I brought my car here after an accident for replacement of front bumper, driver side front panel and to repaint the hood. We also discussed them replacing the cracked door handle which would not be covered by insurance, and would need to be paid out of pocket, which I agreed to.
On date of pickup the car looked pretty good, other than the inside of the driver’s side panel which was pretty dirty from being on the ground I assume, when they were replacing the handle. They could have at least cleaned it off, or return the car back to me in the same condition it was brought to them, but this wasn’t a big deal. The issue came when I tried to lock my doors, they would not lock. I went back in and told them at the front desk, and they came out and had the same issue. I asked what happened, since this has never been a problem before, except now and they have only had the car for 1 week. They asked if they could keep the car and have a mechanic look at it in the morning and they would give me a call early the next day. Around 3pm in the afternoon I call and ask for an update, and they told me I need to replace the mechanism in the door. I asked why no one had called me, and they said they just got to it, and I was going to be called soon. I asked to speak to the manager Bill, he was on a phone call and when he called me back he said that «Google showed this as a known issue, and he found 11 pages of information on people who had the same issue,’ I told him I don’t believe Google is the best source for a car shop to use to determine known issues. I asked how many of those reviews came from people who’s door locked, before they came into a body shop, then it stops working the day of pick up. He said he didn’t know.
Basically after speaking with another representative, and the manager who just didn’t care, now I’m having to pay another $ 500 to be able to lock my doors, and I’m hoping nothing else just happens to break during the time they keep my car.

I had two people hit me in the span of a couple of months. Between insurance, a rental, and repairs, I figured I would be in for some major headaches. But the people at Gerber made it so much easier than I expected. They contacted the insurance company and organized the rental and then REcontacted and organized when the estimate one insurance company had made ended up being WAY off in time and money. I never had to worry about changing the arrangements. All in all, through several changes, they were professional and easy to work with. I would highly recommend them.
