If somebody walked into this place and puked all over it would be an improvement! This has to be the dirtiest most disgusting full of low life bar I have ever been to in my entire life! Ifyou think you’re eating food from a clean kitchen ha ha ha ha the joke’s on you the Lackawanna County Recycling Center is cleaner!

Well here it is. The food is NOTGOOD!!! ATALL! I’ve been here 3 times and had different food each time. The wings are soggy and not hot. No flavor. Second time i got the reuben. Who can screw up a reuben? Right? Well mcmullens can. Barely any meat too much sauce. Third time i got their signature steak sandwich. Which was dried out and totally tasteless. So after our group got done eating, we went to the bar area and I ordered a guiness draft. You would think that an irish pub would know the proper way to pour a guiness. Well here is how it went down… bartender puts the glass on the grate under the tap and pops the tap, wide open. So instead of watching the pour. The bartender turns around and lets that poor poor guiness foam up and over the rim. Then when he finally sees it he closes the tap and hands me the glass of foam. Well if it wasnt for my girlfriend begging me not to spill it out in front of him. I waited forever to be able to drink my guiness foam. Then I left. And will never ever ever return.

Okay you do need to lose any preconceived notions of what lies inside by what the outside looks like. From the outside We almost questioned in our group of 8 whether this was open or not. Not much in signage or or in anything really calling you in. See we stopped there to eat after visiting another area attraction and had some time before seeing a performance later in the evening. So a nice dinner and a few drinks seemed to be in order. Now walking in you do walk through the orderly and what looked like an antique oak bar and into the restaurant area. Nothing fancy mind you, but the server, cook, and owner each came out to talk to us. Service was on point, Food was excellent Irish Pub Fare with some other specialties on there, the drinks flowed, all the staff were friendly, and it was VERY reasonable. I recommend this place as a stop to anyone visiting Scranton/NEPA/570 area. Keep up the great work!

Food did not taste good and was over cooked in the microwave I think. The old booths were uncomfortable and need to be up graded. It’s not a bad stop if you want a beer, but that’s it in my opinion. The rest room was not very clean either. That always makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like. On the good side. Parking is easy, Just our two cents.

Eating a delicious burger and fries outside on the patio with a draft beer. Can it get any better?

McMullen’s is one of several neighborhood-sized restaurants in the Green Ridge area(they’re almost like signs telling you that you’re entering Green Ridge: Mickey Gannon’s, Morgan’z, Andy Gavin’s, Buddy Clarke’s… noticing a theme?) and for what it is, I like it and would return… just not in a hurry. I’ve been here twice so far, with a similar experience each time: above average(basic) food with below average service. My Monte Cristo was tasty, and served on French Toast(my preferred preparation) instead of the often disastrous deep-fried method(I’m looking at you, Bennigan’s). It was served with a small bowl of warm non-Maple syrup and a few spoonfuls of finely-textured coleslaw in a dressing cup. They should switch the containers around(dressing cup for the syrup, small bowl for the coleslaw) since there was way too much syrup and barely any coleslaw. The wings are pretty good — just be aware that«hot» here means«somewhere between mild and medium.» Perhaps it is the delicate Irish palate at work, but they were cooked to a nice crispiness. The selection of beer on tap seemed pretty small and boring. When I asked if there was anything exciting(my word) available in bottles, the response was«do you like [Michelob] Ultra?» with the next suggestion being Corona. Yikes! Don’t come here looking for interesting beer, or even Irish beer! Service was friendly, but painfully slow and somewhat forgetful. They weren’t busy, either! Overall, though, McMullen’s is pretty solid and reasonably priced — a nice place to unwind. The crowd is probably a little older(read: less boisterous) and more family friendly than its neighborhood stablemates.
