Just had lunch here. This place has been going downhill for a while now. I sat at the bar and it smelled like dirty mop water. I ordered a 3 dollar ice tea which tasted very old.(I drink a lot of tea so i know). The tea was not refilled one time during my 50 – 60 minute lunch. The bartender never once checked on me after i got my food delivered. The food was pretty decent but no where near worth 12 dollars for a grilled chicken sandwich and some mcdonalds fries. Last time i got the waffle fries they didnt taste very good. I think the oil in the frier was old and dirty which leads to bad tasting food. Oh ya and the bar was dirty with the last persons food in front of me. I couldnt even set my phone down bc the bar was so greasy. She did not once wipe down the bar even after seeing me take some napkins to it with a disgusted face. Oh ya and the napkins were partially wet. I left a note on the check. God hopes the manager gets to see that and this review. Thanks

A pleasant local pub. Friendly staff. Lots of different beers on tap. Tried the red chili. I give it a B– but I’m a chili snob. They have a «white chili.» That’s a marginal heresy but I’ll come back and give it a try.

Went here so we could sit outdoors in the sun, found a seat outside right away but didn’t get here until 1:30pm, there was still a small crowd of people here at the bar and back patio deck, we were able to watch the cardinal baseball game from their outdoor tv screen that was a nice feature! Food is always great. I had the Buffalo chicken salad and tater tots, my friend had the Cesar salad with salmon, both salads were absolutely delicious. We looked at the table next to us and we instantly started drooling from the smell of the huge burgers they were eating, we almost changed out order. I will order the burger at my next visit to JP Fields. The waitress made sure our drinks were always full. This is a must for me.

Their house made BBQ sauce is nothing short of fantastic! As is their pulled pork sandwich! Large portions, reasonable price, and quick friendly service round out an excellent dining experience.

GREAT burger and tater tots. Cool Blues pictures everywhere. Bartender was terrific and was straight cuteness. By the way, I’m not familiar with Clayton, but are Clayton women snotty or is it just me? I feel like they’re a little stuck-up. Wish I could take a poll to confirm.

Reminds me of the Cheers episodes. The regulars and locals are known by name and they made us «out of towners» feel part of the atmosphere. They even called us by name by the time we left! Went on St Patty’s Day and they definitely hit the mark on Irish traditional food. But all the food looked amazing. Prices very well too. We will be back!

I like this place because it reminds me of what I would find at home. Dark lacquered long bar with wooden tables and booths, simple yet fulfilling bar grub, a good tap list, adequately placed TV’s and talkative staff, there’s not much else you can ask for. Very comfortable atmosphere!

Are you a 22 – 26 year old bro? Are you a middle aged suit who just finished a rough day at your Clayton office? If you answered«no» to both questions, you’re probably not going to find what you’re looking for at JP Fields. I came here with some coworkers for happy hour, and though the drinks were cheap, it definitely was not our scene. We split an order of chicken tenders, which were pretty standard. The rest of the menu was typical bar food.

Authentic feeling pub with great outdoor patio. Good for hockey games and other sports too. $ 2 tall boy PBR and Busch attracts the younger crowd. Bartender is always super nice and attentive. Food is above average for bar food. If you want a crazier bar experience go across the street to Wheelhouse but if you want to actually have a conversation go to JP Fields.

Perfect for the game. Somewhat younger crowd. Get the t ravs /buffalo Hawaiian role sandwich. Too bad my fantasy team blew it this night. Not the bars fault, this place does the job for the games.

Good place to go for some drinks. Dark, loud sports bar with a younger crowd. Although for a college crowd, the drink prices are just as high as any standard bar. Appetizers were very good.

It might be a hyperbole to say that John P. Fields has the best turkey burger of all time, but they do. Alcohol may or may not have played a part in this determination, but I will stand by it. What made their turkey so good? The patty was spiced up pretty good and tasted like sausage instead of dry turkey breast. Always a plus. Then, there was some kind of delicious cheese melted on top of that, and grilled peppers. Add a side of perfectly seasoned waffle fries to that and you’ve got the best burger I’ve ever eaten. There’s a small-ish patio in the back for when it’s not too cold or rainy. Oh, also they have drinks.

JP Fields is our usual hangout. We have came here for everything including dinner, drinks, baseball, football, to hang with friends and to even just catch up with Brian who works there. PBR tallboys are $ 2, a price you just can’t beat! My husband loves the buffalo chicken dip and I absolutely love the fried cod sandwich with cheese. Overall, the service is fantastic, the food is great, the atmosphere is everything one could ask for in a sports bar. Parking is convenient in a parking lot nearby and if full we usually always can find a spot on the street that is not too far.

