I rarely think to go to Bob Evans for breakfast but this morning we decided to try something outside of our normal routine. Our server was a little less than friendly but the attitudes of the other staff members more than made up for it. The food was awesome and reasonably priced. I definitely be returning.

The food I ordered, a Homestead Breakfast(w/bacon, OE eggs, home fries) and orange juice was quite tasty and attractively served. However, the service left a bit to be desired. After receiving my juice and waiting ~10 minutes I finally had to go search for a straw on my own. After my breakfast arrived, I discovered the salt in my shaker was a wet clump, so I rounded up another one. And another. Then another. Then another… until it got through my head that all the shakers in the restaurant had been«cleaned» by being wiped with a wet towel, clogging all the holes and saturating every single one. After waiting for another few minutes I got up yet again to request a paper-packet of salt. My waitress said there were none, and beating me back to my table, stretched her body across my food to reach the original shaker. Yuck. I didn’t see her again until receiving the check, complete with a little smiley-face drawn on clearly angling for an unearned tip. My waitress, although pleasant, was simply nowhere to be found while dining — except during the salt search when I discovered her very busy– deep in a personal conversation with another waitress which must have been far more important than serving the 3 or 4 other diners in my section. It will be awhile before I return.

Usually I don’t stop at Bob Evans because I really am not a breakfast person. We stopped at here one morning while traveling. Our waitress was fantastic. The service from the kitchen was so slow. The food was decent when it arrived.

We went here with my grandparents, The waitress looked like a tweeker and was friendly but was very disorganized. We ordered our food and watched other people come in after us and get served, while we sat and looked at our food sit in the kitchen. After the food sitting for about fifteen minutes she brought it out to us cold and we had to send it back. The waitress would vanish on us while we waited forever to get refills. Also when the food came she brought out everything at once, instead of giving us bread, then our salad, then dinner, then dessert! We only got served when we became upset and complained. This place has gone downhill since all the changes they have made.

I’ve eaten at the Bob Evans in Elizabethtown, Preston highway and Dixie Highway and never had a bad experience. After visiting the Clarksville location I can no longer say that about Bob Evans in general. Although there were four people up front standing around and the fact they weren’t even seating half the tables we waited about 10 minutes for a seat which isn’t terrible. Once we were seated we ordered our food about five minutes later on the waiter’s initial visit to our table when they were asking about drinks. About 10 minutes later they brought out our waters. Twenty minutes after that the waiter returned to the table to verify our order before he sent it to the kitchen because he couldn’t read his own hand writing. At this point I told them not to worry about it and left. Five minutes after that my two year old settled for nuggets from the Burger King down the street. I’ve always considered Bob Evans food on par with Cracker Barrel but this location needs to get their act together.

As with many of my recent reviews, this was during a road trip to and from Georgia. We stopped by here because there aren’t many Bob Evans around Chicago. Our server was very nice and I just can’t seem to remember her name. Older lady with short hair. I thought it was considerate of her to ask if we would like split checks just because most servers don’t want to even go through the hassle of separating. Food was good and the pumpkin and banana nut breads are amazing! Nice breakfast stop before heading home.

Nice place to eat. Friendly waitresses. Food is good. Clean. They got rid of the breakfast burrito so I don’t go there very often anymore.

I headed to Bob Evans on Sunday night after reading that their Grilled Chicken Breast with Baked Potato and Broccoli was rated one of the 25 healthiest restaurant dishes. At just 418 calories for the entire meal I thought I would try it. I suppose when you remove all of the sauce, butter, and flavor from food it gets a bit healthier. However, there has to be a way to make food low calorie without turning it into a piece of plain dry chicken, dry baked potato, and plain broccoli right? Anyway unless you are in the mood for something really bland I recommend that you skip this dish. Also, our we had to flag down our waiter to get our water glasses refilled. Overall not a stellar meal. However, we’ve had decent meals there so I’ll give them three stars.

Our wait for seating was less than 10 minutes. I ordered pancakes and sausage. The pancakes were frigging Huge! Super fluffy and simply amazing. No way I could possibly polish them all off. The best pancakes I’ve had in some time. When my freind asked for a milkshake. Our waitress politely suggested a smoothy off the menu or milkshakes from steak n shake across the street. Plenty of parking also.
