I’m always very content with the food I order and the service I receive at Morton’s. My favorite items to order for dinner are the 6 oz. Filet Mignon with 3 Grilled Shrimp &2 Bacon Wrapped Scallops and a side of the sour cream mashed potatoes. The steaks are always cooked perfectly and the mashed potato portions are massive. I love the mashed potatoes here more than the mashed potatoes at other steak restaurant in St. Louis. For dessert, you must get the made-to-order soufflé. Morton’s makes THE most heavenly soufflé I have ever had in my life. The flavor, the fluffiness, and the texture of the soufflé are phenomenal and it’s a 5⁄5 star dessert for me. I would pick Morton’s over 801 Chophouse, Ruth’s Chris, or The Tenderloin Room any day.

So this is not our first time eating at Morton’s, but will probably be the last. We dined here New Years and the service was far from great. The need to ask for water or cocktails shouldn’t exist. The door was constantly opening because they were busy but the place was reduculously cold. In fact, my steak was no more than room temp when it arrived at the table. Mind you, when it arrived it was long after we ordered. The server was apologetic and kept offering us bread to rectify that the kitchen was overwhelmed. We didn’t want bread we probably could have added another 100 to the tab in drinks though had he taken proper care of us. Prior to this experience my husband and I had our anniversary dinner here, again, not overly impressed. We also had dinner here for Valentines this year in which my filet was extremely well done. The manager asked for our understanding as it was a busy holiday and thus far they were doing well. I now know this is not just a busy thing, this place needs help! Thee bad experiences in one year is extreme! I think we will go elsewhere going forward.

Went here for a bite to eat and a few drinks on Christmas night. We had done most of our celebrations earlier in the day and prior to Christmas so we were ready for a good meal and some quiet time. Morton’s is consistently good food, but be prepared to spend some money. We each started off with a cocktail, split a filet, and a side of creamed spinach and au gratin potatoes. Filet was cooked great, good seasoning and just all around delicious. The creamed spinach was, well super creamy, almost runny, I wasn’t a fan. Everything else, minus service, was good. The bartender was not very friendly, inattentive and even got into an argument with another server behind the bar. In which the lady next to me caught my eye and we both go «awkward!» I mean I get it, you’re working on Christmas, but that shouldn’t mean service lacks. 4 drinks total and a split meal put us at $ 150 plus we still left a good tip, since it was Christmas. Not too eager to go back but it was nice to have a solid food option on Christmas.

Paul, the GM, not only saved the day; but, provided exceptional service throughout the night. we had a reservation fiasco at another restaurant. we called morton’s and Paul immediately got on the phone and figured out how to accommodate our family of 7 on Christmas Eve. Exceptional service and great food! thanks Paul!

I went to Morton’s last night by myself for an expected fabulous steak dinner, what a let down. First, the salads and sides are enough for 3 people, they need to offer half orders of those for people who are not complete gluttons. I had the iceberg«wedge» with bleu cheese. The taste was wonderful but it was almost an entire head of iceberg on a 16″ plate, not anything resembling a wedge. I’m sure if they offered the salads and sides as half orders at a more reasonable price, more people would come in. Now the steak, I ordered the Chicago bone in ribeye, medium rare for it’s fabulous marbling and juicy tender texture. It came out a little past medium, barely pink and the only part that was juicy and tender and cooked correctly was the part 1 inch from the bone and of course the outer fatty edge at the top. The main section of the steak was barely pink and had a grainy texture instead of a butter texture expected from a high quality ribeye. I don’t believe for a second that was prime beef or above. Overall, it was a poor meal and paled in comparison to 801 Chophouse.

From the moment you valet the car to the time you lick the you’re licking your desert spoon(or plate) you are treated like royalty. Great steaks are their specialty but they have something for everyone. The Chilean Sea Bass is melt in delicious. The Chicken Christopher is awesome and the Short Ribs are nothing short of spectacular. The hidden treasure is the Bar Bites menu available during happy hour(5:30 to 6:30). The wine list is spectacular with something in every price range.

Phenomenal place to dine! My husband and I have frequented Morton’s on many occasions since 1998 and they never disappoint! Their stakes are always fresh and absolutely melt in your mouth. Fantastic restaurant and highly recommend.

The bets of the best. Been going here since I was a little girl for special occasions. The staff has always been friendly and the food is to die for! Bonus… Get the Godiva lava cake :)

$ 14 for a baked potato(all sides are advertised as ‘Shared’ and do not come with meals). Pricey and did not match the quality of the steaks. Unusual offerings, such as the ‘ocean’ items and combos that are ‘per person’ that are not quite accommodating. I’ve had better steak and lobster at other restaurants. We won’t be going back. The waiter was okay and everyone was friendly but didn’t get a birthday dessert but received a picture of our party so that was a nice surprise.

