So we usually go to Pete’s or Kirby’s when visiting the area and wanting a coney. However we decided to give Mel’s a shot. So while the service was good unfortunately did not enjoy the coney as much. The dog did not have the snap I like and the chili sauce was a little too salty for my taste. Although not a fan of their coneys I would recommend Mel’s for breakfast. We met a lot of family at Mel’s for breakfast and everything we ordered was delicious. I had the Road Trip with their corn beef hash which was excellent. Also tried their Kentucky hash and it was also very good. So while I would give 2 stars for the coneys, I would give them 4 stars for their breakfast. Hence I settled on 3 stars overall!

The Hawaiian omelet is the best omelet I have ever had anywhere. Highly recommend this place.

I’m shocked there are no reviews for this place. Excellent breakfast and brunch. Also, they serve the best conys I’ve yet had living in Michigan. A real mom and pops place.

I think that Mel’s is great. It’s a breakfast and lunch only spot, and they do a good breakfast. Their pancakes are fluffy and delicious. The hash browns are also yummy, slightly crispy just how I like them. The spinach feta egg white omelet was okay. Mel’s uses chopped spinach, and it seemed like mostly stems. Perhaps they’re best for eggs cooked to order and not vegetable omelets! Overall I think this is a solid breakfast joint and definitely recommend it.
