I’m rarely a fan of fast food restaurants, but this is my favorite. I go here once every couple of months. The employees and owners are great, the owner recognizes my wife and me. I complimented her on their food and she shared that almost everything is made fresh. Their salsa is great. The taco meat is vastly superior to the other famous taco chain. I’m writing this today because we were there yesterday. I just felt like getting a hamburger and asked when they cook the patty, I learned they do it when you order the meal. Most other places pre-cook the meat. Good people and good food.

The churros are absolutely delicious! Chicken tacos are pretty nice, too. I haven’t had many other items, but what I’ve had was delicious.

Went to Del Taco drive-thru to get a quick lunch. The drive-thru worker was very friendly and pleasant when I gave my money and I got my food. She offered sauces as well for my order. I ordered the mini cheddar quesadilla, street taco with chicken, and a regular hard taco. The best food item was actually the regular hard taco. The meat was yummy and hot. The fixings of cheese, tomato, and lettuce were also tasty. The taco itself tasted great and the meat wasn’t greasy like I feel it is with Taco Bell. The next taco — street taco with chicken. They do try to make it seem like you just got it off a food truck with it being wrapped in aluminum. I didn’t realize the taco itself is two corn tortillas. Now, I am not a fan of corn tortillas the texture and taste remind me of feet or something(I know, I am weird). The flavors of the chicken with onions and cilantro give it a nice bite. However, the most disappointing aspect of the street taco was the sad slice of avocado. The actual size of the avocado I thought was decent, but the avocado itself when I tried it was hard. I was expecting a creamy/yummy avocado to go along with the spicy cilantro and onion, but instead the avocado was way too firm. I happened to have guacamole at work, so I used my dip with the taco and it tasted great. Finally, the mini quesadilla. The portion is small, it is called a mini! It was the perfect size for me, but the cheddar cheese inside seemed like it had been sitting waiting for someone to order it for hours. The cheese was pretty much hard, so I was a little sad. Overall, the customer service at this location was great. The food was decently good, but could have improved in a few places. Now — I know I should have also taken pictures of all this before eating, but I was too hungry! I did take a picture of the sad avocado, because I obviously didn’t eat that. I would go to Del Taco again though and try something else.

When it comes to fast food, my expectations are obviously much lower but I have to say I was actually surprised how good it was comparatively. I mean is it as good a taqiero in Mexicantown? No, of course not. For a place with a drive-thru I have to say I was surprised at how much flavor it had. I would eat here again in a crunch.

Have I really never reviewed this Del Taco? No time like the present, I suppose. A few weeks ago I wanted to grab some tacos and they were closed for renovations, although the drive-through was open. I’ll be honest: before the renovation, it looked like a sad version of Chuckie(sp?) Cheese or something. The décor was dated, although colorful; everything looked old. Now, it’s similar to the Del Taco Livonia location in décor, and everything looks MUCH nicer and more modern. I dined there this past Sunday before a movie at MJR, I had a free taco coupon too(sign up for their e-club!) for the carne asada. I ordered: 1 carne asada taco — their newest taco, I think. Comes with avocado which I don’t entirely like, but it’s healthy; a pico de gallo; and some steak. The steak was a little stringy, the Livonia location’s was better. 1 turkey taco. This might actually be my favorite, I got it with a crunchy shell and pico de gallo. 1 chicken taco. I DON’T know what that white sauce is they use but it’s delicious. I get my tacos minus lettuce(because I’m weird) and minus cheese(because dairy and I are not friends), also. I’m liking this location’s updated look and will be back. My only regret is that I forgot to use a Del Taco gift card I had, so I paid the $ 3.50 for the 2 tacos on my credit card instead … oops.

Awesome!!! 5 stars for sure. All the young ladies working in there were friendly & definitely enjoyed what they were doing. I was greeted well and given my order accurately as well as quickly. The steak & fish tacos were both hot and tasty. The store was clean too. Great pick up for some quick food.

I come from Nevada where these are plentiful and was feeling homesick, so I stopped here. I am happy that I got my fix. Food was consistent and service was ok(it’s fast food, whatever). Minus one star because the fries felt microwaved and the cashier could have at least tried to pretend she likes her job.

I could have written about any of the locations, but the service here is so friendly I decided to write about this one. It’s like they are genuinely happy to see you. Love the fish tacos, and the fries are always piping hot and fresh. Wish they had the fried jalapeño slices more often, and this is one of the only fast food places where you can occasionally get pork. The lot is always clean and swept. I’ve never been inside, but the pictures online look really nice. Service is fast, but they still take the time to fry things fresh and the food is assembled nicely. A much better and freshers option than Taco Bell. In fact, they blow Taco Bell away.

