One of the better places to get hotdogs with lots of different toppings. The convenience store has a good selection and the people are generally friendly. They do have quite a bit of inside seating and I’ve even seen live music there! Their gas prices are a bit high, in my opinion, but there aren’t any close competition to bring the prices down. They have a great location in a quickly expanding area.

To me these hot dogs were just as good as the ones you get on the street in New York City or at any place like the Windmill in NJ Jersey. Don’t worry you didn’t bite your lip the skins are red. I didn’t try anything else I just had the one hot dog and a Dr Pepper. It was delicious lots of different free toppings including chili!

I didn’t give them 5 stars b/c they no longer allow you to fish the ponds adjacent to the store. Plus they are not open late, you better get your gas early! They do have the best hotdogs in this region. The staff are typically friendly. I predict they will be expanding their fuel pumps out away from the building towards the dirt drive. They have a huge influx of drivers now that Harris Teeter is next door and the dozen or more retail stores. They need probably 6 more pumps and a higher canopy, etc.

This is a convenience store/Citgo station a few miles outside Clayton, in the community of Flowers, on NC Hwy 42 East toward Wilson. There is a grill in the place and they serve up some excellent hot dogs and hamburgers, especially the hot dogs. Supposedly this property once belonged to Percy Flowers, an infamous monnshine king in Johnston County. They serve a nice version of the Southern chili dog, with a nice, tasty chili as the headliner. I’ve only tried the hamburger once, and was not disappointed, but the hot dog is my favorite. This is strictly a grab and go place.
