You know it is good if you place your order, finish eating, get seconds, and then go back in to get some for later!!! The Fish Samosas, veggie pizza, fried chicken, and pancakes were wonderful!

I only went to this place because my Somalian friend brings these beef and fish empanada things to work… he calls them samosas. So… on the way to the DeKalb farmers market I stopped to get some fish ones… cuz I love these things. They are $ 1 each. There were a lot of Africans watching«football»(soccer) in the dining area and one invited me to sit with him. I was more concerned with the elder outside with the lustful eye *creeps*. I don’t think I’d eat anything else from here but I know my coworkers like he beef as well… but I don’t eat beef.

Halal Pizza is best understood with a bit of humor. Recognize the yellow, hardwood booths, or the sandwich bar which now boasts $ 1 fish, rice and veggies? Here’s a hint: The glass over the sandwich bar once bore the name«SUBWAY» until«SUB» was crossed out and someone wrote«HALAL.» Although that glass has since been changed out, the many trademarks of this unique, low-key snack and tea shop remain the same: Al-Jazeera Arabic news on the TV to your right as you enter, international soccer ALWAYS on the big screen to the back, food and drink items ranging from $ 1-$ 2, and a sea of men – like the rest of the shopping strip – from Somalia, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Sudan, and Kenya. On the rotating food menu: Fries(bought by the dollar) Pizza by the slice Samosas Chicken wings Chapatti Rice Lentils Carrots Peas Fried fish And the mainstays: Coffee or spiced tea with milk for $ 1.25. If this type of place already sounds foreign to you, you probably won’t be won over on a first visit. Neither will you be if you are coming here in the quest for a sit-down meal. But if you’re in the mood for some tangible warmth of humanity and a bit of caffeine for less money than it costs to drive there, give it a shot.

I totally agree with the other reviewer. Clarkston is a bustling, diverse town with a tremendous influx of refugees who have brought their own cultures and cuisines with them. There are plenty of good restaurants to eat at around here — Pizza Walley, Medina, An Anwar, etc. — BUTTHISPLACEISNOTONEOFTHEM. I have gotten sick every time I have eaten here. The argument that my stomach can’t take it because it’s east african food is ridiculous. I have lived in India and been all over the world — I enjoy local cuisine. But the reason I get sick is because the kitchen is unclean as is the restaurant.

Another hole in the wall place in a very highly concentrated East African area in Clarkston, GA. Ordered 10 wings(half hot and half honey bbq) with fries. The fries were very plain with no salt. Not very good. The wings were ok and whatever. Seems like a popular place for East Africans but… methinks not!