John P. Fields is the perfect place to meet friends for a drink or have a casual night out close to home. My favorite part about this bar is the back deck. This outdoor area includes flat screen TVs, couches, and tables with umbrellas. It’s not very large so be prepared if it is a busy night. We went a couple of times after Clayton’s Parties in the Park and both the inside and outside deck was pretty packed. I have not tried the food and the service is just ok. Not sure if they are supposed to serve you when out on the patio, but the table next to us had a server. No one ever came to ask us if we needed anything so we just went to grab drinks at the bar inside. Overall, JP Fields is an average neighborhood pub hangout with the back deck being the highlight for me.

I was pleasantly suprised by my experience at JP Fields. The place was a typical pub, a little dark inside, old wooden tables, and a few drafts on tap. We went here for a happy hour after work, and it was perfect for that. It wasn’t too crowded for a Tuesday night. We were able to easily get a table and the service was very attentive. We ordered appetizers and drinks. My favorite was the fried pickles and the house made ranch for dipping. Yum! The pickles were chips, not spears, which is my preference. They were really good. And salty! We also tried the buffalo chicken dip, the bean nachos, and of course, the gravy cheese fries! I was really looking forward to these, and they were just ok. You can put gravy on just about anything and I will eat it. So I didn’t have much of a problem polishing off the Poutine. I’ve never had it up north or out east, so I don’t really have a comparison, but this version was pretty good. The best part of the night… when I checked in on Unilocal I got a free Busch or Busch Light! Can’t argue with free beer. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

Buffalo Chicken Wrap! Actually, anything on this menu is excellent. To the younger crowd in STL, this Clayton establishment is most likely synonymous with meeting your group of friends for a night of cocktails. Here’s what I suggest: drop in at around 8:30 or 9:00pm on a Friday or a Saturday night, grab a table, order dinner(I suggest the wrap or the cheese quesadilla), and then stay for a couple of hours to have some drinks with friends. Let’s be honest, your friends were probably going to be meeting at Fields for drinks anyway. The ambiance is that of a typical bar. Dark wood booths, tables, and floors make it feel slightly more upscale than you average pub-fare dining experience. The walls are adorned with sports memorabilia, and there is a giant chalk board in the dining area that dictates the specials for that day/night. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare. If you snag a parking spot behind the building, consider yourself lucky. The best time to ensure a parking spot is after the Happy Hour crowd leaves and before the nightlife crowd arrives. The staff is great! Everyone from the bartenders to the servers/cocktail waitresses is super friendly.

Came here for drinks and it’s a typical bar/pub. The drinks are pretty standard priced. But the good thing about this place is apparently this is where all the beautiful people hang out on a weekday. Maybe it was just because school is out now. But seriously on Wednesday night I have never seen so many attractive women located in 1 place in St. Louis before.

Let me start out by saying that I had a genius idea upon arriving to JP Fields this evening for dinner… It’s a TV show called ‘True Life: I’m Trying to Find a Clayton Parking Spot.’ Sheeeesh… What a headache! I like this place. It’s cool. If I talked this way I’d say it’s ‘chill.’ An old friend and I wanted to grab dinner somewhere low maintenance with good, reliable food and drinks, and it was a perfect choice. Only a couple other people in the restaurant at 5pm, it was easy to have a good conversation and abnormally quick service. I went with my predictable rum & diet with lime, and also earned a free beer when I checked in on Unilocal that I plan on using very soon! Menu was okay, food was good but not great. Like I said, it’s a reliable place, so you know you’ll see some standard favorites on the menu. I had the Reuben today and embarrassingly I ate all of it… The corned beef was pretty dry, and if you like sour kraut, I advise you ask for a little extra. The house fries were to die for and carb-o-licious. I’ve never been here at night but I hear it gets ridiculously busy and full of college kiddos. I wouldn’t object to coming back again for a good lunch or dinner!

I found the hidden gem of the place is the back deck. Small couch along with tables and chairs with views of 232″ flat panels… ~? I was hanging out & thinking how cool it was… ~!? ~!!? what is that smell? Went down the steps– they built the deck over a dumpster. I will be back because I saw a sign for a late Saturday happy hour from 6 – 10PM w/$ 2 domestic draughts & bottles plus $ 5 appetizers does not sound bad to me. I will be sitting on the sidewalk café or the nice pub, unless the wind is blowing right. ~!!!