Every time I’m in Michigan or the west coast, I have to hit up Del Taco! It’s like Taco Bell but… only better. The food is better quality & they have much more variety. If you don’t want tacos & burritos, you can always get a burger & fries. I really like their fish tacos. It comes in a soft corn tortilla filled with a freshly fried fish topped with shredded cabbage. I’m also a fan of their steak & chicken tacos al carbon. The sauce that they put in those tacos have quite the kick in the spicy department but, it’s seriously a delicious taco. Their regular hard tacos aren’t anything special but they are a step up from Taco Bell tacos. I really like come here for their speciality tacos & burritos.

Love the food but there is an annoying employee who works there later at night… Throwing puns and wisecracks.

Horrible. Told me it was $ 9 at the drive thru speaker. I got to the window and it was $ 12 all of a sudden. I ordered/paid for fries and got no fries. Not my first bad experience here but my last as I will never go back.

Some of Del taco’s stuff is not so great, but the stuff they do well, they nail. I am not a fan of their burritos or regular tacos, but I love their chicken soft tacos. If I’m trying to make a lower carb choice I will get three of them sans tortillas on a plate. SOGOOD. The first time they were like DUDEWUT, and then from then on it wasn’t a big deal. Also, the caramel cheesecake bites, and the churros are awesome. Those are clearly days I get my tacos with tortillas. O_O The spicy shrimp tacos, when they have them, are SO good. I wish they were on the menu permanently, but it’s probably good they aren’t. Oh, and the carnitas ones, too. As an aside, I appreciate their being open even on holidays. I hope those working on them don’t mind being there, of course, but they’ve helped me out on more than one night where I’ve come home very, very late from working some crazy emergency hours at some hospital a drive away AND on a holiday. (Contrary to popular belief, not all of us late-night people have just been out partying ;))

There’s maybe three Del Tacos in Michigan, and this is one of them. I come here to binge on hard tacos cause they’re only fifty cents a piece.

Coming from Cali. I was sooooo ecstatic that I found a DT in Michigan. I think this may be only one in Michigan, but regardless I thank the high heavens for it! This used to be a favorite spot for my girl friends and I after a night of drinking in Cali and Michigan. And will occasionally order a chicken soft taco if and when I’m out here during the day time. I’m also a big fan of the chili cheese fries, which I’m not sure if I had since being out here. My friend and I spilt a churro last week and was slightly disappointed with it because it seemed like it had been sitting out for awhile and there was barely any sugar covering the churro.

This place never disappoints! Food is always fresh and tasty. I love hard shell tacos they are always crispy and tasty, unlike Taco Bell where you get chewy broken shell tacos.

The food here is always fresh and I never have an issue with order accuracy — but the service ALWAYS leaves a LOT to be desired. In all honesty — I don’t think I’ve ever been smiled at or told to have a «good day» in the twice per week I go there for pop(and occasional breakfast food) in the mornings. Never. They’re just never thrilled to be there.

Crinkle cut fries are extra tasty option. I always leave stuffed. Wide range of menu items. Blue collar lunch crowd. 80’s music overhead. Breakfast 24 hours a day. New item — Bacon Ranch Grilled Chicken taco –yummy. They cater, which is a bit unusual for a fast food place.

I’m sorry but Del Taco is the jam… the fish tacos are killer. You were right Pauly! And while the fish may not be the highest quality cut, they promote the fact that the Alaskan Pollock they use is sustainable. They do a nice job on these for sure. On top of that their regular tacos are great too. Perhaps a touch smaller than Taco Bell’s but for $ 1.29 on Tuesdays you get three of these bad boys… Thursdays, 3 of their chicken soft tacos for $ 2.49…that’s a deal no matter how you cut it. The drive-thru was clean and quick and the food is super fresh so it doesn’t ever taste like someone emptied a bag of cheese or meat into a bin before serving it. I’m digging the Del.

Yup, 4 stars is right in line with the meal! About 1000x better than taco bell. They have value meals that come with fries, and burgers so if you go with a friend that hates tacos they have something else they can get. The tacos are about the same price as taco bell, the portions seem bigger and fresher. I like that they have sauces on the tables and the sauces aren’t just little packets of hot salt, they are actually seasoning. The burrito I got came with guac which was a nice surprise — at tb that would be an extra $ 1 or something… I hate when people grade the meal based on help since I go to Unilocal to figure out where there is tasty meals not off service… That said, our service was great.

Del Taco Rocks! They let you do whatever you want to your nachos. I like no meat, sub the pico that’s on the fish tacos. I used to sub fried jalapenos before they discontinued them, such a shame. This store is owned by the same guy that owns the one at Universal at 12& Dequindre. The service is always good and if you haven’t stopped in to try a fish taco, chicken taco, cheese quesadilla or a bean burrito you don’t know what you are missing. They cook the chicken to order, fry everything as they are ordered, they cook the beans for like 5 hours or something and hand grate all the cheese daily. Del taco is better then TB in every way. Del Taco doesn’t feel like a fast food joint to me.
