RED is awesome. Best selection of specialty beer and wine in the area. I appreciate that it’s small and the customer service is always superb. If you don’t shop here I recommend you do. Tomorrow or today. It’s that good. Plus, they sell really good chocolate. Need I say more?

Great selection — we bought the Ballast Point Grapefruit Sculpin and Manor Hill IPA(a local beer that we had never heard of but apparently is just down the road). The guy at the register was approachable and helpful — he told us where/how to do a tasting at the Manor Hill brewery and also gave us a taste of another beer.

I’m an old cranky guy who loves I.P.A.s…so when I found Red, with some great brews on draft to fill a growler at reasonable prices, and a terrific selection of my prized I.P.A.s, along with some new ones to try… AND — Michelle — who knows her beer [and wine, I’m guessing]…and is as nice as can be… this is my new go to store — and I may stop being cranky for a while… as far as nic complaining about prices — head down the road to montgomery county… that’ll teach you about prices… the prices at Red are totally in line with the quality they carry… personalized service, great beer and Michelle… can’t beat the combination… this store is a winner!

I only wished it was a larger store so I could have even more selection! Still, I grabbed a couple hard-to-find items, and I thought the pricing was fair. Was able to sample the beers on tap, which was a great bonus! Next time I’ll be sure to take a growler along!

Overpriced. I’ll stick with the reasonably priced and extremely well stocked place where I don’t have to wade through pretentious novelty to find my craft brews. I also dislike how they opened so close to three already established liquor stores. Smells fishy to me. I can understand having a focus on local and sustainable but the majority of the products here certainly are not local and that really makes me question the model.

Red concentrates on sustainable, organic, and/or biodynamic wines, craft beers, and boutique spirits. While the selection is reasonably priced, it’s necessarily small and focused on New World producers who tend to market more to this segment than classic wine regions do. The size of the store also restricts what they have room to stock. There is a mixed case and half-case discount program of 10 and 15 percent respectively. If verifiable sustainability is your primary wine buying criterion, Red can help you. Other than that, their limitations keep it from being a regular stop for me.
