The food was spectacular. The wait was way too long on an early Saturday night that didn’t seem that busy.

Service was great! However, this place is way overrated when it comes to food. I ordered the Lakes Burger and it was super bland and dry. The fries were very good. Perhaps they have better things on the menu but I’m not sure if I’ll return.

Great experience. French onion soup was excellent. Burger buns were toasted. Turkey burger was great! Griffin claw wheat beer was good. Will come back.

Come here every Wednesday for ½ off pizza night, best pizza in town. We also love to come here for a nice quite kid free meal. Butter poached lobster tails are to die for! Never had a meal we didn’t love.

This spot is arguably the best restaurant in Clarkston. Not kidding. Nice environment. Great food. Good execution throughout the menu. Nice surprise specials. Just a comfortable and solid place to dine. Service can be slow but getting better.

Not impressed at all. Came in today for lunch, the menu is over priced to start with. I ordered a chicken sandwich without tomatoes due to allergy… this was ignored and brought with a tomato on top. The next thing that was disappointing is it wasn’t served with any condiments, so it was pretty much a piece of chicken on a dry roll. I was dissatisfied, the server didn’t offer to take it off the bill or make things right. The only thing that was offered was we can come back another time to get 10% off our next bill… no thanks.

I’m going to give the Lakes Grille a 4 star ONLY because they were super busy and it seemed to take a while to get things(i.e.: drinks, appetizer, ect)… But after a bit, they caught up and it seemed like they were more on top of it. The food was very tasty! I know it sounds weird, but I judge by a lot of places by their ranch dressing and it was great. The bread they bring you was warm and awesome. I had the chicken Parmesan and my fiancée had the surf and turf Mac and cheese. Both entrees were nicely presented and were tasty. I preferred the Mac and cheese, and would certainly order it again. The Parm was missing the melted cheese on top and a little more sauce but otherwise good. The staff is great and we will be back!

We came to this place for brunch because of the high reviews about it being a ‘gem’. It was disappointing, only 5 main items in the brunch menu. all pricy. My daughter asked for her regular chocolate milk and she got a regular milk with a little chocolate Hershey syrup. Her French toast was only ok, very disappointing. My egg and turkey sandwich was good. And the rest of the food was also ok. No jelly available. You must like country music and loud. I noticed big groups came over and all got their bloody Mary or mimosa. So brunch has no jelly but mimosas.

Have been to the Lakes Grille several times and while the food is very good, the service was extra slow(45 minutes to get our food) the last time. We arrived at 5:30PM on a Saturday with 2⁄3 of the tables empty so it wasn’t busy. The Grandkids got their food 20 minutes before the Adults so it was difficult to keep them entertained after they were done.

From out of town to see a concert and saw this on Unilocal.Had the Philly cheese steak along with a side of orzo and a few Long Islands. Nice environment, wait staff was friendly and food was very good! Recommend and would stop by again.

We just had one of our most horrible restaurant meals in a very long time at Lakes. We will never go back. They have serious problems with their cooks. My husband and I stopped in for a quick simple bar dinner. Ordered the baquette with butter, delicious, and two appetizers… cod bites and grilled shrimp. The cod bites appeared with dark, blackened batter The bartender tried to tell me it was a light batter so it darkened quickly? No, it was burnt! Tasted burnt, no firm cod inside, only mush. My husbands shrimp was elegantly ‘plated’ on skewers over fresh pineapple, but the shrimp was very over cooked and totally rubbery! We rarely complain, but if this is the food they serve at a supposedly upscale restaurant, and think it is ok… they are not long for continuing in business. Even with the horrible appetizers deducted, we paid $ 30 for 2 glasses of wine, two beers and the bread! Appalling!

We visited for the Taco Bar on Cinco de Mayo and it was delicious! Not the most beautiful display but that didn’t matter, everything that needed to be hot was hot and everything that needed to be cold was cold. They offered tortilla chips on the AYCE table so you could also make nachos, which I did :) Our server was great! She checked on us often and joked around a bit too. Our drinks were always full and out table was always clean. Thanks for a great night!

This was my first time at Lakes Grille, and it was pretty good. The décor was nice, the staff were friendly and we were seated without wait on a Saturday night at 8:30. The tempura brie was absolutely amazing. So so so so good. My boyfriend had the strip steak, it was cooked perfectly rare and was really tender. My chicken dish on top of butternut squash purée left a little to be desired — the chicken, while tender and juicy, was mostly flavorless. The yukon potatoes with dill saved it for me though. All in all, it was a great place to eat.

We love this place. I think we’ve probably eaten here more since they opened than when Knapps and Alexander’s were in this location put together. Great food and great staff. The burgers are ridiculous and we’ve enjoyed the salads, the Mac and cheese, etc. I had the beef stroganoff special tonight. Best I’ve ever had(sorry mom). My wife had the fish tacos which fell below standard, but we still enjoyed the meal. Highly recommend for a good meal and good ambiance.

After making a reservation well in advance for my Mother’s 94th birthday, we arrived to find that they had taken a very large party in prior to our reservation and could no longer seat us together. The hostess was rude and the manager really unsympathetic except to offer«free appetizers». We had to sit in separate booths… son and I in one and Grandma, daughter in law and grandchildren in another. It was very disappointing to say the least. And it was obvious that they had the opportunity to make some money from this larger group and we were the sacrificial lambs. Won’t be going back any time soon… probably good for groups no larger than two.

My husband and dined there just this past Tuesday. Waitress was very attentive and quick with our drinks. We had the shrimp appetizer, and the filet and added a lobster tail and shared everything. The filet was perfectly done at medium rare. Everything we ate was wonderful. I would highly recommend.

We had been fans of Red Knapps which used to fill this space. On a kid-less night we thought we’d check out the new look and menu at the Lakes Grille. Compared to the last restaurant a lot has changed. It’s decidedly pricier but also of higher quality. The wine list is extensive as is the list of local and craft beers. Our waitress was polite and knowledgable and made good wine recommendations to my wife. Our food was well prepared and the 80s ambiance music was a pleasant backdrop to our conversation. It was a lovely night out.
