for Stone Old Guardian and $ 4 for Ommegang Three-Eyed Raven and $ 9 for a burger. This isn’t a bad thing, but certainly explains the odd crowd. Now, the bad. It is too bright for a bar, not the color scheme, the lights seem to be intentionally kept bright, either they don’t have a dimmer switch or refuse to use. It also lacks any sort of fun vibe, in it’s current state it is not someplace I’d take friends to drink and grab a bite, it’s a place I’d go to talk shop with my business partner, grab a drink, and leave. The vibe wasn’t helped by my most recent experience when I witnessed my bar tender get chewed out in front of me by and owner or manager and got the«what are you looking at» stare from said owner or manager afterward. This place has a lot of potential, I’m looking forward to changing this review to a 4 or a 5 as the place evolves and finds itself.

We visited on a Saturday around 6:00. Besides a few older people sipping beers on the back patio, the place was pretty dead. We found a seat at a table so that we could enjoy dinner. The back of my chair was twice smashed into by a door that the servers used so we moved to another table … where we were nearly run into repeatedly by the servers. I’m certain that the owners will find an appropriate way to rearrange the seating situation, but it’s not quite«there» yet. The menu is extremely limited, so we both ordered burgers. The accompanying fries were limp and inedible. Likewise, the burgers lack the fundamentals of salt and pepper(this is «cooking 101,» people). Hence, no mac & cheese toppings could compensate for the flat, tasteless quality of the food. The fries were left in their paper bags virtually untouched. Likewise, after a few bites of the burgers, we decided it was time to head out. No need to box anything … at all. If you are into the Red Hot Chili Peppers(which were played and played and played during our stay … and NOT from the jukebox … eek!) and under-seasoned everything, this might be your new haunt. Otherwise, try elsewhere.

Read the previous 5 reviews. They are all pretty spot on even the small critique of the O rings. They look a little well done the two times I’ve seen them ordered. Not a fan of them so I’m just speaking observationally there. However! The Armettas have threaded the needle here. The place is so perfectly slotted between being pretentious like another nearby place and a diner. The burgers are great and unusual. I even had the Emma last night. A black bean burger. Totally prepared to be disappointed but honestly loved it and would have it again. Fries are awesome. Hands down! I hate you! Im trying to drop 10 lbs. they’re not helping! Beer is diverse and very reasonably priced with real happy hour specials. They have Direct TV and this place will be a great destination for the NFL and college in the fall. Cheese steak have had twice. Excellent both times. Maybe the other reviewer caught a bad one? One critique/suggestion. Please add some chili, soups, ah and a red cabbage slaw to have with the burgers and sandwiches. I just know you’ve got a great version in you. Bottom line really love the place. Best thing to happen in CS gastronomically in years.

«This bar does not allow smoking.» Allow that to sink in. Then breathe in the literally«rare» air. I could go on about the fresh air, but that would sell the cooks and the bartenders short. The food is good(try the Carmine Burger — bacon & Mac and Cheese), the music is eclectic and the crowd is never rowdy. The beer/drink selection is decent, but the fact that you won’t be secondhand smoking all night makes this place a 5 star bar.

Great new addition for Clarks Summit. The food is fantastic. I first had the burger with the mac and cheese and bacon(delicious), then I ventured out of my comfort zone when I went back. I had the Berkin Burger. Okay it was weird ordering it, it has fried bananas and peanut butter on it. It was amazing! Weird at first but amazing! Try that! Went back again, and had the Sophie burger, it has a delicious chipotle spread in it, so good. Okay, so I went back a few more times and had a lot of stuff. Both kinds of hand cut fries are amazing and their beer menu is great. So much on tap! By far a much needed addition to Clarks Summit with a great staff! Go check it out!
