I’ve never had a bad sub at Firehouse. I usually go to one in Cary for lunch and then this one opened up just down the street from me. I have been there 4 or 5 times for dinner, usually get the meatball but last time tried the hook and ladder. I think that is now my go to sub. The food is always fresh, hot and tasty. The folks that have been complaining about smoke, I have never noticed it. Not sure what it would be from. There’s a lot of steam from when the heat up the meat. Anyway, give it a try.

The last time we were there we ordered 2 sandwiches. When the sandwiches arrived they had put the wrong toppings on them and the«gentlemen» behind the counter looked at me and replied«so i guess you want us to fix them?» We just don‘t go there anymore.

Plan on waiting 10 – 15 minutes for your sub to be ready, not 4 – 6 minutes as the manager posted. If if the place is not busy

Service has gotten much better, food is consistently on point. Still smokey, Cough Cough

Just spent 15 minutes waiting to be served and left with a refund. Firehouse subs should be able to deliver a sandwich in ~5−7 minutes, just like its major competitor, Jersey Mike’s. … Regardless of whether the location is busy. Only 2 people placed an order ahead of me when I walked in. Come to find out, after waiting around, about 6 other people already ordered and were still, also impatiently, waiting on their orders. Jake, the child manager, was the ranking official today. He lacklusterly refunded my order and didn’t utter more than a forced«I’m sorry.» I’m not returning. I’ll just drive the same distance to Jersey Mikes. Bye, Firehouse!

We certainly appreciate the feedback of the community as we continue to grow and develop. The time it should take to get a sub should fall between 4 – 6 minutes, assuming its not overly busy. This is one area that we have put a lot of effort in to since our grand opening in May. Regarding the smoky appearance, it is actually steam. Because we run 8 steamers simultaneously, the output can(at times) be more than the vent can pull out. Overall we have made tremendous strides since our grand opening and encourage continuous feedback as we strive to better serve our community. Corey Norris General Manager

Like some of the other reviews, it was a bit smokey in there. But not the kind of smokey that will burn your eyes or anything. Tuna sub was good. Hot sauce bar was good as well. Bread was tasty. It’s good food, better than subway. I like the décor. A great way to honor the fire departments. There are a lot of workers in there. I wouldnt say my sub took forever, but it could have been a lot quicker since it was an easier sub to produce.

Food is usually okay, but with a ton of problems. Service is dirt slow, they tend to lose online orders in their system, and the value for price point is way out of whack. If you’ve got 6 people behind the counter, what’s so impossible about getting out a sub in under 20 minutes??? Brisket sandwich is good, but the price is busted.

There’s something not right with this place. It should have been much busier on a Monday at 12:30 pm, and it was really smokey in there! What is up with that? It took about 10 minutes for my sub to be ready but that’s not to say that the SEVEN people working behind the counter weren’t keeping busy constantly. I took a couple of pictures but the one I DIDN’T get(which I’m kicking myself for) was the stacks of boxes piled about 10 feet high near the counter that was obviously stock that should have been stored in the stockroom. Instead it was a mess out for all the customers to see, announcing that the place is very unorganized. Oh yes the sandwich… it was okay. The Hook & Ladder Light had an odd sweet taste which I think was from the whole wheat bun, and an odd tangy taste which was from the lettuce, tomato and light mayo topping.