Ok. This is what happened. We had a company sponsored lunch on April 23rd there. Caeser salad and Chocolate mousse were good. But then the ribeye that we got was the worst ever. I have been to many a Mortons in my lifetime and was so looking forward to this because I hadn’t been to one in a few years but o boy, i have to say that it was hands down the worst Ribeye ever. There was so much gristle too that no one can chew through. Half of the steak was gristle. No kidding. And not only that, many of us felt very sick the entire afternoon after the meal. I was feeling extremely queasy until the next day. I know atleast 3 other guys who had lunch said the same thing and i believe lot more of the folks felt the same way. So, there needs to be some kind of investigation on this for sure.

I’d really like to give this restaurant 4.5 stars. While the steak is great, the prices seem to rise. Service is generally exceptional, and the salads and sides dish flavors are also very good. Bar modifications last year made it a little more friendly. Be prepared for a long and full dining experience. Location is great, often valet parking is available. However, while the steaks here are VERY good, it seems like Flemings and 801 Chophouse might have a slight edge on flavor. GREAT seafood too! Glad to have this great steakhouse here in Central Clayton… A worthy 4.5 Stars. Worth a visit!

We have been going there for years. It has somehow lost its charm and uniqueness when the trays went away. Now, it is just a stake house with good overpriced food. We expect an exceptional experience at that price which somehow is no longer there.

I get it, I’m the only one on earth who doesn’t enjoy Morton’s. I’ve been here twice and that is all I can handle. I just don’t like the steak… not for me.

The Clayton Morton’s is everything you would expect it to be. Low-lit, white tablecloths, and great steak. The Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes and the Morton’s Salad were pretty decent, but definitely did not overshadow the main entrée. The filet mignon(8 oz) was cooked rare; juicy, tender, and just slightly cool in the center. The recommended Cab was great with the steak, and the Chocolate Mousse for dessert was great to top off the meal. Service was attentive and warm throughout our visit. Overall, an a great meal and good ambiance, and everything you’d expect from a traditional steakhouse.

If you want a very nice dinner that is worth every penny, this is the place to come. My husband and I have been here several times and never once had a bad experience. It’s a neat place to come for a special occasion, as they really do try to make it… well, special. For instance, we came here for my husband’s birthday last year, and they had printed special menus wishing him a Happy Birthday and took a nice photo of us after they brought out his complementary dessert. Service is always flawless and the food is beyond outstanding. From time-to-time, Morton’s has a $ 59.99 pre-fix special that is a deal not to be missed. We took advantage of this offer recently. You choose one of three salads, one of three appetizers, an 8 oz. filet, one family style side, and one of three desserts. This is an exceptional value! I tried the Morton’s salad for something different, and was glad I did. It was simple and light, topped with hardboiled egg, blue cheese crumbles, anchovies, and blue cheese dressing. My husband went with the Caesar salad, which I’ve had in the past… it is also very good. We each chose the Shrimp Alexander for our appetizer. It comes with three huge shrimp dusted in bread crumbs and drizzled with a light buttery sauce. Our filets both came out cooked to perfection, along with our sides… sour cream mashed potatoes and grilled balsamic vinaigrette asparagus. We’re both big chocolate fans, so we each enjoyed our own legendary Hot Chocolate Lava Cake. It’s absolutely divine from the first bite when the melted chocolate center begins to ooze onto the plate until the very last bite of cake that’s shared with vanilla ice cream. I would recommend Morton’s to anyone. It’s one of my favorite places to splurge… make it yours as well!

I will start off saying that Jackie is right in my experience, they do like it rare. I ordered my steak wd and was told that will mean a strip of pink in the middle so I restated, wd? So that seemed off but the two steaks that came that night were excellent in taste and presentation for me. It would be different if I was not warned, even though it seemed like more than a strip of pink, but the Cajun Ribeye was the best steak I’ve had in a very long time, if not ever and that includes my recent visit to Citizen Kane’s. This was a get out and have a good dinner night for a friend who needed it so we ordered everything. Prosciutto Wrapped Mozzarella(just okay), Hash Browns(very good, who would have thought this was sold here), Grilled Asparagus(excellent), Chopped Salad(split for two, very good), the Porterhouse(was very good), the Cajun Ribeye(excellent), New York cheesecake(very good) and a few drinks. We had very good service although it was bit off as one was being trained by another and while very attentive(the trainee was very good) there was a time when our empty dishes sat for awhile because they were talking across the room and could see we were finished but I guess were into their conversation. I was impressed that the manager himself seem to be seating every table and was excellent in dress and mannerisms. He also took time to talk a bit and make sure all was good. I will go back here, but given the price(you get what you pay for?) it will definitely be a special treat … most expensive steak I have ever bought. I hear the lunch specials are a good reason to go for value eating so maybe I will try them out then.
